Would you mind saying a bit about the size you keep your entrances? What are your thoughts on your area of the country and what size is appropriate? They appear to be different. Have a great week.
Yummy Yummy i've got sugar water in my tummy ! LOL Great video and good luck for them through the winter. Are you going to have any heated hives this winter ?
I have a question. Are you still keeping the heaters going in your hives. I noticed you don’t talk about it anymore. Is there anything you discovered that is not the best to keep them heated. Thanks.
No. I am not heating the hives anymore. I haven't discovered anything bad about heating the hives and still believe that heated hives are a HUGE benefit to the bees. That said I am managing 50 colonies right now with another 20 hives coming online in the spring and I just don't have the time to do much of the custom work with the hives. I am a man with more work than time to get it done. As a hobby beekeeper it was pretty easy for me to get the heaters out and install them in the fall but now I barely have the time to get all of the hives fed in time for winter. :-(
Thanks for sharing. I enjoy watching your videos. I love your positive attitude.
I really appreciate the kind words. Thank you for watching my videos.
See you next week.
:-). Back at ya!
I can understand you really good you're coming through loud and clear
Thank you.
00:14:19 You just answered my bucket question about Oxilic Acid
Excellent :-)
Great Video BF! I hope you don't get too much snow.
I don't think we will get accumulation but flurries every day will be kind of nice.
Oh...... and I will be reaching out to you soon for something. ;-)
SEE YOU NEXT YEAR BUG FARMER
Next year? I'll be here next week, and the week after, and the week after. I haven't missed a Friday in 5 years :-)

Over the winter I will have my entrances choked off to the smallest setting on the reducer. Basically two bees at a time.
@BugFarmerBees upper ventilation?
I think the audio is good. I don't notice any problems with it. 🙂
Thank you. I am trying to get the correct settings.
Maybe you should replace the bee barns with some Apimaye's
Nope. No more speciality hives for me. I am standardizing all of my hives to 10 frame Langstroth.
@@BugFarmerBees * You're going Commercial 🫠
So are you giving up on the bee barns?
I will never give up on the bee barns but I am standardizing my hives to all 10 frame if I can. I may keep one of them running as my personal project.
@@BugFarmerBees Oh good I am surprised more folk haven't picked up on them, I use my own version and I am impressed

I don't think I will be heating any of the hives this year.
