We’ve got, cardboard on the sides, all four sides. Also cardboard on the lid and also the base. We can see the cardboard is folded to make edges which help create a box shape. We have some tape to keep the bottom and the top closed. Lovely cut-outs make sort of handles for lifting. Great stuff ...
The best thing with these Ikea Sonos is speakers is they do not have Alexa built in, and cost less, because of you already have an Alexa device you can use the Sonos skill to control and play music to the speakers :)
I"m really impressed with this speaker so far. It's a little buggy on the app side of things, but IKEA has a great track record for working things out. I really like the wall mount option, too.
It's the Sonos app, as they are pretty much Sonos speakers, and the app is renowned for being buggy, try something like connecting it via airwaves and play directly from Spotify for a better result.
@@TheTechGiantTH-cam hey! First of all sorry for my bad English. Second, try out the sound quality when you set the bass to the max level. You can do it in a few easy steps. First go to my sonos. Then you'll see the "EQ,,.
Not a bad little speaker that for the price. Also, i did a little screen test on my C8 yesterday. I have had quite a lot of banding since i bought it but not that i noticed it very much during normal viewing. So after running test patterns. It's gone! Completely gone. A perfectly clean screen after nearly a year. I really get what they mean by "Organic" now. Glad i didn't go through the hassle of returning it now. Cheers for this video.
You and Flossy Carter are my go-to for recomendations. Utterly trustworthy, very entertaining and always informative. Quick question, I know you've reviewed Sky Stream, but did you manage to get your hands on a Sky Glass telly? Thanks again
Simon Hazelden yeah sorry about that and I should have done like you said,i was too busy focusing on how you would use it from an android Perspective, even though i was using an iPad but with the Sonos app like an Android user would.
Tech and Travel well, you’ve got your follow up video subject now at least. I’m still waiting for Bose to pull their finger out with the Airplay 2 SoundTouch update they’ve been promising since Airplay 2 was announced. They still say it’s coming, but no idea if it ever will and no schedule from Bose given. I’m loathed to replace what I’ve already spent hundreds of pounds on, but if the Airplay 2 in the Ikea Sonos is a flawless experience and means you don’t have to use the Sonos app, then Ikea have at least made it worth consideration.
I personally prefer the echo studio as it has more base, but then it does cost quite a bit more so to be expected. Did you see my Amazon Echo Studio unboxing video?
@@TheTechGiantTH-cam Oh yes, but I hesitate between buying the echo studio alone or buying two Ikea Symfonisk. What do you think ? Thank you for your prompt response !
@@vincenth1875 That is a tough question and one i couldn't answer as i have not tried out 2 of the Ikea speakers at the same time ,the again you could always get 2 Echo Studios ,problem solved
I have a question on the Symfonisk: does changing the volume on the speaker reflect in Airplay 2 on your device, or are they independent? With our current setup, someone turns a speaker down in one of our rooms, and the next time you play music, you are trying to figure out why no music is coming through in that room. Thanks, and great review!
If i turned down the volume down on the speaker the volume would go down on any connected device and vice versa. So no you don't have to turn up the speaker and then turn up the volume on a device to get max volume.
I just paired mine with a galaxy j3, everything sounds nice. I was wanting to know. Does it only play through wifi and must I stay connected to the either net in order for it to stay connected. I did see something during connection that once it's paired you could move it anywhere in the house. I unhooked the either net cord and got no play, thinking of uninstalling and re installing to see what happens, what about bluetooth play?

No doubt the Sonus walked the floor with Alexa and it is a good product. However these gadgets are not for me and I would have no use for them in my house. I actually seen a £200 Sonus speaker reviewed the other day and thought it was worth about £60 and not it's £200 price tag. But in the demonstration here you can hear that the Sonus does have quality to it without a doubt, so maybe that £200 was better than the one you have here Paul. But it's a lot of money for one speaker and I am not into Mono. To have stereo you are looking at twice the price. I can easily have my HiFi on in the living room and still hear it good enough in the kitchen. I also have wireless headphones so I can hear it anywhere in my house and even when I am outside mowing the lawn. That's why these sort of gadgets do not really interest me and even forking out £100 to £200 just to have music in your kitchen or even in the bedroom is money that could be put to another use I feel. But of course we are living in a new age where many are attracted by these gadgets and I think overall this is a quality product. Really GREAT! demo and review Paul and I think you can even see what your getting for your money with the demo you done here too and very well enjoyed.
Yeah items like this aren’t for everyone and £100 is still a fair amount of money for a single speaker, but that said if you want a fairly decent sounding speaker then i think you get good bang for your buck.
Thanks buddy, yeah Ikea isn’t normally a place i associate with speakers and was the last thing i expected to walk out with, normally i leave with just a 50p hotdog lol

This speaker is not for me, I hate the idea that I can't use a close-range Bluetooth connection with my favorite audio app and personal audio file collection. You are forced to use their app (vendor lock-in by Sonos in this case) over Wi-Fi on your phone, which gives me an uneasy feeling, since you can't really know if they are snooping on your audio listening habits or scanning you audio file collection or more. I rather stay with traditional cabled connections and Bluetooth for wireless, don't wan't all that so called smart stuff for basic audio listening.

anyway of connecting this to a tv/pc?
Can it be used with your TV, in a surround sound setup with a woofer? Like the Sonos Play Ones?
Yes you can use these as rear speakers as long as you have a playbar / playbase / beam plugged into your TV

Quick question. how do you connect 2 identical sonos symfonisk to wi-fi and make them play the same song simultinously?
Add them to a room in the sonos app then they will be a stereo pair
Could I set a couple on the floor behind the sofa and use for surround to go with my beam
I noticed the sonos app kept mentioning iOS, not Android
It works fine with both iOS and Android 😊
I was just curious since you'd mentioned using Android at the start of the video
