I wish i would have seen this as a beginner 😭😭 it took me 1 year to book my first client and by the time i did i had little confidence and was a nervous wreck!!! People don’t want to go to an artist who is a beginner charging full price with no portfolio! I spent so much money on my supplies which ended up expiring without me even using them 🤧😤. I’m Thankful for your videos with tips and tricks that helped build my confidence . Blessings to you!
The video was very helpful my question is for the free clients I guess you would probably do that in your home what about when you get paying clients? Are people going to want to come to my home ALOT of videos said paying clients only want to go to a salon, what about state licenses for working out of your home, how much on average does it cost to rent a chair/room/booth in a salon? I really want to take a certified class but 4k is alot and it's a huge risk and many questions, I dont know any microblading artists to ask personally...please help! Thank you for the great steps !
there's a whole lotta questions in there and im happy to help. if you want to schedule a call to discuss microblading training and any of your concerns- im happy to do so. Might be easier 👌🏼 just email me 👉🏼 kristi@bossbrowsla.com
Personally I think you need to do more than 5 free. I think 20 free brows is probably more realistic to really get confident and under stand your pressure and your positioning. I was certified in March, and I did 20 free. Now charging 660 including the Touchup… but even at that cheaper price in Australia it’s hard to get clients. I think it’s important for new artists to really be open minded to learning how to do marketing after you finish your course as I think this is what really gets frustrating once you are ready to take in paying clients. Also, be aware that you will be much slower than an experienced artist so you really can’t do as many as you think in one day for a while until you perfect your flow and craft.
its a good suggestion. but 5 free clients means 10 services (bc I tell my students to always include the touch up appointment otherwise I don't feel like the eyebrows are completely finished) However, to each their own. Doing more is always a GREAT idea IF you are practicing perfectly. another thing I tell my students, is practice only counts if you are practicing perfect technique! 🤗
You are amazing!! Thanks for all your tips... Can you talk about How do you choose the pigment color for your clients and what pigments do you recommend?
Great video. I wish I had known what kind of ideal model to have first. My first 2 had the thickest and bushiest brows. So hard to map and blade. I thought i was just incompetent! My next one lined up will be much better.
Yay! Thank you! You are so sweet. I have done my fair share of trainings from different companies and you're right, liking the educator's vibe/teaching style is very important. I offer online microblading training course and a in person group training course. here is the link to the training deets 👉🏼 bossbrowsla.com/training-1
thank you for this. I'm looking into career paths and this one has really sparked my attention. What are the requirements to start your own microblading business? I heard you needed your esthetician license but is that all along with a microblading course?
You do not need an esthetic license. I’m not sure where you live so it will be different depending on that. Email me and I can give you info on my training courses. 👍🏻 kristi@bossbrowsla.com
i love this video ! I'm planning on becoming a microblade artist. I just got mine done, at a discounted rate bcuz she was someone that just got certified. I feel like I had to direct her a lot of what to do with my brows, even after showing her pictures of my natural brow. But even then when I tried perfecting the shape and even bringing up one brow being a little bit more arched than the other, she said it looked fine according to the measurements, and I was just so tired bcuz of how long the mapping took for her. I was also disappointed that we'd have to do a touch up and she would charge me for it! I'm not quite sure how to address to her that I don't think it's right for me to have to pay. If you have any recommendations or tips on how I should approach my artist regarding this, that would be of so much help!
ya im sorry I don't know. I always include my touch up but if she was doing a free or discounted service bc she is still learning its obviously going to take her more time. she hasn't had a chance to build her confidence yet. so just keep that in mind and be patient with her.
Just wondering if you have ideas on how i could find models for our free service? other than a few friends and I don’t have much for family out here. Also wondering if we have to pass a test or something for your class certificate? Thank you! Great vids 🤗
just ask anybody and everyone on IG and FB. Heres a good video on how to get new clients. this will help with ideas also. 🤗 👉🏼th-cam.com/video/ua1glTioSHg/w-d-xo.html
@@bossbrowsla I’m sorry I meant models. What should I post to find models and should I let them know I am a beginner and how should I go about that. As far for your video I’m going to watch it now !
Hey! So I done a microblading course before lockdown and I felt like I really grasped it but these videos are so empowering and helpful, however I hope you can help.. I feel when I practice now on fake skin I’m not depositing enough pigment it’s like I can’t get it on the blade properly again and I’m getting frustrated! Do you have any advice? Thanks x
well im not sure what pigments you're using but you only want to use a small amount. depending on the pigment- make sure to shake well before each use. let the pigment drop on the skin first by lightly taping it on the skin and then slide the blade.
@@bossbrowsla thank you so much, I find it so easy to draw the hair strokes on the fake skin but see actually doing on a live model with hairs!! Wow.. it’s hard 😂 xx
Did you go to business school to get familiar on how to run your microblading business? Bc my dad is telling me to go to college if I want to run any type of business and I’m just curious if you did that.
I don't want to tell you your dad is wrong but I don't want to get. in trouble BUT SCHOOL WILL NOT TEACH YOU THAT.... lol. wish they did. read books. that helps me

Hi! , so for those 5 clients you take for free, would u charge them regular price for touch up? How much should follow up appt be? Due to booking purposes, when you schedule future appts, i believe you said in the other video you charge them 50% of the procedure if they cancel last minute? Is it a good idea if they leave a deposit towards procedure to secure their spot and your time? Thanks! I love your videos! Sooo informative and helpful 💓
I recommend for your first 5 clients doing the touch up fir free. This way you are doing 10 services for free. I know it sounds like a lot but you will learn so much from the touch up. This is when you see the healed results. Usually there is a lot of perfecting to do at these apps (especially as a beginner). And a deposit is a great idea. Just make sure you have clear policy. Like how much time before their app until they can’t get that money back? 24 hour? 48?
it really depends on where you live. Its different everywhere. As a microblading artist, it's up to you to stay up to date with the county's/state laws. 👌🏼
I agree! But the academy that I'm training with ,they charge students for this 5 model prosedurs !$85!!!! Do u believe that! So if l do for free I have to pay $425 from my pocket! Tel me what should I do to get the client to finish this ..... apparentiship program?!
well I'm sure they charge students bc they're paying for all of the supplies/room/rent, etc... however I do not know what the situation is. These are just my recommendations when you branch off on your own. I would do whatever you think is fair. 👌🏼
are you referring to clients that can't afford it? if so, I would just tell them to save their money. you never want to go "cheap" when picking an artist
