Carnaval, Op. 9, is a work by Robert Schumann for piano solo, written in 1834-1835 and subtitled Scènes mignonnes sur quatre notes (Little Scenes on Four Notes). It consists of 21 short pieces representing masked revelers at Carnival, a festival before Lent. Schumann gives musical expression to himself, his friends and colleagues, and characters from improvised Italian comedy (commedia dell'arte). He dedicated the work to the violinist Karol Lipiński. The No. 12 which I play here (A♭ major; Agitato) is an evocation of his colleague Frédéric Chopin.

Thanks Davide! I was sight reading this particular piece, so not sure how to make such a video :). But like always left/right hand separately and in slow tempo is my remedy for everything :)

I know Schumann and Chopin are very different composers, but Schumann does something for me that Chopin doesn’t. I am aware it is quite the opposite for most people however.

Buena interpretación, pero a mi parecer NO espléndida... encuentro que debería interpretarse con menos cesuras y rubatos, porque a veces no se entiende mucho el tempo
Gracias :) Sobre el tempo... supongo que es una preferencia personal. Cuando escuchas al gran pianista tocar esto, todos suenan diferentes :) Algunos tocan más rubato y otros son más estrictos. Esa es la belleza de la interpretación. De lo contrario, todo sonará igual y ese no es el punto :) ¡Los mejores deseos!
