I see people commenting that the taxi driver scammed you -
I live in Jerusalem and that's nonsense. 100 shekels there and back + a tour + waiting for you - that's a reasonable price and even cheap. I once found myself in Bethlehem at night, after the buses stopped running and had to pay 100 for a one way cab!!!!
Taxis are always an expensive rip-off here, but he gave you a very good price for what he was offering.
Sure, if you'd taken the bus it would have cost you about 25 shekels altogether (for both of you there and back) but taxis being much more expensive than buses is to be expected.
In Israel 100 shekels are a normal price for a taxi for the stuff above

Hahah Simon the place that you visited is the old city. As a one who live in Jerusalem the majority of the city is modern. Actually Tel Aviv is one of the most modern places in the world. And Israel is a high-tech state. You won’t get shot at the street lol, don’t be worry . The heavy security is because of terrors attacks that we try to stop . And you see a lot of people with weapons because every 18 years old man and woman in Israel have to go to the IDF by law . Have a good one mate

The point of view that you captured for us in Bethlehem was really such an eye-opener, I've always heard stories of Israel as a kid going to church but never thought it would be looking so different from what the bible tells us! Your act of kindness when you said that you wanted to help the poor in India also changed the way on how I look at the poor and needy now, you are really such a down-to-earth person and I truly have learned a lot about being a person from your videos. Jerusalem looked fantastic, I have not been to that city, but it does look great, I chose Petra instead. I loved that blue sky, better to have rain at night, and sun in the day. 100 for the taxi tour, not too shabby to be fair, the bus was very reasonable. I really do love Israel, there was or is something about it I liked. I did comment last night, and you mentioned it again about the guns etc, well it is to do with terrorists etc, we had that in Israel, a lot of army with guns at the mall, but I would sooner that than not have it. Look forward to day three. Enjoy.

My hub (a big Catholic Irishman) was saying that constantly his first trip; when we took his oldest son the next year they both kept looking at each other & going "DO YOU BELIEVE WE ARE HERE?" LOL AND VISITORS: Israeli breakfasts are like NO OTHER PLACE! They are FEASTS! So happy Simon got to experience our wonderful, amazing country! (Yes, I'm in the States now, but am an Israeli citizen & all my kids, nieces, nephews, etc. are in Eretz).

Im only 20 rn/almost 21 but I’ve spent the past few christmas alone/ not celebrating- just another day for me. I’d like it to be more but it’s tough when you’re alone in the same place. I want Christmas for me to be a fairly religious thing. I’ve been thinking about going to Israel this year during christmas. I am Christian but yano, Jesus, Jerusalem etc. I like to be pretty prepared for travelling, mostly researching things that I should really know before. Dos and donts, transport, money accommodation, weather, to dos etc. But I haven’t gotten round to researching Israel it’s a pretty last minute (a couple of weeks) idea. Christmas is just around the corner and everything will be fairly rushed. This is actually the first Israel travel vid I’ve ever seen and I’m so glad it’s yours and especially this close to Christmas so I can get even more of a feel for they place at this specific and special time I want to go! And of course, as you travelling solo helps keep my nerves away as a solo traveller myself. Thanks for sharing Simon it’s SO appreciated!
