I wouldn"t say Clapton was at his best in the late 80s but the guitar solo is one of the best EVER ! Amazing guitar work along w/ solid drums from Phil. Thanks for posting.
This song (and Journeyman album) got me trough many o' lonely days and nights back in 91 and 92 when I was incarcerated. My dad who passed in 1980 when I was 15 put me on to Clapton when I was a boy - Layla! Rest in Power Daddy!
@@TheWonderfuldre Yep Yep 😁 thought willguesswhat🙃👌(he's '77) No more good music, MAYBE 2-3y than... 🤔too much same thing, all on comp (little Avicci) and much more funnier times 🤣 Kids now without mobile wouldn't know what to do😔
Eric Clapton - guitar, lead vocals Phil Palmer - guitar Pino Palladino (of The Who) - bass guitar Phil Collins - drums, backing and harmony vocals Alan Clark (of Dire Straits) -- keyboards Tessa Niles - backing vocals Katie Kissoon - backing vocals Eric Clapton, Mick Jones (of Foreigner) -- songwriters Russ Titelman -- producer
Pino Palladino of the Who? Of the Royal Family also and the Jeff Beck Trio. Pino is Pino Palladino of Pino Palladino. Quite a bass giant. Pay attention to his timing.
when the best musiciens on earth play together you have a wonderful and amazing rock single Phil on drums (amazing drum fills like always) Pino on bass Clapton on guitar with an amazing guitar solo ! an more these people are giants
Thank you so much for sharing this work of yours. This is one of my all-time 100 of every genre'. Although, he does sing much clearer than nearly all other artists, but then He is "Slow Hand", isn't he?

Hey, you appear tougher now then after Dec. '12. Anyhow, the holidays are coming. Oh, also, nice detailing, from roof top to tires. Oh, and also, I'll be out here tomorrow, hoping to see you, I got to decide to where and how much, not too much for the next one.
I was. Born with a guft. I hear sound with everything broken down, instrumentally, 2 or 3 notes I've got the vocals. I've started working with some outstanding Western artists whose work I see in their sound waves. Chord, pitch, wax & wane. Stay tuned for some of the best Western artists to unload on their canvas. Charlie Russell would've liked Blaze of Glory.
+CZ Maybe, but at this time when Jorneyman was released, he was way too big for fulfilling orders of recording companies.. It sounds more like he was finally found what he's been looking for a long time..
CROMarioVk You are correct. When "Journeyman" was in its first days of creation, at the time, his record company had been pressuring him heavily to try to write something similar to "Layla". This was eventually the end result.
I just melt when I see and hear Eric Clapton. Then add Phil Collins on the drums. Perfect combination.
Phil's drumming is a fantastic sound always enjoyed him behind the kit
I had no idea it was Phil Collins on drums!
Definitely one of my all time favorites!!
This what they call
" A Taste of Heaven "
Thank You !!
A taste of the road to heaven...💪👍

This is what happens when the record company dictates to the artist what they are going to put out...

First time l heard this song, I thought that is his final "answer" to Layla, because similar song structure, magical riff, and especially text..

lyrics, not text.
I see in some ways "pretending" (also on journeyman.) as being something along this vein as well. Just my opinion
Cool intro...
Cool everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
