Excellent video! Would you please share what line lock you used in the cab? I'd appreciate seeing a video of the installation (or final setup) of the line lock if possible, please!
I can’t think of what line lock I bought but it’s one you push down on. I’m not really liking it though. I think I’m going to switch to a ball valve type
Great and precise video...thanks for sharing this! I do have a question though...I have a 98 Wrangler (4.0) that I just put stainless steel brake lines on, and after bleeding them for the 4th time my pedal is still going nearly to the floor. SO, the master cylinder is gonna get changed out. My question is since (other than larger wheels/tires) my rig is basically stock, would this master cylinder benefit me? Thanks in advance for your time!!
Biggest question I have is about this working with ABS. Does your TJ have ABS? Mine does and I put prorock 60's with JK disc brakes all around. Curious if this upgrade will work on mine due to the ABS.
For anyone interested, looks as though the new axles don't have the ABS connections so the ABS installed on the jeep is a non issue. Just remove the relays. New booster and MC from Dave's Custom Unlimited or Parts Mike and you're good to go for the most part. Couple of other small details to consider like proportioning valve.
@@CardinalOffroad Do you recommend this MC for a jeep running with dana 44 front and rear with 35s? With stock set up brake power is OK..heard about this upgrade recently.
Cardinal Offroad and you ran all new hard lines and all? What size hardlines did you use? Will the factory ones be ok or is it better to get bigger size
Are you still running this same master cylinder and stock booster? Are you happy with the performance? I'm just finishing my 1 ton swap (superduty axles) and want to upgrade my master but want to keep it simple like you did.
I ram the stock master cylinder for about a year. It was good unless I was sitting still. I saved up my money and did a complete psc assist kit which I’ll have a video up soon. I love it. There’s no comparison what so ever. A little pricey but it’s nice turning 40s on concrete with 1 finger.
@@CardinalOffroad I am running psc full hydro steering with 43" sx stickies but my question was about your brake master cylinder from this video and if you are still running it and how your brake performance is. I need to upgrade mine and want to make sure I get the best master for my 1 ton tj. Love your channel, lots of good tech and your jeep is rad
@@rockjeep_tj9692 oh my bad haha. Yes I am. I’m happy with it for the most part but I need to bleed it better. If I had to do it all over again I would of done the dodge van one I think? I’ve heard people saying it is easier and works better. I can lock them up but I think if I bleed it more it will be much better.
I can’t remember the exact length but you have you measure the stroke like I did so your bolt is long enough or not too long. Are you positive the master cylinder isn’t going all the way back when off the brake

Super informative. Thanks for making these videos!

I didn’t have ABS. I think maybe 03 and newer had it, I could be wrong though
Yeah mine is a 2001.

Thanks for this video. I'm planning to upgrade on my 04 LJ. Did you buy this MC from autozone?
Kpvuppala thanks! yes I believe I got it from autozone if I remember correctly.

What did you end up using for the proportioning valve? Which one. I need to get my brakes set up on my tj ton swap
Willwood I think I got it from Jegs or summit

@@micahhaislett3792 yeah I think I used 3/16 which is probably the factory size. I just wanted everything to be new.
I just saw your other comment. What size lines did you run?
Ok thanks man

@@CardinalOffroad I have also heard of the 3500 dodge van Master cylinder. Do you know what year van they are using or a part #?
Thanks again
@@rockjeep_tj9692 I do not. I just remember reading it somewhere. It might of been on pirate
How long was your 1/4 28 bolt? When you bought it
It was about 1” longer I believe so it sticks out roughly a 1/2”. I measured the difference between the 2 so I knew how long it needed to be.
So is it 2” long from the threads sorry I’m barely doing this right know I press the pedal and it’s not reaching master cylinder
I can’t remember the exact length but you have you measure the stroke like I did so your bolt is long enough or not too long. Are you positive the master cylinder isn’t going all the way back when off the brake
Sorry for the dum comments I’m just trying to cut this 1/4 inch bolt to correct length you know?so make it 1/2 longer
@@darkmage4446 best thing is to take the master cylinder off and measure the stroke like I showed. Then there’s no guessing
