They are bee from my budddy Crynock. They build out a hive quick and bring in a ton of honey. His comment is below yours, ask him what the mix of bees are.
No I split them and bought them a new queen. As for the future, well, I have a lot of big things in the works that I will be sharing soon. The funny thing is is that my whole adventure, and progress, has been captured since year one on video. :-)
Another Excellent Adventure !!! That 1 nuc was Huge ! and there is nothing to Spicy for the Bug Farmer !!! just a walk in the park with those bees .
I have already split that NUC into two colonies. It was massive.

That is the hope, the dream, the plan :-). I am also opening up another bee yard this spring. It is getting pretty busy around here.
