I worked downtown in the Confederation Court Mall from '86-'89. Great to see many familiar sights once again. One thing I've noticed, is the presence of so many North American-made cars ( rare to see an import ) I still live in the city...great to see some changes take place, but also regret some changes. Great video, you really brought us back.
This is the sort of unexpected gem I love to find on TH-cam. I'm from the west coast but have had a huge curiosity about the east coast recently. Thanks for uploading ewsm889, much appreciated.
Charlottetown City council should do this each year, pay some Holland College student studying media to go around and video the city. It's amazing how much has changed it's nice to see someone has recorded the city back then. I take videos now with my cellphone as I drive in my truck. Nice to see this video great job!
Hey there how are you doing? This video is fantastic and I would like to .. with your permission, is create the exact same video that Keith did, but play it on the left side of the screen, and my comparison video on the right side showing 2020! I would synchronize the two. What do you think? I think its a great Idea. Thank you so much, Tyler
edit: I'm editing this comment 3 years later lol. At 13:20 I think that is the CCGS Tupper. My uncle used to work on it. It's fun to see, it's odd though how soon we forget and treat it like it's images from 100 years ago. There is also video of Halifax from 1989 th-cam.com/video/BQ4hUuArFbs/w-d-xo.html
1988 a great year to bee a teenager on PEI , Brings back a lot of memories love the video , would be awesome to see some older ones as well if anyone in tubeland has one please upload
Hey I saw your post card on HeyThatsMike's channel for the two year anniversary of vlogging!! Great to see another Islander watching the videos!! I'm always telling them how beautiful it is here!! And to come visit!!
Aww, he never went further up from the Queens County Jail to Mount Edward Road and showed my old workplace Basics Food Warehouse, which had the cheapest grocery prices in town!:-(
this is great stuff .. one thing i notice is how much cleaner the city looked back then . of course this was before the flawed and failed waste watch program ..
Very cool and well done! Thanks from 2023! 😀

Seeing the old Pizza Delight logo on 1911 jail. There's a nostalgic punch to the gut.

Great to see what my relatives experienced! I wish I could have lived back then but, I wouldn't be the same person.

What was it like in Charlottetown in the 80's? Everyone's muffler needed to be replaced.
😆
Thank you for the upload :) .
Did this guy live on Irwin Drive? I lived a couple houses down from the home at the end of the video.

The city looked a lot less run down then
Nice Monte Carlo in front of Johnnie's mayfair
You think so? It seems to me that there's been a lot of revitalization and improvement since then but maybe I'm wrong.
Nah it was way more run down then
