      It takes between 12 and 24 months to learn to be a train driver. It took me 4 years to learn to be a pipefitter and I would have to work a lot of overtime to get the kind of money train drivers get for 4 days work. I can't lie I think they are being greedy.

    Nice to Mr Mullen who from 2020-2024 claimed £689,414 in expenses complain about train drivers pay who have up to 1350 passengers sitting behind them.
    I wonder how many people he has had throw themselves in front of his desk when he’s grafting for his constituents?

    So let me see if i understand this correctly, the tory government's had strikes for year's (as a nurse i was very aware of this in the nhs) now its been 1 month and mainly strikes are being or have been resolved (depending on the union ballets) and people are complaining but labour is not not doing this fast enough? And that there being to kind to the striker? I seem to remember treating the strikers badly and doing nothing didn't work for years under the troys? What on earth is going on with these comments!

      The answer to the winter fuel payments being stopped according to Rachael Reeves is for Pensioners to claim Pension Credit. As i understand it Pensioner's can't claim Pension Credit if they have more than £10,000 in savings. 😟

    Labour are exactly right. The strikes are stopping economic growth which is worth more than the salary increases. Also, if the rail workers have disposable income they will spend it in the economy which will further help economic growth.

    Just start training new train drivers and tell the present train drivers they will be sacked when new employees are ready to take their place.

      Funny. Train drivers are trained by other drivers who are driver instructors one at a time, and it takes 12-24 months for each one. Drivers pay is a golden handcuff, so they don't leave. They cover 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 90% of those who get an assessment before any training fail.
