Gordon my brother has a 2801 or something like that. He was brush hoging the ditch at the county road and rge property. The grass was about 3 ft. Tall. He was doing just fine until he came to his driveway. Being at a slight angle and the front end leveling out boom. His complete back window exploded. He had it open for some fresh air. Over $600 luckily he was under warranty so it cost him $150 deductible. He is still finding pieces of glass in the cab. That was about 3 years ago. It happens my friend. Take care.

Bummer on the glass. One of my fears with my LX! Mine is still working great after buying in 2021 mostly from watching your vids!
I swore off Wyze when they abandoned their first gen products after known design flaws slowly killed all of mine.
Love the Smirnoff Ice cardboard! lol lol lol 😂
You don’t happen to have KTAC insurance on the tractor do you? That would be a free repair… but I’m guessing you don’t. KTAC is amazing. I kept a 0% loan on my LX just to have it. I can’t find any insurance that touches it. Covers more and covers it off my property unlike most. Nobody I’ve talked to has ever had a denial. Dealer says a local guy rolled his tractor the first week he had it. KTAC fixed it.

It’s not apparent to me that glass that low behind the seat is useful. Rather than replace the glass, would you consider installing a durable solid piece of material? Storage behind the seat seems to be helpful, just remove the risk of broken glass. This is a great opportunity to make that Kubota better and more useful to you.

Sorry to see that. Reminds me of a few years ago during my first winter with my B2650 I blew out the front windshield, $1200 repair.
What I think happened is that I had been blowing a lot of we snow around the yard and it covered over the holes in the cab. when I put it away in the garage and closed the door on the tractor the pressure had nowhere to go and blew out the front glass. I always keep the rear window unlatched now. Sucks to learn the hard way for sure.

You would be better using a ratchet strap and something under the strap to spread out the pressure against the glass. Even pressure is your friend ! And don't go crazy with to much pressure it only takes a few pounds spread out evenly.

Gord I live in Florida and this Friday will be about 24 F. Now about the Generator . I have been hit with a few Hurricanes but never invested in any Gen. Then I was hit with Irma . I knew it was time to invest in a Generator so I did my research. To be honest if most people would do their own research they would not be mad about what they buy. I knew because of Irma The cost of a Generator would be way to high so I waited till there was no threat of any power outage anywhere in the U.S. While waiting I did my research. Now what I am about to tell you will blow your mind and I'm sure a lot of others. I decided to buy a Weston House 10,000 Watt Gen with a 6 1/2 gallon gas tank . This Gen is remote start push button start and pull start. Now I have been hit with just recently 2 other Hurricanes and I used this Gen. On a full tank of gas it rant over 18 hours. Running everything in my house. A/C 2 refrigerator's Microwave lights Computer Stove and what ever I wanted to use that needed power.
I paid less the 1000 for this new and for an extra few hundred I could have bought a duel Gen that ran on gas or Propane. This is why people need to do their own research. The Duel Gen was worse. A propane tank that you use for like a gas grill is about 24 dollars and that will run the Gen 4 hours 6 if you are real lucky. But the gas part of the Duel Gen only runs 12 hours on a full tank of gas.
The Gen I have I ran for about 9 days and I did not use any oil. Truth is I never had to add any oil and it is still showing it is full. This Gen is over 10 years old and it runs like I just bought it last week. Here is the trick you need to have the mind set of it is better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it. Do I need 10,000 watts? NO!!! but because I have it when I am running it the Gen is not working hard meaning it will last longer.

Don't feel bad. I have a Tektite cab on my B2620 and I forgot I had one of the wing windows open and ran it into a large tree branch. a couple of weeks later I had both of the glass doors leaning up against my fence beside the garage. Got up one morning and found that a wind gust had blown them both over and smashed them both. That cost me $2,000.00 after shipping to get new ones. Needless to say the doors are now stored in the shed when not on the tractor. I feel you pain. At least it's a small window that you don't have to replace right away.

I could be wrong, but upon a cursory parts lookup, the lower rear window for an LX2610HSDC is only around $127 U.S. Certainly not peanuts, but definitely less expensive than I expected. For reference, I snapped a plow marker when I was plowing in around 0°F on Monday. I was shocked to find that dealers wanted ~$150 for a new set. Ultimately, I found a new set for ~$60 that claims to be nearly indestructible and went with those. Hopefully, you dodged a financial bullet with this mishap.

Gord, what are you doing up there in the woods? You’re sending “FRIGID” air down here to southern Florida! It was a brisk 16°C this morning on the beach!
Nice comparison of the cameras! And good luck with your window replacement when the time comes! As ever your friend! 👏

Is the glass there for hitching up purposes ? Only ?
Might you leave it protected by the cardboard after the new glass installation?
If that's the worst that happens in 2025 you are doing fantastic.
    Best wishes all winter long

I broke the big one the first year I had my tractor 1400. And I broke the bottom one a couple years later. The glass was around 250-300. I am glad I had the Kubota insurance. Well worth the money.

I wonder if it is not the hazard triangle that hit the window, well the mounting bracket.
I have seen/heard mine hit it depending on the position of the 3 point hitch. Because of this, I removed mine.

OUCH or OOPS or Shucky Durnit , there goes your coffee money for the month. All though that does happen you'll think about it more when going off road or to the neighbors . It will quit hurting when you throw away the cardboard replacement so the guys up there will quit ribbing you. Glad to finally get a better look at your Moose and yearling. Great work from your security cameras, well most of them anyway. Keep up the good videos and the great things you do around there. Great generator you have too, that's awesome.. Fred and family.

I know how dangerous it is to keep unsecured items in the back of a vehicle (incase of an accident), but I'd never thought about the shelf behind the seat in my Kubota. Something to think about.

I don't remember which Wyze cam you have, we have 15 Wyze cams at our house monitoring the outdoors, goats and chickens. There is a setting called Detections Settings where you can set the detection sensitivity (Close to Far), the image sensitivity (low to high), the Detection Zone (on or off), if the detection zone is set Off then you basically have the whole camera view, if the detection zone is set on, then you have to set the PIR Effective Area to what you want detected. It may be the whole camera area or you can specify just a small area. We have a few areas where we have a lot of activity that we don't need to record, they happen all the time, maybe from wind or of vehicles going by, just things that we don't care to record. Maybe that PIR Effective Area needs to be tweaked. Thanks for sharing your misfortune with the window, I get it when something like that happens, it's just a really bad day. Keep warm!

I have 8 Reolink camera's with one being the Argus PT solar powered camera. All the other camera's are plugged in for power. I've had the Argus PT for almost 3 years now and I'm having an issues with it connecting. I think the solar panel may be bad and is not providing power to the camera battery. I'll have to take the camera down and see if it charges plugged into power and charges. I also have a Wyze indoor camera and I'm not a fan of their camera's also. But what I really do like from Wyze is their wifi plugs (indoor & outdoor) and light bulbs. These work great all the time. My tractor is in a detached garage with the coolant heater plugged into a Wyze wifi plug that I can turn on from anywhere. I also have some lights in the garage I can turn on. I also have 2 Wyze outdoor wifi plugs that power my heated mats & stairs for my porch.

Hi Gord. Do you have the Kubota insurance? You would be surprised what they cover. My dealer told me that a guy left his door open while backing up and clipped a tree...not once, but twice, and Kubota insurance covered it both times.

That is the reason i cant own a cab tractor. If i would have a cab tractor i would have smashed out the front window for sure already!
Gord you need a garage. Makes working on equipment so much better in below 0 temps.
I worked in autobody and have replaced my share of windshields. If it's just urethane then you just cut off 90% of the glue and prime it with a special primer, squirt on the urethane then press the window on and tape it in place so it doesn't sag. And to help it cure faster you can squirt the urethane with water to speed up the cure time.

This is the biggest reason that I went with an open ROPS tractor, being that I work mostly in the woods.
BUT, I have to admit, watching you working in the snow makes me wish I had a cab tractor. AND, it would help keep the ground hornets off of me in the summertime!

Unlucky for sure. I’m a BX 2200 guy. Judging by what you dragged out from underneath and around your seat…kabota still has storage issues. As mentioned already you’re going to have to add a toolbox of some sort. For all the good things that kabota is known for…..storage isn’t one of them. Good luck
