- After getting a big new PB of 1:03:45 in Genocide I decided to extend the run and also nab the first ever sub-2:40:00 Soulless Pacifist!

A Soulless Pacifist speedrun entails finishing a Genocide speedrun, waiting 10 minutes to sell your SOUL, then completing a True Pacifist speedrun immediately after. Doing this nets you the secret ending at the very end!

It took almost 2 weeks for this video to escape content ID limbo, but here it is, better late than never!
One of the most interesting things about uploading completely unedited footage from a stream is seeing what bizarre conversation you land in the middle of at the beginning of a PB... at the time of recording, primaries had just happened in my state so we were right in the middle of talking about political-related stuff. Hope y'all don't mind too much and still enjoy this monster run. 💜

@@emmettcahill0918there are certain circumstances, like killing flowey then reloading asgore, that prevents flowey from killing asgore after you spare him. However, asgore will still kill himself, even if flowey doesn’t

Is the total time for the run Geno time + TPE time + 11 min 27 seconds? The void waiting + chara dialogues is always 11min 27sec and you don't need to time that part?

Im new to speedrunning genocide why do you change rooms after getting an encounter?
Every room has two step counts for encounters - one for the first, and then one for the second+. The first one is much shorter than the other one, so we want to use that as much as possible. It resets on room switch. I think this mechanic is supposed to be QoL for Pacifist so you don't get swarmed while exploring a room, but it's counter-intuitive for Genocide.

this reminds me today is the first time i actually beat a full game of undertale bc before i was scared that i wouldnt beat the bosses but then i did it :3
Y'know, I dunno why, but when I replayed the ending of True Pacifist (like loading up the same save file and replaying the True Pacifist ending) and for some reason, I got the creepy save screen with nobody on it and eerie music, and when replaying Chara looked at me with their red, stoner eyes, and it gave me the second ending. Is this normal?
Because the game stull has a record of your genocide run, so no matter what, a pacifist run will always be soulless.

A full genocide run has never been done on my Switch, nor my account, so it shouldn't have a record of such an ending, ESPECIALLY because it should play the Soulless ending everytime you beat it, but this was just me rebooting the game and going back to the last save and beating the game like that. Or the person that DID do a genocide run beat the run on my account lol

"soulless pacifist" describes a true pacifist run performed *after* completing a geno run, & selling your soul to chara so they can reset the world. it gets a special title because the game acknowledges that you've done this by changing the very ending, either the picture or the cut scene with toriel (which you pick by either saying you "have places to go" or that you want to "stay with [her]", respectively). frisk's sprite is replaced with chara's, and the vibe of the ending is Very Different than a normal true pacifist run because of the whole "selling your soul to an ambiougsly demonic child" thing. hope this helps!

What exactly does "the thing" accomplish?
If you mean the thing at 2:32:32, getting hit after selecting "Struggle" is different from getting hit anywhere else in the menu because it advances the Asriel battle early and skips the next turn
