Hi Alex, I am also using M17 along with a sanwa Servo and non-sanwa ESC. Have been using SXR mode for the steering channel and it works great. But for the throttle channel, we have been struggling to choose the right mode, SUX didn't seem to work for the non-sanwa ESC (not sure if it's separate issue). Was wondering which sanwa mode do you use for your ESC? Thanks for all your great videos!

My Hobbywing ESS works in SHR mode with my M12/RX482. For M17 its probably the same.

I use SHR for CH2 with my Hobbywing XR10 PRO G2 Esc.

I have a question about EXP adjustments to steering and throttle. Is it a common practice to use any degree of throttle exp? I use about 3% exp for steering and I had about 13% for throttle with 13.5 blinky on asphalt. I'm now running open 13.5 and wanted to know if using throttle exp would affect the handling as boost and turbo is now being used. Just wanted an idea if using exp on throttle would increase motor heat and if it would be of any gain in open 13.5?

I don't personally, I prefer to adjust the throttle feel in the speedo if necessary. But I know that stock racers often use positive throttle expo to make the throttle band feel punchier, even in boosted. Yes, it will make the motor run slightly hotter since the throttle will be applied "exponentially earlier".

Do you set all your end points and trim back to 100% prior to calibration?

    • @hagberg

I don't touch the end points prior to calibration.

do you have to do this for each model? I also run X-ray off road as well

No, but ideally every month, or if you've travelled with your radio where its been moved around a lot.

    Hello Alexander,
Which receiver do you use and why? What are the differents..?
    Thank you!

    • @hagberg

RX-482 or RX-491. The 491 has a faster response mode, but it comes with an external antenna, which makes it a bit trickier to mount in the car.

Since you change your radio each year, what happens to the discarded one?
