Hi Tom, question about the speed. Is there a way to get the speed a bit more up? So its also speed fun? I Didnt find much vid about upgrading this miller for some extra speed. Im thinking about getting this one but I also want a bit more speed.

Just bought one and still no oil in the shocks.
I received mine yesterday and the first thing I did was fill the empty shocks and glue on the air filter.
Were the shocks empty like mine?

Not really a Rock racer known as Ultra 4 in the King of the Hammers series designed to run in the desert at speeds upto 120mph ish then take on the gnarliest rocks at KOH go watch some not sure but think it is class 5 as it is Jeep based hence the Jeepesque grill and running geat with a nice LS V8 auto box transfer box set up, been waiting for a 1/8-10th ish for ages I have two 5th gas sryle ones from Kraken RC and FID RC, they run open diffs in the desert lock rear on the rocks till you cant flick into 4wd and keep climbing relatively fast in the rocks.
Bit spendy but all RC4WD stuff is I wanted their Dakar truck but they made it in 1/14th too small for my liking and well dear so will I buy the buggy not sure being a 5th gas fanatic hmm but I did buy the UDR and a cheaper better Super Desert Truck like the LOSI SBR so maybe, more places to use it.
$500 isn’t to bad but there not traxxas
Ther are brands other than traxxas that are still good
Idk doesn’t look that great. Suspension just isn’t dialed in. Same thing I said about it in another video.

I like it! Though it's a shame that RC4WD didn't make the battery compartment a little bigger, I think that is compensated for by the wealth of features. I was very impressed by the self-spawning rear view mirror feature ( see it in action @ 11:00), and think other manufacturers could do well to take note.

Absolutely gorgeous and I almost pulled the trigger when I saw the announcement, but a few things hold me back.
I don't need cheap electronics and a sensorless motor that ill have to rip out and replace anyway adding to cost and on something thats supposed to be super scale, I want a CMS option even if it is inferior performance wise.
Ikr, they should’ve put a crawler sensored brushless motor
And it would have been a HUGE hit
Especially because it would beat the TRX-4 which last time i checked, is the best crawler platform as of right now

2hours on and already +100 comments🙄 Its not a crawler and not really a "racer" either....too much plastic. I like the look but Iam afraid its a glorified shelf queen.
looks good to bad rc4wd didnt put more metal parts like diff housings hate all the plastic crap on all this stuff for $500 +

Its a good looking rc. Imo. But £410 uk pounds. Um, that's sounds a little steep.
It's $50usd less than a TRX4 here. It doesn't seem too high compared to others

That looks about as fast (slow) as my nearly stock Axial Wraith Spawn. That one is plenty fast to have fun on rocky terrain though. :)

[disclaimer: yes I'm a bit of an RC4WD hater, as much as Phil is not a Traxxas fan, but I got enough cars from them to be disappointed with a reason] I want to like it and I just can't. RC4WD is quite pricey, but what you get is not better than one of those crawlers from Bangood or Aliexpress, except the latter have lights included! This thing has exactly the same price as a TRX4 in the USA, but the TRX4 comes with a much better design (sorry Phil, I know you don't like it, but it's pretty good) and tons of upgrades available. The battery tray is nonsense, doesn't even fit a standard battery, ok it goes at snail pace as it's a crawler anyway (spoiler: it's not a rock racer, it just looks like a rock racer), so you can use a super small battery, but if you fit a big one you keep going the whole day. The receiver box is not waterproof, while on any Traxxas it is. I would also expect the horns on the diff case for the locker would easily break with a hit, they are fairly exposed.
RC4WD is overpriced for what they offer, they should either go up with the design and put a bit more care on the details or simply go cheaper on the level of the like such as FMS, RGT, HG, HB and the like. Or, if you don't want to go to direct from China and live in Europe, get an Absima Sherpa instead, such a cool car, 2 speed, diff locks, waterproof receiver box, magnetic body clips and lights (tons of lights).
...Without "any" factory shock-oil/...out of the box, those limiting-straps will most likely "pull-out" of where they are screwed into the plastic frame & into the axle-housing !!! 🤔

1200kv was disappointing, for me in a 3s max truck. It seems like Losi already did this one and while it didn't look quite as scale but was faster, easier to work on, and about the same price with the Hammer Rey. Idk, maybe I'm missing something and it's got something more to offer, but it seems like it would end up being a nightmare to work on and pretty underwhelming performance wise. Looks amazing, tho.
My man, you know how I like my trombone sound when the pointer finger comes out. Lol bring it back! In an rc related topic, the car looks nice, but the out if the box appeal is lacking with all the small mistakes. Have a gray day bud. Catch you on the flip. ( bring back the trombone) 😉
ok reminds me of an Axial ride, RC4WD always chasing them but I just don't get into the crawling aspect of it. the locking and unlocking of diffs and dig and all that.
Aren't these the things that Sabine and Chris Harris raced on 'new' topgear a couple of years ago. It looked mental as a motor sport and if this is a scale version of that, it's a little tame but you've done a great review :)

Typical RC4wd…. Looks great but poorly put together and likely to be very unreliable. Not for me.
For it costing what it does and rc4wd being who they are they couldn't pick a better radio so you have buttons or switches for the locking diffs? The knob for both makes no sense. Atleast traxxas had a 3 position switch. Otherwise seems like a great truck.
Can you do a second video on upgrades and how to make it better? I really want to get this thing but have some doubts
I love the scale king of the hammers look. All the locking diffs and 2 speed are great. Just a little slow out the box. Does look amazing though

ooopf it ain't cheap....$500 USD is about $700 canuckstan kopeks.
I thought all RC4WD cars came with 5 bottles of locktite, baling wire and a roll of duct tape.

Was expecting it to be a lot more than 500 us dollars. Not bad for what you get with all the scale details. I guess they cut cost with the electronics and the shock oil 😅

Very much like a modern day Axial Bomber, this. Hopefully it’ll get the aftermarket support the Bomber had/has and become a hell of a platform. Definitely interested in this one!
