This is my 2nd Keurig coffee maker of this model. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf The first worked fine for more than 2 years, and I could still get a decent cup of coffee out of it if I fiddled with it when I decided to replace it. The problem I had with my first unit was this: When attempting to brew a cup of coffee, the unit would either keep brewing until the coffee was undrinkable or it would not run long enough and the coffee produced was way too strong. I cleaned the unit as best I could but it did not help. So in the end it was just too much trouble to get a good cup of coffee out of it, so I decided to replace it with a new one, which has been working great since I unpacked it.

Just decided to get one of these after living in an Airbnb with a classic machine. So easy, quick and tasty. Been through every conceivable means of making coffee and convenience is the overriding issue with most methods. Bean to cup machines are too much faff on a daily basis, stove tops require constant cleaning, filter machines just make vaguely coffee flavoured gloop, I’d rather have a good instant than filtered. Pods are a good blend of good tasting coffee and convenience, combine it with a french press for when you have visitors and you are good to go.
I thought mine was leaking today. Turns out the mug was cracked. I am sipping my morning Intenso as I read the comments!

Check out my recent video on cleaning the Plus... I've found that the standard cleaning cycle does not remove all the coffee residue which, over a long period of time, can build up and cause problems. Had my machine almost 3 years now and still love it!.

I totally agree! I am LOVING my Nespresso Vertuo Plus. The coffees and cappuccinos are delicious! The options are numerous, and very easy to accomplish. I did opt for the Breville milk frother, only because of the volume it produces, and I was told it made hotter milk as it does have a temp control. Enjoy!!

Great video, thank you, I have just got mine today. For the initial cleaning procedure, you say put at least 2 litres of water in the reservoir but how much of this is used? I only have a 1/2 litre jug to collect the cleaning water, can I pause the cleaning cycle while I empty the jug and then resume?
There's time to quickly empty during the cycle if you're reasonably quick.
oh how i know that feeling that the mug is too small haha oh i was actually sweating a little in my hands when i watched that first coffee cup being made.

I have the same machine but made by Krupps and its excellent. I also had an issue with leakage and the customer service was 1st class and I was lent a machine whilst mine was repaired!

Hi thank you for the video. I have both traditional and vertuo machine. Somebody gave me a lot of vertuo cups now but I prefer espresso coffee. Can I drink vertuo long coffee (230ml) as espresso coffee (80ml) or is too strong and not good?
I don't know ... you can stop the water mid-brew. Would be an expensive espresso though.

A 'mug' size is a bit too much for these mugs. 6/10 times you get overspill.

No, i make sure it's thoroughly clean after each use. It's easy to accidentally leave milk stuck on the bottom and the burned-on problem is harder to clean. I don't have any issues now.

I have paid for this machine 20 x with yt earnings! No free coffe as yet :( thanks for watching & commenting! Enjoy ykur new machine. Top tip. When cleaning I get in with an old toothbrush to dislodge dried on coffee. And I run the cycle at least twice.

I just bought the white VertuoPlus and took advantage of the Spring offers where I got an aeroccino, 50 capsules and 1st and 6th month of a coffee subscription, free. Love it. Got a Tassimo (My Way 2) too but there is no comparison, for they are two very different machines; the Nespresso coffee is far superior, in my opinion.

How do you use the Starbucks Nespresso pods? They are much smaller than the regular Nespresso Pods.
They are the original line size, not for this machine. Those pods are a different design and don't work with this machine, sadly.
Great video! It’s probably a daft question, but which capsules are best for making milky coffees with the aeroccino? Would it be the espresso ones or can you use any (and adjust the amount of milk accordingly)?
Any really but I mainly use double and single espressos. Occasionslly lungo.

Do you use the frother with heavy cream? How annoying is the frother to clean with frequent use?
No I don't use cream often ... sometimes i put cream in milk to make it denser. I clean after every use with hot water and a dish-sponge. I lways remove the rubber seal from the lid too .The frother attachment with a brush. Takes about a minute and 30 seconds
Does the size of the pod/capsule determine the size of the drink? I prefer smaller cups of coffee a bit bigger than a macchiato!
The essprsdos are smaller than the doublrs and lungos and mugs are bigger so yes l.
Did your Nespresso mahine and frother come with all those coffee pods as a special offer? If not, were the coffee pods an add-on to your machine order?
They were a promotional offer on the Nespresso website. I think the whole lot including the machines and pods was about £200.
I've been looking into buying one and was wondering if the coffee is really hot or on the colder side of hot? I've had machines in the past which didn't produce overly hot coffee (cough Tassimo cough)

In terms of amount of coffee, i dont drink enough that would fill up a full pint cup, I drink it so that it fills up a normal tea cup. Will this machine be able to distinguish between the two or would it always overfill excessively? Thanks for the great review btw!
It detects how much water to use based on the pod size. The Alto pods make nearly a pint but the single and double espressos use a LOT less water. Also, you can cut off the water if you want or even run a bit more through the same pod to suit your needs. For me, the 'mug' sizes are great for black coffee (I dont buy the huge pods now). Lungo is a good size being inbdtween mug and double espresso. I tend to use double espressos as a base for latte/cappuccino etc. I have a Pixie machine that uses the originaline pods which I increasingly use for short coffees. With the frother, it's very versatile. I spend too much money on coffee though lol
Can I ask if the sound is quite when it makes a coffee ? I have a delonghi coffee machine and feel I would like to invest in a nicer new machine. But that cannot be made at night ? Can this be made at night if people are asleep ?
It's not silent. But I wouldn't day it's loud. Noisier than a kettle. Quieter than a blender.
Thanks for the video, a doubt, this delonghi vertuo plus env 155 has the 5 sizes of coffee? I don't know if it accepts the barcode of the double 80ml espresso. The 40ml espresso, the 80ml double espresso, the 150ml long and the 230ml long one throw you well? Is that on the web it only puts 3 sizes and I have doubts.
Mine makes single & double espresso, lungo, mug and alto, 5 sizes. I don't use alto anymore. Mostly double espresso or lungo, some mug and single espresso. I have a pixie too, originaline pods in that one.

Yes. It reads a barcode on the under-edge of each pod to know the temperature and amount of water. Some pods brew hotter.
I'm a Dolce gusto fan for many years now but I'm thinking of getting me one how loud it is when in use?
It's not really noisy at all. The Vertuo Next IS quite noisy which you can hear in the other video I made that partially fearures this machine. It's by no means silent but the noise is not unpleasant.

I could be mistaken but; you can use different brand pods in the Pixie, different sizes,etc. BUT you can only use the Nespresso Veturo pods in the Verturo Plus, is that correct???

May sound like a daft question. I have a dolce gusto piccolo it is actually quite good but hoping for something better. I never had a nespresso machine before, I take it I can't use this machine to make cappuccinos because it is an espresso machine? Also does it take any capsules with the name nespresso on them or do they have to specifically say nespresso vertuo plus?
Ideally you couple it with milk frother so you can make different drinks with milk. The pods go from Ristretto to Lungo. I have just today bought some compatible pods from Waitrose to try. If I want a full size coffee I use my Vertuo plus which also makes espresso- doubles, lungo, mug and Alto sizes. I use an Aeroccino 3 frother. Some machines from Nespresso combine milk automatically. I have no experience with those though. Yet!

Thanks for the kind comments, Clive. The rotunda was an Amazon purchase. I just searched nespresso vertuo pod storage. Lots of options mostly pretty cheap.

I have had my machine now for 4 or 5 years, it used everyday without problem. The only complaint I have is that Nespresso coffee pods are expensive.
I tend to drink more esspresso & doubles and fewer mug sized (apart from mornings). It keeps the cost down. I may by an original machine for comparison!
Try a company. Intelligent blends. I use them. Get great pods for a better price than local grocery store and they ship to the door.

Yes and yes. The frother makes the machine far more versatile as it enables you to make a bigger variety of drinks.
I've got a manual espresso maker but it's too many steps for me to deal with right now and I've not been able to get my coffee on for so long. I was already looking at this machine but this review has definitely sold me on it! Just undecided on the Aericcino but they have a deal on their website as a bundle with the Vertuo Plus.
How would you be able to use it with the tall glass coffee you made that almost overflowed? Or for that size capsule, would you just not use milk with it?
I usually use single or double espresssos or lungos with milk. But sometimes I just use a bigger mug.

I don't think this machine has chocolate pods. Lattes are made by topping up an espresso with hot frothed milk made with the Aeroccino frother. I'd say about 50% of all the coffees we make are lattes. Typically we useca single or double shot in a tall glass mug topped off with milk.

Your video is very nicely done. What size capsule did you use for the cup you made in the video?
Mug sized which I think is 230 ml. Fair advice I just replaced this machine with another vertuo plus (in red) as the old one had developed an intermittent fault. It's technically in warranty but I will be making a teardown video but I'm sure the issue relates to limescale buildup over 3 years. I recommend descaling more frequently say every 2- 3 months. My new machine was £99 with 100 capsules less £50 I sold the free Aeroccino 3 for on ebay. So £49 for a brand new one. It's quieter and I realise the old one is on the way out. I started having problems after I let it get really dirty so I could make a cleaning video. Hubris.

Yes, just looks. The Plus models have the same features but I think are built by different manufacturers.

The capsule stand was from amazon - search for 'Nespresso Vertuo Pod Storage'. There is a wide selection. The mugs were purchased from a branch of Wilkinsons in the UK. We've had them a long time and it just happens they are the right size for a vertuo mug-size. They work well for lattes with a single or double shot.

I’ve seen that iced coffee is mentioned for the vurtuo machine, but does that mean iced coffee can only be made with this machine versus Nespresso’s other machines that have the original capsules?
I think you just make regular coffee and pour it over ice (which isc) what I do) I can't see how any machine can brew coffee cold... I think it's just a marketing gimmick. The Aeroccino makes cold frothed milk though.
@@richwhilecooper yea last year they released in the spring time to summer Coffee specifically made to be iced the Coffee was made to pour out over ice at a lower temperature they were yummy . i have not tried there current special ones tho
There is now an iced coffee pod... it still brews how but it's designed to be drunk cold. I pour it into a jug full of ice to rapidly chill it first. Tastes goid, great pickmeup on a hot day.

No. But I clean my machine thoroughly and often.

I'm not exactly sure but I think we paid slightly over £200 for the whole lot. It was a very good price.
Holy Cow, so much packaging. But a great machine. the coffee looks great. maybe my next purchase. I have owned a Swiss Turmix Gran Maestro for many years. Descale once a year, so far I haven't had to do anything else

No. Unless yku grind them and put them in a reusable pod. Amount depends on pod. From esspresso size to alto which is just under a pint
Hi is the Vertuo plus reliable at long term?
The automatic opening and closing system looks like very fragile and if it stops working, you will not be able to manually introduce a capsule
In short, ours is almost exactly18 months old today with no issues whatsoever. 3rd descale this morning. In long, I clean it thoroughly about every 3rd cleaning cycle and get an old toothbrush in to clear deposits of dried on coffee
The only issue I could see is if you have a used capsule reservoir that is over-full and your next capsule cannot fully exit (or it sticks due to the machine not being cleaned properly). This would result in the motor acting against a lot of resistance that could damage the mechanism especially if it happens repeatedly. I have seen (some not all) people posting pics of their 'leaking' machines and they are filthy on the outside so one can only speculate on the crud build-up inside!! I dare say living in a hard-water area or an area with poor water-quality would see higher failure rates. I'm shocked at some areas of the world where tap water would be illegal in the uk. We live in a soft water area so we're lucky in that respect. I think water quality is a factor.

The mechanism is quite robust enough for a lot of normal use in my opinion. The whole thing seems pretty solid and well built. No cheap materials that I can see.

I love the machine we just got, along with the milk froth or, but it doesn’t look like your machine exactly, which is strange because this video is only a few months old and we just got the machine for Christmas. Everything is the same except the top is rounded and black plastic. Everything else is exactly the same, though. Can’t believe how good the taste is, and it must be because the heating element gets so hot, so it releases the oil’s from the coffee. Also, I did not realize until today that the spins, which is part of the frothing process, etc.
I am glad that you are enjoying your new machine! Nespresso machines are made under license by a variety of manufacturers. Mine is made by Magimix, and it's possible yours is made by another manufacturer, hence the cosmetic differences. I have checked the temperatures of a number of pods and there is significant variation... I will be publishing my results soon! In the meantime, have fun trying all the different pods on offer!!
Rich While-Cooper, Really? I’m surprised that a manufacturer would have other manufactures manufacturing the same machine, but in different formats. How did you find that out? Quite interesting, as I have never heard of a company having the same model looking different in various countries.
