Think there are probably many where sims 4 were their first game, mine was sims 1 then I had some really long break and got in on sims 4 at beginning I will admit enjoyed it. But at time went on I started to realize how shallow gameplay was and whenever something new cam every little of it really amounted to any worth while gameplay, then I feel like problems just been building up from there with broken releases, desperate measure feature added to cull the growing disappointments, which then turn into other disappointment since features are half assed in and never really get improved. Like fears and wants, plus neighborhood stories which feel so broken they're not really fun having on. To some degree you can't even avoid neighborhood stories since some its feature work even when disabled. Never getting fixed and seemingly abandoned, I think many just already invested so many money into packs they're finding it hard to really admit or move on from it. Think many have subconsciously moved on, if it were not the case people wouldn't be so excited about competitions like Paralives and Life by you, if they were indeed completely content with the stage of sims 4. I think its a denial mechanism to try and save face from having to admit some including myself threw way too much money at sims 4 franchise compared to what we got in return. Think others are slowly starting to wake up to this too from the cope, seeing stuff like what they plan to add into life by you on release, which Maxis basically be selling of as pack chunks when we were told stuff like. Then cut into packs were so it could get fleshed more out and result in more meaningful content than if it were shoved into same pack together, which more and more now seems to been a provenly false lie to string people along and push higher priced content for less.
I wouldn't say The Sims 3 is perfect, but it definitely has A LOT MORE going on for it than The Sims 4 has, and... it's so frustrating because, there are features from The Sims 4 that I like and not having them kinda bothers me in 3, but then... When I go back to 4 I get reminded of how lackluster it is, how many different packs I need to have a good experience, and, in the end I get bored super quickly because of its overall experience plus the feeling of wasted opportunity... 🤡
I'm in my 30s, I've been playing since OG Sims. I don't even touch Sims 4 anymore, pretty sure it's so damn broken at this point that there's no reason to. Can't play half the packs they've sold cause they're busted. I used to sit around for ten hours playing Sims 2, loved the way Sims 3 expanded on that, and then we took a huge ass step backwards for no reason. Oh wait, there was a reason. They turned what was supposed to be a mobile game into a janky ass 'full game' cause Sims City online fiasco ruined their plans. And EA is shit, don't forget that.

I play sims 2 super collection because it's available on my Mac and while it doesn't have the open world, I still find the character stories complex and fun. I don't currently have a computer that can run sims 3. But every time I see a sims 2 baby and watch sims 4 gameplay with babies, it reminds me of the love put into older sims games (dated graphics aside). I know they "fixed" Sims 4 with toddlers and much later having babies age into "infants" (which was really just a patch on their original failed baby design), but in Sims 2 it was just a part of sim life base-game experience. It wasn't a fix they made later.
Yeah it's crazy to hear people say Sims 4 is their favorite of the series (looking at you simsie). I still like building and cas but the gameplay is boring without challenges, and even still it feels shallow. And the world design and constant loading screens is the absolute worst part. She was one of my top content creators back then and it broke my heart when she passed away, and then watching her sister struggling and trying to keep her legacy alive... It was too much for me to continue, but I never forgot about her. This is so bizarre to hear about the racism, I had no idea. I remember Quxxn hiding her appearance and it did make me sad she felt the need to do that. So I understand that a little better now. I've been out of the loop on Sims for years but recently watched some videos. I watched your wizard school video too, it was pretty cool although I'm not super into supernatural stuff. I lost respect for this community when they first leaked what the Sims in Sims 4 looked like and everyone applauded how “realistic” it looked. They literally look like cartoon characters compared to Sims 3. I lost further respect when I couldn’t play the Sims 4 base game for more than 20 minutes because of the shallow, hollow gameplay that I needed to fabricate and imagine in my head instead of seeing it play out in the game. I have NO IDEA what people play in the Sims 4, cuz it sure isn’t family/legacy gameplay, or anything fulfilling. And I couldn’t care less what they do with Sims 5, cuz this stupid community will suck them off no matter what. There was specific trend that seemed to happen in the early 2000s when online gaming first became popular. I asked my brother why he didn't use a head set & microphone when he played online, he said it was because when the others players heard a "black sounding voice" or knew you were black so to speak, they started calling you all kinds of n-words. Black people can't escape racism even when they are trying to have fun. So it explains why some people don't want to advertise themselves & get judged.

I’ve said for YEARS NOW, every sims 4 expansion pack is disgusting and borderline unusable, like i legitimately own every one except for “parenthood” and the new horse ranch expansion andd i regret all my purchases. sims 4 is AMAZING for build/buy and CAS but all game play it’s lacking depth, i’ve never gotten attached to a sims 4 household, ever. Especially with Lilsimsie being the first simtuber shoved down my throat and her videos being awkwardly enthusiastic for such mediocre content. The aims 4 gameplay is lacking and lacks depth and I hate that it’s not open world. Mods and cc are the only reasons I play.
I think the sims 4 base game doesn't have a lot of things on purpose. So you get bored and waste like a thousand dollars on everything 🙃 I was really excited when it was free, but it's almost empty and repetitive I got bored lol. I don't hate it, I just find it kinda boring. I think if I buy the packs I will eventually get bored again, or maybe it's just me. I get bored with a lot of things.

It's not getting better, they're not listening to people, they haven't learned from the sims 4. Paralives and Life by You are going to wipe the sims off the map. Both games are coming with seasons, pets (paralives coming with horses), Life by You is open world, all base game. I can't see EA giving up two of its most cash grabbing pack ideas (sims 4 made like 4 dlcs based on animals alone).

So, Sims 2 and 3 for me. I tried, again and again, to enjoy Sims 4. I have it and several packs.... I can't do it. It's a trash fire.

I play it as a hobby then after 6 hours of playing, I log off EA app and never play the game for another 4 weeks. I really miss the open world and level of customization in the sims 3. I played the sims 4 when it first came out, but it got really boring and generic. I went back to sims 3. I'd even play sims 2, at least it has personality.

The sims 4 has some amazing meshes that are so easy to convert over to the sims 3, but we jus keep getting the same copy and paste white girl cozy cc, like how many more cottage living rocking chairs does the community need here lmao. Idk, like I'm trying to revive it for simmers of color, by converting more ethnic stuff for indigenous, hispanic, korean, japanese, chinese, african, african american. Exactly and this speaks levels to me as a Black Female Simmer. I’ve been a long time fan of the Sims for almost 10+ years. And playing the game made me feel isolated because a lack of diverse options for players who are POCs mainly Black American or African players of the game. It made me somewhat sad that there was a lack of representation unlike the non-POC sim players that had all the good representation and diversity. On how they gave their racial minority characters in these installments poor quality, poor textured, and mediocre hairstyles such as cornrows, Bantu knots, box braids (that were never added to these games unless you downloaded a custom content hair from a Black CC Creator or Simmer. We had to download all of our hairstyles from Black CC Content Creators such as Xmiramira, EbonixSimmer, and other content creators. Which we need more Black and POC content creators to create more accurate and good quality hairstyles so we can put it on our Sims. The game is so whitewashed, but what do you expect if majority of the fan base is White, Straight, and Cisgender…lmao 😭😭

I think the newest pack is the peak of lacking content compaired to Sims 3, horses were part of pets pack, now they are basicly selling same horses minus open world and ability to control them as an own expansion pack with recycled features. 😬 Sims 4 is good with challenges + all packs but that explains how less there is content on itself, you need own imagination to enjoy the game. I remember getting sucked into Sims 3 for hours just playing one expansion pack. And in the Sims 3 the lore is so deep and sim townies do things with meaning when in Sims 4 everything is randomized like with neighbourhood stories, og townie families will get random kids or adopt bunch of kids and pets without any precoded situations. But I think it all comes down to having a bad base, Sims 4 was built to be an online game and instead of moving the release date, they released very bad base game. Even with all these years, base game is still bad and the game breaks so easily when they build new things on top of bad base. Now they just recycle items and gameplay features to new packs, there are same features found in different packs and it's getting to a point a lot of simmers are not okey with it anymore. I used to be excited for new packs but after getting let down over and over again with very shallow packs, you reach the limit and I think a lot of simmers are at that point.

I have played with the Sims Franchise in between 2003-2014... and with the modded Sims 2 in between 2020-2022. I've played with the Sims 4 for a month when it came out and... well the game was very shallow and childish and after EA ruined the Sim City franchise... I've had a feeling that this game will turn out to be a failure... I was partially right... Sims 4 is on Life Support and it begs to die, yet their cultlike fans are keeping it alive to suffer. I was not watching a lot of Sim TH-camrs. The only one I really liked to watch was PleasantCindy... She reminded me how great the Sims 2 and The Sims 3 were. Sims 2 had so much in-depth gameplay, and after downloading some wholesome, realistic mods, and CC... it felt so lifelike (Like a freakin' Life Simulator should be like). The Gameplay Method is easy to follow, yet complex and their expansion packs had content. The devs were focusing a lot on creating a structural system. (Aspirations, Hobby System, Chemistry System, Interests)... But one thing is important... "The Sims 2 is playable, and enjoyable without mods too." It's sad to see, that real and passionate Simmers are struggling and getting frustrated by the newest edition in the Franchise...

The one thing I’ll say about the sims 3 as a player myself, is just if you broke n got a lower end computer, I can only play a couple packs at a time, so that does irk me a bit, but even then I have a lot of fun playing it and yes mods do help absolutely

I'm so happy that I decided to go back to playing the Sims 3 again and will never look back at the Sims 4, sadly the franchise as a whole died 10 years ago. The current management at EA and Maxis have become very egotistical to only show how conceited they are towards the fans. Me personally I like all the sims games I’ve played for different reasons (sims 2-4 ) and that includes the medieval one to lol yes the base game for sims 4 is trash ( you need seasons to make it playable) but it’s just like with other games I play ( call of duty madden gta etc ) some games you have to add a lil more of yourself into it(imagination) like gta 5 been out for like a decade now and you still doing the same thing since day one pvp or missions but some people get creative with their gameplay that’s what you have to do with sims and you always had to like yea sims 3 had more game play butttttttt towards the end( closer towards you middle) it got bad like very very bad which is why the sims 4 got green lit like that game was crashing nothing was working gameplay got repetitive ( just like sims 4 ) but that’s going to happen when you play a game for multiple years . My whole thing is ( and as someone that codes and understands how hard it is especially when from what I heard this wasn’t the goal of how the game was supposed to be) this a decent way to get thru IRL stuff
Honestly I played The Sims 4 just because of what I saw on Sims 3 I honestly thought they would do what they did in Sims 3 but honestly 4 it's not really that good like the witches pact in sims3 that was mainly because I wanted that in 3 The witches looked all great and cool and there was like great spells but in 4 there's just not that many good spells in 4 and also like the werewolves and vampires for the vampires are fine but the werewolfs looks so uninteresting there's so many bugs in the game and literally it just gets boring front long time I even stopped playing The Sims 4 because I was just too bored of it I still haven't even played it that much and the packs are always so expensive in like they could have just bring down the the prices of bit and the community in The Sims are just too the weird and toxic also feel like 4 she's got more bad due time
I left the Sims after the Sims 4 release because real Simmers knew how bad this game was. I'm back 10 years later and the game is even more of a disaster. So I just build, playtest, upload, then leave.

Sims 4 sucks compared to The Sims 3. The best aspect of the Sims 4 is the building mode. The Sims 4 has no open world, no create a style, and absurd amounts of DLC that would take a decade for any reasonable person to buy. The Sims 4 is one of the games that began the era of complacency in gaming.
Actually got into a lighthearted debate with my sister who prefers the sims 4 over 3. After a lengthy discussion we figured out why we had such a difference in opinion. She does a 70/30 split of building and gameplay while I'm the opposite...so I guess the sims 4 is just for people who like making pretty houses.

I never got into sims 3 but completely agree sims 4 is a really shallow bland experience where you have to challenge yourself mentally to find fun, because the gameplay loop isn't particular fun once you get unlocked stuff and earn a bit of money. i grew up on sims 4. been playing since i was 10. sims 4 is not only not my favorite sims game, but its not even my favorite game in general. yet its the only thing i play aside from osu. It really does feel like im just playing with barbies. ive made that statement "its like playing with my barbies" many times. even when i was younger. the fact that my mind defaults to barbie dolls when someone asks me about sims 4 is a sign of a problem. i tried out sims 3 a week ago and the main thing i noticed, is that i didnt have to queue up interactions constantly and monitor my sims. they did stuff on their own. one thing i also must say is that yes, i do find the building fun. after watching this video and thinking about that.......building is NOT the definition of a life sim game. its a nice little part of it yes but thats all the sims 4 seems to be focused on. i still havent played sims 3 enough to say wheter or not i enjoy it but i have a good feeling i will most definetly enjoy it over the sims 4.
I like the sims 4 but only with a crap ton of mods 😂 but sims 3 and 2 are way better. Sims 4 is EA trying to squeeze as much money out of people as they can by releasing packs that should have just been in the base game. And then the updates and new packs break the game.
yess!!!!! literally as you said i build then i shut the game down. it needs so many mods to been enjoyable and even then its nothing compared to sims 1-3. My personal favorite is 2 but 3 is close up there. 4 is such a let down, i like the building mechanics but i much prefer gameplay depth. you're spot on that the sims 3 was just so advanced for our computers thats why people complained. sims 4 players are very delusional and it's depressing how many creators CONTINUE to support new packs, this video was before the for rent and the fiasco after that and people still advertise new packs to their following while in the same breath say the game is unplayable
I’ve played every single The Sims games and two of the Sim City games. I grew up with this shit. I wish they would implement the customization of The Sims 3 that we had with the color and pattern swatch ability into the CAS and build mode systems of The Sims 4. It would be awesome to be able to have same woods for furniture and also get the right shade of colors because they are just off.

Think there are probably many where sims 4 were their first game, mine was sims 1 then I had some really long break and got in on sims 4 at beginning I will admit enjoyed it. But at time went on I started to realize how shallow gameplay was and whenever something new cam every little of it really amounted to any worth while gameplay, then I feel like problems just been building up from there with broken releases, desperate measure feature added to cull the growing disappointments, which then turn into other disappointment since features are half assed in and never really get improved. Like fears and wants, plus neighborhood stories which feel so broken they're not really fun having on. To some degree you can't even avoid neighborhood stories since some its feature work even when disabled. Never getting fixed and seemingly abandoned, I think many just already invested so many money into packs they're finding it hard to really admit or move on from it.
Think many have subconsciously moved on, if it were not the case people wouldn't be so excited about competitions like Paralives and Life by you, if they were indeed completely content with the stage of sims 4. I think its a denial mechanism to try and save face from having to admit some including myself threw way too much money at sims 4 franchise compared to what we got in return. Think others are slowly starting to wake up to this too from the cope, seeing stuff like what they plan to add into life by you on release, which Maxis basically be selling of as pack chunks when we were told stuff like. Then cut into packs were so it could get fleshed more out and result in more meaningful content than if it were shoved into same pack together, which more and more now seems to been a provenly false lie to string people along and push higher priced content for less.
I wouldn't say The Sims 3 is perfect, but it definitely has A LOT MORE going on for it than The Sims 4 has, and... it's so frustrating because, there are features from The Sims 4 that I like and not having them kinda bothers me in 3, but then... When I go back to 4 I get reminded of how lackluster it is, how many different packs I need to have a good experience, and, in the end I get bored super quickly because of its overall experience plus the feeling of wasted opportunity... 🤡

I used to sit around for ten hours playing Sims 2, loved the way Sims 3 expanded on that, and then we took a huge ass step backwards for no reason. Oh wait, there was a reason. I play sims 2 super collection because it's available on my Mac and while it doesn't have the open world, I still find the character stories complex and fun. I don't currently have a computer that can run sims 3. But every time I see a sims 2 baby and watch sims 4 gameplay with babies, it reminds me of the love put into older sims games (dated graphics aside). I know they "fixed" Sims 4 with toddlers and much later having babies age into "infants" (which was really just a patch on their original failed baby design), but in Sims 2 it was just a part of sim life base-game experience. It wasn't a fix they made later.

She was one of my top content creators back then and it broke my heart when she passed away, and then watching her sister struggling and trying to keep her legacy alive... It was too much for me to continue, but I never forgot about her. This is so bizarre to hear about the racism, I had no idea. I had no idea that Quxxn was black or that that was the reason she didn’t do face cam. I remember watching her channel back when I was super obsessed with Sims 3 to learn what was in the DLC. Cause she went through the items pretty meticulously and I swear she did something with her graphics cause no one else I watched had pixels that clean.
There was specific trend that seemed to happen in the early 2000s when online gaming first became popular. I asked my brother why he didn't use a head set & microphone when he played online, he said it was because when the others players heard a "black sounding voice" or knew you were black so to speak, they started calling you all kinds of n-words. Black people can't escape racism even when they are trying to have fun. So it explains why some people don't want to advertise themselves & get judged.

That’s right fren wake it up! I haven’t been playing sims 4 very long but as soon as I joined the community I knew something was off. Especially with Lilsimsie being the first simtuber shoved down my throat and her videos being awkwardly enthusiastic for such mediocre content. The aims 4 gameplay is lacking and lacks depth and I hate that it’s not open world. Mods and cc are the only reasons I play.

I think the sims 4 base game doesn't have a lot of things on purpose. So you get bored and waste like a thousand dollars on everything 🙃 I was really excited when it was free, but it's almost empty and repetitive I got bored lol. I don't hate it, I just find it kinda boring. I think if I buy the packs I will eventually get bored again, or maybe it's just me. I get bored with a lot of things.

It's not getting better, they're not listening to people, they haven't learned from the sims 4. Paralives and Life by You are going to wipe the sims off the map. Both games are coming with seasons, pets (paralives coming with horses), Life by You is open world, all base game. I can't see EA giving up two of its most cash grabbing pack ideas (sims 4 made like 4 dlcs based on animals alone).

So, Sims 2 and 3 for me. I tried, again and again, to enjoy Sims 4. I have it and several packs.... I can't do it. It's a trash fire.

You said something very important about the content. On the surface, Sims 4 has a lot of content. But when you take a closer look, this impression fades very quickly. Most of the gameplay features are very shallow and half-heartedly integrated. Sims 4 offers the most for builders. As a life simulation, however, Sims 4 fails across the board in my opinion. The game reminds me more of a dollhouse simulator. Nothing more...
I really miss the open world and level of customization in the sims 3. I played the sims 4 when it first came out, but it got really boring and generic. I went back to sims 3. I'd even play sims 2, at least it has personality.

The sims 4 has some amazing meshes that are so easy to convert over to the sims 3, but we jus keep getting the same copy and paste white girl cozy cc, like how many more cottage living rocking chairs does the community need here lmao. Idk, like I'm trying to revive it for simmers of color, by converting more ethnic stuff for indigenous, hispanic, korean, japanese, chinese, african, african american. Exactly and this speaks levels to me as a Black Female Simmer. I’ve been a long time fan of the Sims for almost 10+ years. And playing the game made me feel isolated because a lack of diverse options for players who are POCs mainly Black American or African players of the game. It made me somewhat sad that there was a lack of representation unlike the non-POC sim players that had all the good representation and diversity. On how they gave their racial minority characters in these installments poor quality, poor textured, and mediocre hairstyles such as cornrows, Bantu knots, box braids (that were never added to these games unless you downloaded a custom content hair from a Black CC Creator or Simmer.
We had to download all of our hairstyles from Black CC Content Creators such as Xmiramira, EbonixSimmer, and other content creators. Which we need more Black and POC content creators to create more accurate and good quality hairstyles so we can put it on our Sims.
The game is so whitewashed, but what do you expect if majority of the fan base is White, Straight, and Cisgender…lmao 😭😭

I think the newest pack is the peak of lacking content compaired to Sims 3, horses were part of pets pack, now they are basicly selling same horses minus open world and ability to control them as an own expansion pack with recycled features. 😬 Sims 4 is good with challenges + all packs but that explains how less there is content on itself, you need own imagination to enjoy the game. I remember getting sucked into Sims 3 for hours just playing one expansion pack. And in the Sims 3 the lore is so deep and sim townies do things with meaning when in Sims 4 everything is randomized like with neighbourhood stories, og townie families will get random kids or adopt bunch of kids and pets without any precoded situations. But I think it all comes down to having a bad base, Sims 4 was built to be an online game and instead of moving the release date, they released very bad base game. Even with all these years, base game is still bad and the game breaks so easily when they build new things on top of bad base. Now they just recycle items and gameplay features to new packs, there are same features found in different packs and it's getting to a point a lot of simmers are not okey with it anymore. I used to be excited for new packs but after getting let down over and over again with very shallow packs, you reach the limit and I think a lot of simmers are at that point.

I'm part of a Sims 4 CC & Mod group on fb and everyone is posting about how the latest update broke all of their mods and they can't play. Meanwhile I'm just enjoying The Sims 2 because EA isn't updating it so they can't break it.

I have played with the Sims Franchise in between 2003-2014... and with the modded Sims 2 in between 2020-2022. I've played with the Sims 4 for a month when it came out and... well the game was very shallow and childish and after EA ruined the Sim City franchise... I've had a feeling that this game will turn out to be a failure... I was partially right... Sims 4 is on Life Support and it begs to die, yet their cultlike fans are keeping it alive to suffer.
I was not watching a lot of Sim TH-camrs. The only one I really liked to watch was PleasantCindy... She reminded me how great the Sims 2 and The Sims 3 were. Sims 2 had so much in-depth gameplay, and after downloading some wholesome, realistic mods, and CC... it felt so lifelike (Like a freakin' Life Simulator should be like). The Gameplay Method is easy to follow, yet complex and their expansion packs had content. The devs were focusing a lot on creating a structural system. (Aspirations, Hobby System, Chemistry System, Interests)...
But one thing is important... "The Sims 2 is playable, and enjoyable without mods too." It's sad to see, that real and passionate Simmers are struggling and getting frustrated by the newest edition in the Franchise...

Honestly, I've been trying to play Sims 4, I can't! It's a fucking cash grab waste wrapped in pretty astetics. EA is lazy, money hungry freaks who don't give a shit to put out a busted game. They ONLY focus on building and ONLY cater to builders.

The one thing I’ll say about the sims 3 as a player myself, is just if you broke n got a lower end computer, I can only play a couple packs at a time, so that does irk me a bit, but even then I have a lot of fun playing it and yes mods do help absolutely
and these same fans eventually moved on to animal crossing new horizons during covid and kept bootlicking the half-assed game
Yes, everyone wants to commend EA or Maxis- whoever is responsible for the actual concept and development of Sims, for THROWING IN one or two ethnic hairstyles in a new expansion pack or "Stuff Pack" that you have to PAY FOR as if inclusion is an afterthought. I'm so happy that I decided to go back to playing the Sims 3 again and will never look back at the Sims 4, sadly the franchise as a whole died 10 years ago. The current management at EA and Maxis have become very egotistical to only show how conceited they are towards the fans. They insulted us fans and that is a slap in the face and I find it very disrespectful, it's a disgrace.
Me personally I like all the sims games I’ve played for different reasons (sims 2-4 ) and that includes the medieval one to lol yes the base game for sims 4 is trash ( you need seasons to make it playable) but it’s just like with other games I play ( call of duty madden gta etc ) some games you have to add a lil more of yourself into it(imagination) like gta 5 been out for like a decade now and you still doing the same thing since day one pvp or missions but some people get creative with their gameplay that’s what you have to do with sims and you always had to like yea sims 3 had more game play butttttttt towards the end( closer towards you middle) it got bad like very very bad which is why the sims 4 got green lit like that game was crashing nothing was working gameplay got repetitive ( just like sims 4 ) but that’s going to happen when you play a game for multiple years . My whole thing is ( and as someone that codes and understands how hard it is especially when from what I heard this wasn’t the goal of how the game was supposed to be) this a decent way to get thru IRL stuff

Honestly I played The Sims 4 just because of what I saw on Sims 3 I honestly thought they would do what they did in Sims 3 but honestly 4 it's not really that good like the witches pact in sims3 that was mainly because I wanted that in 3 The witches looked all great and cool and there was like great spells but in 4 there's just not that many good spells in 4 and also like the werewolves and vampires for the vampires are fine but the werewolfs looks so uninteresting there's so many bugs in the game and literally it just gets boring front long time I even stopped playing The Sims 4 because I was just too bored of it I still haven't even played it that much and the packs are always so expensive in like they could have just bring down the the prices of bit and the community in The Sims are just too the weird and toxic also feel like 4 she's got more bad due time
I left the Sims after the Sims 4 release because real Simmers knew how bad this game was. I'm back 10 years later and the game is even more of a disaster. So I just build, playtest, upload, then leave.
my first game was literally the sims 2 castaways on the ds. i don't understand ppl who think the sims 4 is the best game ever? like .... all it is is just pack after pack.. sure, the cas is great and some of the "gameplay" is okay.. but the game is literally unplayable. ive been playing the sims 2 & 3 for months and i'm never going back to that shallow joke of a game.
Sims 4 sucks compared to The Sims 3. The best aspect of the Sims 4 is the building mode.
The Sims 4 has no open world, no create a style, and absurd amounts of DLC that would take a decade for any reasonable person to buy. The Sims 4 is one of the games that began the era of complacency in gaming.

Actually got into a lighthearted debate with my sister who prefers the sims 4 over 3. After a lengthy discussion we figured out why we had such a difference in opinion. She does a 70/30 split of building and gameplay while I'm the opposite...so I guess the sims 4 is just for people who like making pretty houses.

I never got into sims 3 but completely agree sims 4 is a really shallow bland experience where you have to challenge yourself mentally to find fun, because the gameplay loop isn't particular fun once you get unlocked stuff and earn a bit of money. Add to that like you said many broken things they don't seem to fixed or added features which were poorly implemented then left abandoned in that stage.
i grew up on sims 4. been playing since i was 10. sims 4 is not only not my favorite sims game, but its not even my favorite game in general. yet its the only thing i play aside from osu. It really does feel like im just playing with barbies. ive made that statement "its like playing with my barbies" many times. even when i was younger. the fact that my mind defaults to barbie dolls when someone asks me about sims 4 is a sign of a problem. i tried out sims 3 a week ago and the main thing i noticed, is that i didnt have to queue up interactions constantly and monitor my sims. they did stuff on their own. one thing i also must say is that yes, i do find the building fun. after watching this video and thinking about that.......building is NOT the definition of a life sim game. its a nice little part of it yes but thats all the sims 4 seems to be focused on. i still havent played sims 3 enough to say wheter or not i enjoy it but i have a good feeling i will most definetly enjoy it over the sims 4.

I like the sims 4 but only with a crap ton of mods 😂 but sims 3 and 2 are way better. Sims 4 is EA trying to squeeze as much money out of people as they can by releasing packs that should have just been in the base game. And then the updates and new packs break the game.
yess!!!!! literally as you said i build then i shut the game down. it needs so many mods to been enjoyable and even then its nothing compared to sims 1-3. My personal favorite is 2 but 3 is close up there. 4 is such a let down, i like the building mechanics but i much prefer gameplay depth. you're spot on that the sims 3 was just so advanced for our computers thats why people complained. sims 4 players are very delusional and it's depressing how many creators CONTINUE to support new packs, this video was before the for rent and the fiasco after that and people still advertise new packs to their following while in the same breath say the game is unplayable
I’ve played every single The Sims games and two of the Sim City games. I grew up with this shit. I wish they would implement the customization of The Sims 3 that we had with the color and pattern swatch ability into the CAS and build mode systems of The Sims 4. It would be awesome to be able to have same woods for furniture and also get the right shade of colors because they are just off.

look if you like the sims 4 that is fine but i think the sims 4 is such a downgrade to past sims titles. sure the graphics are nice but everything past that besides a few things are just so disappointing. like with pets we took two steps forward and then two steps back. sure the clothing are nice but again where is the ability to control that pet or send it to a job like with certain versions. also if i remember correctly did they say they couldn't do horses justice and that is why they didn't put it in the cats and dogs pack?! well a few years later guess what's coming back! what it sounds like to me is that they wanted to make more money so they are trying to make a excuse to scam more players out of money. and sadly its working. like come on you are literally spending 40$ dollars more for a separated content than say like before you spent 30$ dollars for cats, dogs, small pets, and horses. you got all of that from one pack! now you are telling me i have to spend 40$ dollars for each?! like no thanks bro I'm out! don't get me wrong if the pet pack have more content and things to do with pets i probably would have bought it. but as it stands i'm not going to waste my hard earned money on half baked products just to be sold to me in pieces. like no it isn't happening, sorry. i'm telling you, you will have such a fun time with 3 or any of the other sims tiles that isn't 4
