I've read many conflicting reports on this same tip. There seems to be two different thoughts on this. One, that part of the reason we get PF is because our feet are weak from always wearing shoes and never letting them become naturally strengthened from walking barefoot. The other is that we get PF from not having the right shoes for our feet, like poor arch support for example. From my research I done, I feel its more of having weak feet and improper shoe support during some sort of strenuous exercise or activity in conjuction with poor nutrition and improper alignment in the body. A subluxation of the spine or misalignment of the hips or pelvis, can restrict nerve supply to certain areas of the body, causing central nervous system interference, and keeping the body from being able to be at 100% and heal naturally. Sorry for the long winded response, and I'm not disagreeing with you, but i fear far too many people are suffering from ailments that can be healed on their own through proper nutrition by reducing toxicities in our body and chiropractic care. Our bodies were created to naturally heal themselves if we would stop just treating the symptoms and find and treat the cause. Thanks for commenting Arcana73!
Jason Wish no issues with the long reply. I was having issues with back pain and knee issues for a long time, with a mild case of PF from years of waiting tables and working 10 or more hours on my feet. Did the chiropractor thing for some about 6 months, then had a really bad flare up on my foot where I was convinced it was a heel spur. Ended up being bad PF. I have had to do the inserts, stretches, night splint, and haven’t gone barefoot per my podiatrist orders. But the good news is: by treating my foot my knee and back issues subsided.
Thanks for the video and I appreciate all youtubers who contribute. In my opinion, the only things here that cured your plantar fasciitis are #1 and #10. The cure for this condition is not to focus on the fascia at all but to: 1. Stop running, 2. Keep walking but observe your gait and its mechanics, 3. CHANGE your gait. I’m 68 years old and had it for 8 long months this year. It happened because I began to work out 2-1/2 years ago and put on 20 pounds of muscle. All the while I kept running. Due to the increased vertical pounding on the bottom of my foot and a lifetime of incorrect running mechanics, I developed the condition in my right foot in January. I tried all the popular things you read about to cure it, but nothing helped. Only recently I began to change my walk: gripping with my toes, making them stronger and stronger so they began to engage much more, and inverting my heel so I put more weight on the lateral arch (side of my foot). I’ve completely changed the way I walk and I’ve recently begun running again. Now I take shorter, quicker strides, since research has shown that decreases the vertical pounding on the fascia. The other points you make here aren’t wrong - just that they are probably more for psychological comfort than truly getting at the root cause.
I did most of these after seeing your video and it definitely improved my symptoms :) . I also lost about 2 stones of weight, and that has been the best thing of all.
Good tips, Jason. I was fortunate and was able to stretch my way out of my Planter Fasciitis - it never came back! Man, did it hurt when I had it, though.
Thank you for this helpful information. My plantar fasciitis was healed mainly by stretching my calves and the sole of the foot on the first step of the stairs, standing on my toes and lowe my heels. Have a great day. God bless you richly. Whoever you are, hope you get better soon.
Great community video that I trust will bless many. When you get to be our age, the injuries occur much faster (and often without a knowledgeable injury), but worse (at least in my case) they take forever to heal. My nemesis a coupe years ago was "tennis elbow." It was nasty and I too had to experiment with so much to finally get relief. Glad you are feeling better. We surely don't appreciate good health until it's taken away!
I got it last year, upon my return from Yosemite. The podiatrist recommendation is almost exactly what you say. Stretch, ice, rest, and arch support inserts. Went away after about 2 weeks, and hasn't returned. Great video
The best answer is acupuncture. It took me 12 sessions but it was completely gone. I had better progress when the the needles were given on the calves too. Stretching and massaging calves also helps as that’s where the actual problem lies.
I've had it twice. First time for a year, it healed up nicely. I think my right leg is shorter . I'm stretching, using ice, I walk with a cane, going to get a night splint, I also use shoe inserts and never walk barefooted and I am hoping for eventual healing again . I am on my feet a LOT too .
Man you really must have had it bad. The B roll in this was great. from the pain face to the "hey can i film this for my youtube channel?" in the chiropractic office... lol.. great stuff man!
Glad you are able to get back out there on the trail now sir! Thanks for all the tips in case we ever encounter the same issues. Have a good one - Shane
Thanks! It's nice to get a comment from someone that is not trying promote their own healing techniques. I know there are many others that may work but this is just what worked for me.
I have hard tile floors so I got some sqwishy slippers that helped since they lowered my heel and provided arch support. I wore these or my Nike, firm support, sports shoes always. I didn't use a night brace or chiropractic. I didn't run either. But I did walk, stretched, add compression socks occasionally if I went to a mall or long walk, and I lowered acidic foods. I was dealing with sciatic nerve pain too so over-stretching my legs and hip caused more problems than it helped. I recommend gentle stretching of calves and make sure you're warmed up with walking. It does take 2-3 months to heal plantar fasciitis but after a month, you can do most things and walk without pain with proper shoes (arch support). 10k steps might be too much but 6-8k steps is doable after a month. Increase distance gradually. Facia is the stringy webbing on the bottom of your foot. It takes time to heal and reconnect. You cannot push through this pain. When you walk for exercise, an ache means it's starting to micro tear. A sharp pain means an acute tear so stop to assess if you can walk slowly. You need to work between these barriers. If you are a few blocks from home and feel a sharp pain, decrease your speed, limp if you have to, to get home, but try not to feel sharp pains. Then ice, compress, and relax. Take a day off to heal but continue stretching. Eventually with less but continued exercise, good food, and rest, you will feel better.
amazing I stumbled in here to your channel this morning. dealing with planter fasciitis right now. ice round bottle does wonders. good information here thanks.
Not fun to farm with PF....hope you get well soon. There is a lot of good info on youtube about it. Mine is still lingering a year later....starting to wonder if I have a small bone spur.
jason, i'm 70 yrs old and i worked out side on my feet for 40 yrs and retired now and an avid golfer and walker. my pf hit me in early spring out of no where and i didn't want to give up golf so i still walked but also would sometimes rent a riding cart. i finally went to a podiatrist and have had 2 shots and it has helped some. i've done alot of the things you recommended so all together i've improved about 60% to 70% after 9 months or so. i recently found wearing the compression sock to bed has really helped for the next day. i'm also getting my exercise by riding a bike and that doesn't bother the foot pain. i'm also going to try taping my foot with kinesiology tape tonite. thnx for your help, steve.
Thanks for the great comment Steve! I also did a lot of biking to get my exercise in while suffering through PF. I'm still dealing with a mild case in the other foot currently...getting real tired of it.
@@jasonwish- my pf seemed to come out of nowhere., a couple of my golfing friends are retired letter carriers foe usps and they and a lot of their coworkers have had it. i wish i had known to put decent arch support inserts in my foot wear years ago. it's winter time up here in massachusetts so i'm able to rest more but i am active, just not going on long walks for a while. i'm do ride my bike weather permitting.
Thank you for your information Do tread lightly on your feet for the best healing methods of what you are doing don't change too quickly bad things could happen very fast you are doing fantastic on your road to recovery love your vids get well soon
There are so many methods of curing this out there on line. Trying different things and taking it easy for awhile seems to be the best cure. Thanks for watching!
Jason..great tips...I am suffering from heel pain from past 6 months.. I really get relieved after icing my foot...even stretching exercises helps me.👍
Thank you to everyone who commented with helpful suggestions and thank you Mr. Wish for the informative and well presented video. I’m going to get the boot!
I've had plantar Fasciitis twice. It is a build up of calcium in the heel. The only thing that will get rid of it is Shockwave therapy. It breaks up the calcium deposits that are on the heel. This also allows the tissue to heal. I just had my 2nd bout 8 weeks ago. Everything you do is temporary and does not get to the root of the problem. I used to get up and use a frozen water bottle first thing in the morning. Now, I have not had to do that anymore. I am getting my 6th treatment next week and that should finish it off. No more horrible pain when I get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. All the items mentioned here I've tried. The foot brace helps but can be uncomfortable. See your Dr. The treatments are 5 minutes, 2,000 hits on the heel that go real quick.
What fucking doctor does shockwave therapy???? I NEED TO KNOW. I suffered a roof fall in 2018, since then, i've had this SHIT. I just had my first shot 9 days ago, wear a night boot, special socks, and just bought ice packs for my feet. I also wear special insoles. What kinda doc does that treatment? Shockwave?
@@DivesWithMike I write from Paris .I have heard about electroacupuncture .Very efficient said a Chinese doctor .I have the same problem (left heel)..don’t eat acidic ,it gives more inflammatory.
Thank you so much for this information, I work nine hour days and walk eight hours and it wasn’t getting any better after stumbling upon your video I started icing it during lunchtime and my breaks and it’s a lot better but I still have a ways to go! It’s been a week of crawling/limping from my bed to the kitchen and bathroom lol
Thanks for sharing your experience!! I will follow your foot steeps because this thing is very annoying!! I already tried the injections and the pain came back about two months later... Thanks!!
It is pure hell, Juan. I know how you feel. I agree with Jason about not doing the steroid shot. You need to treat it and deal with underlying problem. Here is my story. I just started experiencing it in March. Woke up and POW -- felt like I stepped on a landmine. Seriously. Went to PCP then to Podiatrist, and they say I have PF. But, damned, I would think it'd be something more than just PF. But, I'm slowly getting better day-by-day. Best thing that is helping me is wearing a fracture boot during the day. Then, at night, wear a compression sock. It is healing that way. Each day feels a little bit better. You've got to get off of it. Sadly, I differ some on Jason's suggestions. Get in a situation where you give it time to heal. Here's a similar fracture boot to what I have. This might even be the one that I have. It was $680 bucks at the Podiatrist, but like $30-ish on Amazon ... To me, I think that's what is helping most, but not using it, is also allowing it to heal. And, use compression sock at night -- this is about same one that I have. www.amazon.com/MB-Medical-Non-Air-Fracture-Walking/dp/B08ZNV5Q12/ref=sr_1_9?dchild=1&keywords=fracture+boot&qid=1622121849&sr=8-9 www.amazon.com/Fasciitis-Swelling-Achilles-Compression-Effective/dp/B075Q9LY9S/ref=sr_1_12?dchild=1&keywords=compression+socks+plantar+fasciitis+straps&qid=1622121995&sr=8-12 Also, do not walk on it without support. Never been away from the boot. Use it non-stop until 6 weeks pass, then re-assess. Promise you. It'll feel 100x better, or, at least, mine has. Do not put weight on it until it has had 6 weeks to heal. If you will take the time to let it heal, it'll heal permanently, but walking on it won't allow it time to heal and might make it worse.
I had Plantar Fasciitis for about two months. Got a adjustment from a Nucca Chiropractor and was back running well in three weeks. In fact I ran a Marathon in Eugene Oregon three months later and took 30 minutes off my pr. The adjustment corrects the nerve and the yoga stretches the muscles.
It sure does, I totally agree. The first step for anyone with PF should be to see a good chiropractor to correct any imbalances and possible nerve supply issues.
@@jasonwish- Not a regular chiropractor but a NUCCA Chiropractor. One pops lower muscular problems but the NUCCA chiropractor does the Atlas vertebrae which can pinch off nerves to different parts of your body. I’ve had lots of different problems fixed by NUCCA chiropractors.
Sounds like the crap I had to figure out with my IT band. Injuries suck even more when. They stop us from doing what we love. Glad you got it pretty much figured out. Might I also suggest altras if you aren't already wearing them. They fixed some of my minor plantar fasciitis and also a bit of my it band.
I have been wearing the Altras for about a year now and I love them and would never go back to hiking boots, except for deep snow or mud :) Glad they helped you as well!
They have a zero drop and a very wide toe box for the toes to splay more naturally and are more of a minimalistic type of shoe. Look up Altra Lone Peak 3.5 shoes to learn more.
Look up “applying a thing coat of castor oil in the area” it’s sticky oil but it works. I’m doing research for a friend and found a video of a many talking about his issue and what worked.
Thank you for the video. I cycle a lot almost daily without any problem, but 1 month ago I was running up the stairs with socks on and my right foot slipped so the plantar area felt right on the border of the steps with all my weight on it. I had a lot of excruciating pain for couple of minutes then it went away. The problem is when I started cycling I started noticing this slightly pain, barely noticeable, but after these weeks it has been increasing. Now its so annoying. I wake up and I have pain then it fades away. But if I cycle even just 5 minutes it becomes so excruciating. This makes me so frustrated because Im very outdoorsy as well, and active plus I love cycling :/ . I will make a doctors appointment soon but its so annoying because where I live doctors take ages to get with the diagnosis. For now I will try your tips!
Oh wow, that has to be so frustrating! 2 1/2 years later after this video was made I am now still dealing with a slight case of it in my left foot now instead of the right. My only other tip would be to maybe increase certain supplements that promote healing to tendons and ligaments and of course eat a very healthy diet with more fruits and vegetables and probably wouldn’t hurt to make a visit to the chiropractor to make sure your body is functioning on all cylinders and balanced and eventually it should heal itself the way it is supposed to.
I don't know for sure since I'm no doc but I've always been told to apply cold...maybe both would help? The more I learn about this the more I would not treat it like an injury, PF is a result of another underlying issue that needs to be figured out for each individual, whether its a nutritional deficiency from a poor diet, over stressed feet from improper footwear, imbalances in the body that need corrected with chiropractic or just plain week feet muscles from wearing shoes with too much support over the years, are most likely the culprit. Best of luck to you figuring this out. I'm actually dealing with a minor case in the other foot now that I need to get figured out.
stretch, my doctor told me the majority cause of plantar is tight calf and/or weak glutes. there are 2 different calf stretches upper and lower calf, start with upper always and do both stretches 30 to 40 times per day 30sec to 1min each for 4 to 5 weeks also get insoles to support arch of foot.
So I started working out and thats when it started to hurt and it’s been well over a year now. Honestly I’ve kinda learned to just suck it up and ignore it but I’m also curious of what I can do…. Thank you!
Jason. Great video. I noticed you had some pain in your other foot after this video. How has your progress been and did you maintain the same treatment?
Thanks! Yes, I still have a mild case in the other foot that has been nagging me for nearly a year. It really started flaring up after my 350 mile backpacking speed record I set on the Sheltowee Trace Trail last year. Long, deep calf and hamstring stretches seem to help me the most. If it doesn't finally go away on its own after this year I am going to try Tissue Regenerative Therapy (TRT) next. I recently found out about this procedure. The Cleveland Indians even use it. It released the bodies own angiogenic growth factors, activates and recruits stem cells, regenerates injured tissue, forms new capillary blood vessels and improves blood supply and cell proliferation. This uses no drugs, surgeries or needles...I like it!!
I am in so much pain from plantar fasciitis. It was caused by wrong running mechanics. But I can’t stop running or lifting weight. I work out everyday. I am toughing up and trying to overcome the pain. I need to hit the gym everyday for my sanity after work. 😢I am only icing and stretching for now.
Hey there Thankyou for your very useful video, I’m wondering if this is also what causes the shin splitting pain too, I have both and currently affecting my running very badly! 😭😭😭
Not sure if it's related to shin splints. I actually have gotten a mild case of it in my other foot now that I'm working on, but it has fully healed in my right foot and has never returned. I hat that it affects my running and hiking as well!
I’ve battled this for 4-5 years now in both heels! I’m 40 years old, go to the physio, stretch, am trying a foot brace at nights but soooooo uncomfortable. So incredibly frustrating as love to play sport but the next day so bad.
There’s a ton of great suggestions and advice in the comments if you have time to check some of it out, I really feel there is much more to it than just wearing proper footwear and arch support.
I have been wrapping my foot in a heating pad, to get blood circulated. Immediately followed by a tens machine therapy. Helps with pain and I believe healing along with stretches. Ice never did much for me. Problem with PF healing is that blood can’t get in there to help with healing, especially if you have poor circulation in your feet. There is no one cure for this brutal, incapacitating injury that few talk about until they get it. Talk to ten podiatrists and you will get ten different treatment solutions.
Hi Jason, I followed your advice when my plantar faciatis was really painful but it didn't really help. I reccomend people to go to the podiatrist and get the orthotic which cost around $720. It's expensive for a reason. Secondly buy Asics which cost around $240. They will check the way you walk on the trendmill and reccomend you the shoes at Asics. Stretching exercise is just for temporary pain relief. I am free from pain after 4-5 weeks. That's just my personal opinion. Cheers.
Have PF since a year, not exercising at all. Nor even upper body exercises. Tried everything, but foot gets sensitive on doing squats or walking after 10 steps in a row. Also wear shoes and dr. Scholl's PF inserts. Has a hunch in left side of spine.

Thanks. Info was helpful. Suffered fro plantar fasciitis. Had x-ray done. Got injected in heal. Doing the ice foot roll, and stretching. Just got the night foot brace. Question: Did you reach the stage where you had to take the injection? And if so, did it help at all?
I never got any injections. I did get an X-ray to make sure there was not a bone spur and fortunately there was not. All healed up but still get a little sore from time to time after a long run or hike.

Hey I went to the foot doctor and they gave me a steroid shot in foot that had heel pain but it made it a lot worse it’s been like 1 month and a half from than and I still feel like I have a lot of inflammation in my foot and heel pain (my foot feels a lil hot and irritated) have you heard of this happening to anyone else? Thank you! I have been 100% cured in that foot since the filming, however, I now have a mild case in the other foot that I need to work on. I Have discovered another new technique I may be trying for this one because it has been stubborn. Thanks for asking!

@@shopgirl62173 On Jason's suggestion, I had the 2nd thing he suggested too, but the Podiatrist said that would be great at night -- or when you are watching TV. But, you have to ISOLATE IT and not move it during the healing process, is what both PCP and Podiatrist said. So, get a fracture boot. It will let the PF's tendon heal and slowly remove the pain & inflammation. Mine sure has. Like magic. It is nearly 4.5 weeks from wearing the boot, and it is much, much better. But, I did exercises and crap from internet (like Brad & Bob stuff) and it just made mine worse. Because I wasn't giving the body time to heal it. Or, that's my experience. Jason's experience might be different, since he does a lot of long distance stuff. I don't, so that tendon is not used to maintaining same regiment.
My wife has had PF for well over a year now. She has been to the foot DR and done the shoes, inserts, and stretches. Nothing seems to help at this point. She has it in both feet and she is a softball coach so it’s no fun. We have exhausted almost all options, but we are about to double down on icing and stretching one more time! Any tips that you learned since you made this video would be great! Thanks
I’m sure she is very frustrated! I actually still have a slight case of it that flares up from time to time on the opposite foot now 2 1/2 years later after this video was made. I know not everybody believes in chiropractors but I wholeheartedly recommend checking one out to make sure Her body is correctly balanced and that there are no subluxations which can prevent proper nerve supply to certain areas of the body which will ultimately prevent proper healing. Other than that maybe increase certain supplements that are known to help heal tendons and ligaments. Best of luck to you both.
Thanks for getting back! We actually have one here in town I’ll set her up an appt with. It’s tough seeing her in pain, especially in both her feet. I can only give so many massages haha... I’ll update you have she gets an appt with the chiropractor
Thanks for asking. She had X-rays of her feet and they showed she had arthritis in the tops of her feet, so not only does she have PF, she has arthritis too! Lol. We recently tried Physical Therapy for a while and that didn’t do much at all for her. The only time I’ve noticed improvement is when she’s not on her feet multiple days in a row, but that’s kinda hard when you are a softball coach. I’ve read where some people PF just disappears after sometime and I’m hoping and praying that’s the case with my wife.
Do you know how you got it? I think I did from fast zero drop shoe transition. Also curious what type of shoes you wore (ie stiff soles, drop, etc) during your recovery. Thanks
At the time I got it I was running in zero drop shoes on the road that had a thin stack height and I think I just stressed my foot too much. I was in to high mileage backpacking and training for an FKT. I bought a pair of Sol insoles shortly thereafter for more foot support in my zero drop shoes while healing and recovering. I fully recovered but now two years later I still have a minor nagging case in my other foot, but it doesn't prevent me from running and backpacking.
@@jasonwish- thanks. I’m technically still undiagnosed. Mri says it’s not PF and going soon for nerve tests. Baxter nerve presents like PF. The drs have been terrible. I’m missing out on current hiking season but thinking of heading out anyway. I tried Sole and couldn’t get used to them or any orthotics for that matter.
Man that’s got to be so frustrating for you! Mine is pretty minor and tolerable for most of my activities but definitely can be a little painful in the morning after a 20 or 30 mile day. Hopefully you get it figured out soon!
Thanksnfor the tips. But some.of the tips such as laser treatment and supplement unavailable in our place. But i will try to follow the others. But is it ok if we bare foot most of the time?
I think going barefoot is fine as long as it's not too painful for you. I would start with some foot strengthening exercises and good long stretches of the calves and hamstrings. Definitely ice it down well several times a day with a frozen water bottle or jar of jam. And most importantly visit a good chiropractor that specializes it sports injuries. I would not get cortisone shots, that does not get to the cause only helps the symptoms temporarily. Good luck.
But if the fascia is torn…wouldn’t stretching your foot be bad for it? Shouldnt you be resting it? Wouldn’t stretching something that is torn make it worse?
I have it .Good is to bend the toes toward the ground .It reinforce the foot .Not stretch in the other Side mThat is what say Dr Berg.Don’t eat sugar .very bad for inflammation.from France.
Super helpful dude, thanks. Bummer about don't walk around indoors (from other sources I read) as this is my life. I'm in Kurdistan working so power walk a lot for exercise- wearing Hoka One Ones even (it's like running on pillows!) & developed this. I wonder if it's from jump-roping, as I do about 500 every day- wearing my Havaiana (flip-flops- but they are thick)... At 1st I thought "no" because it's all on the pads of my foot that I jump, but who knows. At any rate, it's so bloody hot now that I'll stop my power-walking & see how it goes.
I'm dealing with PF now, for about 4-5 months, really wanting to try to get ahead of this, as it has really slowed me down, ran across your video last night. Going to try hard this next 6 weeks to get progress with the things you have talked about. Are you still doing good with PF, has yours went away? Any new suggestions? Thanks!
It has never returned in my right foot where I had it during the filming of this video, however, I did have a minor case in the other foot a year later and it still lingers a bit but not too bad. I will add a few other things in another comment that I have tried and/or heard about that may help as well from other commenters. Best of luck to you!
PF is a symptom from an underlying cause. I don’t necessarily agree with all of my remedies in my video any longer. Whatever you do don’t waste your time with Cortizone shots cause that just covers up the underlying problem. I firmly believe that PF stems from other issues such as nutritional deficiencies and muscle tightness in the calves and hamstrings As well as subluxations in the spine and out of balance hips and pelvis. I would see a good chiropractor before I would waste my time with a podiatrist. Another treatment that I've stumbled across a few months ago that could help some is TRT (Tissue Regenerative Therapy). No drugs, surgeries or needles. It releases the body's own angiogenic growth factors, activates and recruits differentiation of stem cells, regenerates injured tissue, forms new capillary blood vessels and improves blood supply and cell proliferation. The Cleveland Indians are using this method. 1. I have been suffering with plantar fasciitis since June and the pain was almost unbearable at times, especially in the mornings. I read online that someone with planter fasciitis started taking magnesium and it healed her pain. I thought I'd try it. I purchased the New Chapter brand from Vitamin Shoppe. It has 325 mg of magnesium bisglycinate and Ashwaganda. I've been taking one pill a day for almost two weeks now. It wasn't until this morning that I went to take that dreaded first step out of bed and realized I had no pain whatsoever! I was so excited I almost cried. I have been making other dietary changes in an effort to heal my pain, such as drastically reducing coffee and sugar, but I think my pain relief is mostly thanks to the magnesium. Oh, and I also take a few drops of Vit D (around 3000 IU) and a multivitamin. Hope this helps anyone looking for answers and best of luck!
@@jasonwish- 💯 is a symptom of other things. Fixing the underlying problem such as gait, footwear, calf’s & hamstrings. Great updates comment worth pinning 🙌
@Jason Wish. In your 6-8 week recovery process, did you notice improvement (less pain) week to week, or did you have good days and bad days until the pain went away?
I believe there were good days and bad days and it kind of lingered on for quite a while in a mild form but then just suddenly went away for good! Now I'm fighting a mild case of it in my other foot a year later, very strange....I guess I need to watch my own video again, lol!
Ok thanks. That is encouraging to hear because I am now at the stage where the pain is pretty mild, every once in awhile I have a bad day where the pain is sharp again. I hope you take your own advice to heal your other foot! 🙂
@@d.h.1691 Yeah, mine is healing, since March 28, 2021, at 4am when it occurred first time. Yes, good days and bad days. But, man, does it take time to heal. I can't believe also how much pain that this injury causes. I am flabbergasted. I'd have thought severe nerve damage or something.

If you’re an athlete, or you do exercise such as you are describing, it would be easier for you to get over this. In connection with the foot brace, that might not be a good idea for some or most people. I would not take a chance on ripping out my muscles while I’m sleeping.
I left links to the two different types of foot braces I used down in the comments, for some reason I’m not able to copy and paste on my phone. Just let me know if you don’t find them and I will get you the links when I’m at my computer.
I sure hope it helps you. There are many great comments below that I think would be helpful for you...some of the comments include other things I have learned since releasing this video...best of luck to you!
I have it for a year and a half and it’s very painful especially after walking or hiking. Sometimes it even hurts when I’m laying in bed. Burn feeling or like your heel is broken.
Sometimes it's hard to believe that the planter fascia can hurt so bad. There are lots more reccomendations down below in the comments including several that I have added to my list that can be very beneficial. Best of luck to you!
Ive had this for almost 2mnths..i stopped workin several days a week cause of this...but realized that not going to work was not the answer...ive done stretches and the frozen bottle thing..massages with specialist... .and the pain has dimished some..but it still hirt tremendously some day
Hopefully it will continue to improve for you. Mine went away almost as fast as it came but then I got it in the other foot and has been nagging me for over a year now. PF is a tough one to figure out!
It is pure hell, Lorenzo. I know how you feel. I agree with Jason about not doing the steroid shot. You need to treat it and deal with underlying problem. Here is my story. I cut & paste this to help fellow suffers. This injury is a motherfucker. Never had something like this. Some days good, but other days still not the best. Yet, I do feel that it is healing -- it's just a slow healing thing.

Wear soles and little heel (2 cms).No flat sandals ! And train to bend your toes toward the ground many times in the day to reinforce your foot.Stop the sugar ,very bad in case of inflammation.Good luck.from Paris.
Another tip.....don't walk around barefoot, even indoors. It'll help.
Glad to hear that your back and knee issues have subsided:) Thanks for the reply!
Yes I figured that out pretty quickly.
@pavel mihai looking this up now.
I was feeling hopeless, but you have given me some great ideas for treating my chronic plantar fasciitis pain. Thank you!
You are very welcome!
did it work??
I did most of these after seeing your video and it definitely improved my symptoms :) . I also lost about 2 stones of weight, and that has been the best thing of all.
Good tips, Jason. I was fortunate and was able to stretch my way out of my Planter Fasciitis - it never came back! Man, did it hurt when I had it, though.
I didn't think i would ever get something like this....I thought it was only for old people, lol....boy was I wrong! Glad yours never came back!
What stretches did you do
I’m praying I can say this
What stretches did you do friend
So true Randy! Glad you were able to get your tennis elbow healed up :) Thanks for the comment!
I got it last year, upon my return from Yosemite. The podiatrist recommendation is almost exactly what you say. Stretch, ice, rest, and arch support inserts. Went away after about 2 weeks, and hasn't returned. Great video
Glad your PF is gone. Mine slightly returned on and off for another year but if is finally completely gone.
We’re you able to go to work and etc?

The best answer is acupuncture. It took me 12 sessions but it was completely gone. I had better progress when the the needles were given on the calves too. Stretching and massaging calves also helps as that’s where the actual problem lies.
Thankyou bro i appreciate this. Hope you are fully healed & back to doing the things you love. All the way here from Melbourne, Australia! 🙌

@@jasonwish- for sure, I got a foot brace to wear while sleeping as well and noticed way less pain first thing in the morning.

The adjustment corrects the nerve and the yoga stretches the muscles.
It sure does, I totally agree. The first step for anyone with PF should be to see a good chiropractor to correct any imbalances and possible nerve supply issues.

Nice straight up, no bullshit list.
Thanks, hope it helps some people.
Mine in is my right foot only, it’s so painful, I got is 6 weeks ago, I will try these tips
I hope it helps. Many other great tips in the comments.
Thanks for your tips. Much appreciated.
No heat applied? Hot water bottle for example to increase blood flow?
I had it after the hike. Thank you for the tips.
Great tips. Very helpful. Thanks for sharing. Every tip makes sense and very helpful. Thanks 😀
Thanks, I have been with this sore for 2 months now, I walk barefoot most of the time. I need to change some habits.
stretch, my doctor told me the majority cause of plantar is tight calf and/or weak glutes. there are 2 different calf stretches upper and lower calf, start with upper always and do both stretches 30 to 40 times per day 30sec to 1min each for 4 to 5 weeks also get insoles to support arch of foot.
Great advice, and I agree, thanks!
So I started working out and thats when it started to hurt and it’s been well over a year now. Honestly I’ve kinda learned to just suck it up and ignore it but I’m also curious of what I can do…. Thank you!
Best of luck to you, hope you get it figured out!
Hi I will try all of these tips. Except walking lightly until the pain is better. Thank you
Hopefully it will help you get rid of it...not a fun thing to have to deal with that's for sure!
@@jasonwish- I am already better today. Thank you
Hi Jason, I followed your advice when my plantar faciatis was really painful but it didn't really help.
I would definitely seek out a good chiropractor before spending anymore money elsewhere. Good spinal alignment can affect so much! Good luck!
Did you limit mileage on your hikes? Any hikes that you didnt do due to length of hike?
Yes, I do believe I took a little time off and slowly worked back into it and eventually it went away 100%
I have it right now and it sucks..I would have never guessed how this could hurt as bad as it does....makes me wish pain pills were still around
Yeah people that have never had don’t realize how bad it can be. Hope you’re able to get it taken care of eventually.
@@jasonwish- Jason, yeah, mine was so bad that I thought I stepped on a fucking landmine. I thought I tore some nerve or something, that bad.
Matt ... Here's my cut & paste as to what I did and am doing. It is really getting so much better, day by day.
Yes, it is pure hell.
I just started experiencing it in March 2021. Woke up and POW -- felt like I stepped on a landmine. Seriously. Went to PCP then to Podiatrist ($680 buck visit), got Xray ($250), got MRI ($1500), and they say I have PF.

Also, do not walk on it without support. Also, don't do stretches until you've given it time to heal. My PCP told me that people make it worse and don't give the injury time to heal. THat's so contrary to what most are saying on TH-cam. And, yeah, mine got much worse as I did Bob & Brad's strategies. Do the fracture boot, and I promise it'll get better much quicker. Like a fucking miracle -- no more pain.
@@PoeLemic dang! I have felt a burning tear feeling in the arch of my foot once while out hiking on rocky ground and thought I had tore the facia, but fortunately it was ok.
Great video and thanks for the tips. Did u use the tape method?
Thanks! I never did try the tape.
I have had this for the past 5 months and its got worse and I now can't work :( how long did yours last? It's really bringing me down
Mine lasted about 6-7 months in my right foot but completely healed. Currently I am dealing with a minor case in my left foot that has been nagging me for nearly a year but I can still run and hike with no problems. Best of luck to you getting it healed up!

Sound advice, it's a real drag having plantar fasciitis. Thanks for posting.
I had to give up high heels because of this. Not great. I went years without any issues even though I had to wear ugly shoes but then it reared its ugly head and once again I am battling it right now and I am going to win this war. And the problem is what people can’t see they don’t believe. Which makes it even more difficult.
Heel Insoles quite helped Leg pressed more to Cushion

Best of luck to you getting it resolved.
Can I continue walking, I am getting pain if I walk for a long time. Good that you got healed.
I don’t feel comfortable giving medical advice especially without knowing your exact condition, but if you look down in the comments there is a plethora of excellent advice and suggestions that I think could help you.
@@jasonwish- thank you Jason. I will. I am doing 1.warm and cold water soak.2.stretching 3.tenniball compression4.night olive oil massage. With this my pain is much reduced. I feel it is healing. I will continue this. For each one different method is working I feel. Thank you ones again.
I think they might of ruptured it but not to sure cuz it hurts to put the compression socks and and to stretch it , currently doing epat treatment and on my 5th treatment next Friday. The first one I felt pain relief for a day than came back. 🙏
Wow, sorry to hear this....I would not go the steroid route. Have no idea where you live but look up a local Nucca Chiropractor! I have had so many repairs with Nucca I can not stop saying wonderful things about them! Do it!
Can you tell us which night splint you used? Thank you!!
I can’t say for sure because I gave them both to Goodwill but I believe I listed the Amazon link in the comments somewhere.
Dear sir: before anything else, thanks for sharing your experience. I want to know if your cure has been effective after you have published your video. Thanks in advance for your information. R.
Thank you! I have been 100% cured in that foot since the filming, however, I now have a mild case in the other foot that I need to work on. I Have discovered another new technique I may be trying for this one because it has been stubborn. Thanks for asking!
@@jasonwish- Dear Mr. Wish, thanks for your answer. Considering what you have told me, I thibk you could watch the video of a Chinese doctor on our problem. @@jasonwish- Thank you! Im going to order one of these right away
Hey! Hows your wife now? Ive been dealing with it for over a year now too. Gonna try icing and stretching more. This thing is so frustrating.
@@AdamN-uq9fyhi, how is she now?
How much it taken for you to recover from plantar fascites
I recovered in several months and it never came back and it’s been over 4 years
Ok sir
Good luck.
stretching gives me more pain ! am struggling 😭😭😭😭
UPDATE: Please look at EPAT shockwave therapy.
Excellent!
But if the fascia is torn…wouldn’t stretching your foot be bad for it? Shouldnt you be resting it? Wouldn’t stretching something that is torn make it worse?
That’s something that would have to be determined obviously., Fortunately for me there was no tears so it fully healed in several months.
@@jasonwish- but isnt that what planter fasciitis is? A tear in the fascia… that’s where the pain comes from?

I've had this for two years now. Very painful.
Yeah, its no fun for sure...can take a long time to get rid of.
My pain came suddenly out of nowhere yesterday. Can barely put any weight on it. Can’t really go walk

If you’re an athlete, or you do exercise such as you are describing, it would be easier for you to get over this. In connection with the foot brace, that might not be a good idea for some or most people. I would not take a chance on ripping out my muscles while I’m sleeping.

I'm not qualified to give best advice on this but from what I've read it seems ice is used most often.

Also, do not walk on it without support.
@@PoeLemic i finally eliminated this problem with home remedies and exercises. Everyday...im workin in my steel toe boots again..never went to a doc fpr treatment
I work at walmart 4 days a week and my feet are killing me got my splint and sleeves which I will wear everyday now my question is can you have it in both feet without knowing it?
You can certainly have it in both feet, but I would think you would know whether you have it or not from the pain your experiencing. Best of luck!
I have it in both feel and you know u have it in both feel when u wake up in the morning and you put your feet on the ground and both of them have a hurt like feeling
Wear soles and little heel (2 cms).No flat sandals ! And train to bend your toes toward the ground
many times in the day to reinforce your foot.Stop the sugar ,very bad in case of inflammation.Good luck.from Paris.
I'd love more info about TRT. Tried googling and didn't get far. Did you end up trying it and did it help?
I have not tried that. I will check it out. Thanks.
