Excellent mechanical aptitude! You must be an engineer or very gifted....really like the laminated struts. Did you laminate the main spars as well? I'm mulling over building a piet project incorporating solid ply ribs with cap strips and lightening holes.
Hi. thanks for the compliment, my spars are built like the beams in a flat roof school gym. 1/2" X 1/2" spruce running full length of the spar with a cross piece every 8" and diaganals between. put solid blocks where my hardware bolted on for the struts and wing root. then covered with the same 1/4" plywood on each side all splices follow the 1x12 scarf splice rule. You can email me i have lots of pics I'll share making ribs too
Pietenpol aircraft company, have plans for the full size piet. Also if you can find me on face book i have more info. i visited Bernie Pietenpols grave
I would love to know more about your dual ignition corvair, what sort of diode did you use? I've been wanting to do the same and didn't know it was possible!
Summit racing has the diode for the dual ignition and its a solid state pickup across from the points, check the flycorvair.com website think theres a pic
Thank you for posting....I learned a lot from this video!
Nice job 👍 thanks for sharing this. Good health and God bless
