I love the theming of this deck because, aside from the Articuno, Misty had all of these Pokemon at some point. There was one episode where she thought her Psyduck had evolved, but it was actually just a wild Golduck pretending to be hers. It loved to show itself off in front of girls, apparently. I am a huge Pokemon nerd.
My first win against the pro CPU Charizard-ex was with only psyduck - the CPU had a bricked hand with only Charmander out, Psyduck kept it from using Prof's research and I won in two turns lol. I have a sweet spot for the duck, and Golduck is pretty great as well for an early water deck. Along with Heliolisk for thunder and Sandslash for fighting they really carried me through the CPU battles
3:50 It's the same for all 3 legendary birds. Zapdos is a consistent damage dealer with a uniquely negative downside. Moltres can oneshot most non-Ex mons, but is a massive coinflip however it works extemely well with its Ex counterpart. Also interesting to note the base versions are all 1 retreat cost which is better than their Ex version except for Zapdos Ex. My ranking in order is Moltres Ex, Articuno Ex, Articuno, Zapdos Ex, Moltres, Zapdos.
I usually run psyduck with gengar; lives 2 hits from articuno ex and can live 2 from starmie with a potion. Of course, psyduck is just a tech card here, delaying things so you get set up faster. Starmie is extremely fast already, so the small advantage you get makes or breaks games. Meanwhile, gengar is slow and you need the psyduck down, otherwise you get packed up after they draw and accelerate their gameplan.
I run a regular Articunno in my Dragonite list over Articunno Ex for a multitude of reasons. Like this deck I still run Misty since Dragonite is very energy hungry and it allows my water stalls to potentially do something while Dragonite eats.
Actually been playing the deck a ton, one thing I think you forgot to mention is that psyduck shuts down koga so you can kill a weezing. I swapped a potion for another Giovanni for some extra damage. Really fun deck and recommend it
I love these kinds of effects. Pretty crazy that it’s on a basic Pokémon considering Gengar has the same effect (albeit on a higher damage move) but you need to evolve twice before using it
But Gengar's ability is passive. If you evolve him without putting any energy just to tank for your damage dealer, he would still work. Psyduck needs a energy.
The fact that Moltres - Fire/Flying - Pokémon is NOT weak to Water, while Articuno - Ice/Flying - is weak to lightning (presumably due to flying type, but still) triggers me so much :D
Check out my dude Raven's channel. He's an great guy and very good at this game: www.youtube.com/@ravencasts/
Duck you Misty! We don't like coinflips, no ma'am, we are HARDCORE gamers that REJECT randomness and determine the outcome by our skill alone!
His deck has Misty in it though 😅
bro didn't see the misty in deck i guess
Daaaaaamn str8
I hate Misty but I love water decks so I'm kinda forced to use her

i remember that ep lmao
18:33 Relax Regis it’s just a giant Egg in a pouch, that’s Chansey’s evolutionary line’s thing. Eggs in pouches.
or a poke'PP
Love this new channel just as much as the main. Love Pokémon as well keep it up reg 🎉
I wish Regis would do pokedex entries. "He's ghastly like a ghost... but he's made of gas. So he's gastly, guys." Beautiful. Thank you, Regis.

2:20 if Regis started singing Damny Gonzalez's version of a Christmas song the atmosphere would have been very different.🤣
Raven cooked real good in the tournament
Really proud of him. He's a great dude.

Great content as always Regis!
Request for an EX tier list video, maybe with Alex

This has been the starmie build i have been on for a while more and the biggest thing i can say is that psyduck is really good.

That's funny I just played against this! Unfortunately for them I was playing Machamp and just pummeled through them on curve.
Cool idea though!
A weakness advantage tripling headache's damage is just *chefs kiss*
I use this exact deck with a lapras instead of your articuno and it works very well. Lapras gets a misty and if you’re lucky it can end game turn 1.
I would love to see you go through every pokemon card and give thoughts on their name/design.
He sorta did that during his pack opening videos.

@dark3176 oh for sure on Gengar ex, I was talking about non-ex Gengar and its attack “Bother”
Forget Mariah Carey. The holiday seaon begins when regis sings psyduck the halls
How do you do the layout for our stream? Like the Deck List on top left?
Manually create the deck list in Photoshop and add it in.
This is what I was going to make but have yet to find starmie 😢
Regis...what r these titles u cheeky cheeky man

What do you mean? No version of Articuno is weak to Water.
@@ydgmdlu Should've been "weak to lightning"; my bad, already eddited
Psyduck Golduck is great and very comparable to Shrew Slash
flipped 8 heads on a misty one time , poor dude
Late night Regis 😊
My opponent used misty and got 7 heads on Articuno, instant Lose turn 1
Hearthstone content? Meh. Marvel Snap content? Meh. Pokemon TCGP content? Meh. Regis singing Christmas tunes? Full Spotify album please.
Can't believe you didn't say "this is the duck for you" in the intro. I'm disappointed.
