The comment about it being hard to 100% the game because there was no way of finding out what you had to do reminded me that my friend read a gaming magazine in a library which had a Budokai 3 walkthrough in it and explained what you had to do in the story mode to unlock certain characters like Bardock, Kid Goku, Cooler, Broly, Omega Shenron etc. He then wrote it all down and gave me the details and I then finally completed the game. Imagine explaining to someone now that this was the only way back then to complete the game.
@@allurhatrbelongtome No idea, I never saw the original magazine myself because my mate borrowed it and re-wrote all the tips on a bit of paper and handed it to me at school. Good times.

I remember playing this game as a kid on the ps2 me and my brother would take turns trying to complete the entirety of dragon universe, it was fun but at the same felt rewarding especially when you unlock secret characters.
One thing i don't miss about this game is how often the CPU will just Dragon-Rush you to death. This game would be perfect if there was a setting to toggle it off
@@MikeaZone Normal ultimates and fusions still require Hyper Mode though, so that's not a perfect solution. You'd either need to only turn off Dragon Rushes specifically, or mod the game so the Hyper Mode input just executes the ultimate immediately
Used to get kids me memory cards and unlock them characters like omega shenron and Ss4 over the weekends after I told them I had every character except gotenks. I have to plug in my ps2 and find that skill
Some other TH-camrs say that DBZ Infinite World is the better version of Budokai 3. But I know that I didn't play that as much. Because I believe there're somethings that B3 did better than IW and that's EXPLORING, GRINDING, and COLLECTING. In Dragon Universe mode, you can just play through the story like normal OR you can fly around finding Dragon Balls, Zeni, Capsules, or even Secret alternate story paths. And when it comes to the Capsule collection, grinding to get every single one is my drive to keep playing the game. If you only want the good capsules, just get the Breakthrough capsule and ignore all the rest to set your character's to their full potential.
I don't remember if I love Budokai 2 more over 3 or not, but I wish we'd get that Budokai Battle Style back. The Tenkaichi style has grown dull and FighterZ isn't what I want at all.
One of my favorites but my god. I think Infinite world and budokai 2 had enough of these features, Plus Tenkaichi 1 and 3, and DBFZ and man I’m gonna say it this game fell out of my top 5 post 2021 when I was able to play them all again.
That skill shop is the real final battle of the game 😂😂
For real bruh, that shit felt like rolling dice, menu style😭
There was at least some capsules that made you earn money faster. That part never really annoyed me since I enjoyed the gameplay so much.
That rng 😮
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 is one of my favorite Dragon Ball games of all time. An absolute classic.

Play it on pcsx2 emulator and essentially you can turn it off with cheats by disabling or limiting hyper mode

I really like the structure and art style of this game
This is my favorite Dragon Ball game. It might not be the best, but I just never get tired of it, and I really love how the characters look
What do you think is the best then? Imo its really damn subjective if you prefer 3d brawlers or 2d games or the story stuff like dbz kakarot
One of the most nostalgic DB games

Ya need the membership cards in the game that unlock all the skills in the shop and to like lower the amount of zeni in the shop I think
Budokai 1-3 is my favorite of the dbz games, but DBZ 2 is still my top favorite.
Nostalgic Vibes...

Is that the game cover of budokai 3? That looks a lot different
cause its the pal version
"dragon spheres" "the explorer" ......wut?
No bro, take the Japanese vocal intro out. Let that guitar speak😌
yeah the iconic intro for the ps2 version is so nostagic 😉
I will take that over fighter z
I like 2 more still
because no dragon rush?
