I can't really afford that right now, but I would really like one of these. I live in the water in North Carolina.What would be the most affordable way to get into one of these? Build a kit?

Having built several Buccaneers I can see you have an issue the elevators and rudder shrunk so much they are distorted. The gaps are too big.
$25 GRAND IS STEEP AF !😮
Yes it is in this market... Just buy a piper cub instead...
