Diahann and Dionne!!!!! Baaaaaaaaabay!!! Two talented beautiful ICONS! How I love these two. Rest well Diahann. We need to bubble wrap Dionne while she is alive. She needs all of her flowers so she can enjoy them!
Dionne is one of THE CLASSIEST singers that we will ever see. Her poise and grace and POWERFUL vocals are what makes her the complete package. I love her music it's timeless in my humble opinion. And she is not only a legend in this business but a true gem of a human being.
Two wonderful Black Women who accomplished so much in their time when it wasn’t so easy. I like how Dionne describes herself as “a strong black woman” on pass interviews.
One thing that my mom taught me from a kid , was to always keep my head held high. When I watch these wonderful interviews , I see it in these legends . It’s to know who you are , your worth and your importance to self and those outside of you.
Two extraordinary sophisticated women, Diahann Carroll (1935-2019) and Dionne Warwick (1940 to present), from two separated backgrounds, coming together in conversation is amazing.
I love this interview , two legendary women who were excellent examples of being classy throughout life, being truthful about who you are and being true survivors of the entertainment industry. As Ms. Carole’s book states:”The legs are the last to go”. A excellent audiobook, There aren’t enough words to express the intensity of her music as a catalog to my life. I learned about singing through MS. Dionne. I cannot thank her enough for developing my love for music. May God always protect. Guide her steps and watch over her a;l the days of her life.❤❤❤❤❤❤I love you!!!!!q
I grew up during such a wonderful time in music ... dionne along with so many other wonderful artists from different genres in popular was part of my childhood ... love all her stuff. she was still making hits when i was a teen and loving the new wave, disco pop and rock hitmakers ... so many great songs, so many artists, in my lifetime. Fellow Jersey Girl Dionne, keep on rocking!! I’m gonna keep on listening 💜
These 2 beautiful ladies possess it all - beauty, talent and poise!! They're the total package and we're soooooooo very proud of them and what they've accomplished!! Thank you so very much for sharing!!💯
i dont know how old u are.. but if you notice all of our childhood heroes are dying every day .. u turn on the tv .. you tube sombody died yesterday u didnt even know they did. i never liked change i hate it.. i watched this lady from the late 70s to now amazing life dude..... shes 82 yrs old i mean clint eastwood is 92 and we all know who that is. its sad to me everyday to know the worse is yet to come very sad. so one day u will hear of her passing then u will know what im talking about... im just so use to her being here. thats what friends are for.. that song is what brings he to mind. i saw her in an interview not to long ago like i said she is almost 83 now and u can tell.
Very few women possess the grace and dignity of Dionne, not to mention that voice. She recalls first traveling to France where the sight of her, a black singer, prompted gasps in the audience. How tone deaf do you have to be to not hear immediately that Dionne Warwick is a woman of colour? In spite of that obvious racism, she and others gave the world a legacy of the greatest voices ever recorded, in jazz and soul, but also pop music
This was a great one. Dionne Warwick's songs are awesome, especially her Burt Bacharach ones. I hope Nancy Wilson's interview with History Makers is available on TH-cam eventually.
We're thrilled you enjoyed it! Ms. Dionne is such a gracious and elegant legend. Must add she is very funny!! There was a whole lot of fun shade going @30 mins-35mins. I tell you those legendary divas can throw shade without you knowing it. Ms. Dionne and Ms. Diahann was giving all kinds OF SHADE 🤣🤣🤣 👏 ❤ ♥
She’s so beautiful lovely lady too and she still is very intelligent woman who I truly love so dearly up to day I’m in love with her. Yes lives again my dear friend enjoy your life time together with your family and friends too Amen 🙏
Thank you! 🙏🏽 It feels so nice to hear my name, Dionne. This lady is a soft strong spirit! It’s a blessing to know that people are friends, or siblings in Christ! ❤ I was anointed to have a soft spirit, but standing is required in putting on the whole arm-our! I love you. Agape! ⌚️4️⃣🕊️. Getting armoured up right! 🙏🏽. God loves us all so much, yet he found a way to make life work for each of us! Waiting for answered prayer must be coming in the Dionne, not the Long, because it’s the longest! So long, but God is the love in us! In the world. 🌎 Period. God is with you! 💕I remember the very first time I saw Dionne! She was on Johnny Carson show! I was 10, 11?! No no, no no! Jesus is the way! Amen! 🙏🏽 Jimmy Carter was President! God’s will be done, and may prayers be answered and stay answered. We all deserve it! Agape! 🌾💕🌾 The words of her songs are strong and pure, and like she said, this is the black I was born knowing. I thought we were equal! 🟰 Amen. 🙏🏽 ⏰ A little outnumbered, and under-favored! An L. A. cry did what?! Eve?! Dianne Carol, you were always before us! Learning to love ourselves is the because of the greatest love of all! Yes.
It's really weird, they didn't consider her "black enough", when she was the consummate black woman, and any woman of color who could not, cannot pass her muster is, indeed, not black enough. At her ascendancy, she kind of represented the ascendancy of black women into American society, with her beauty and sophistication, which was both good and bad.
from her mold, came all the pop-elite that folks hear on top 40 stations, right now...today. Be them black or white, they are Beyonce', Rihanna, Adele, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey and her cousin, Whitney Houston. She paved the way for them, not Barbra Streisand. Streisand and Cher, were just as famous, if not more famous, for the movies they starred in. That was not Dionne's course in life. She sold a ton of records before it dawned on anyone that black women in the music industry, weren't supposed to do that in POP. And thats why I mentioned all those names..because NONE OF THEM were relegated to one genre of popular music. They went mainstream with ease. And the only other black female singer, who did that before them besides Dionne, was Diana Ross. But of course, it took MANY YEARS, before she was able to join Dionne on top of the heap, where recording pop music was involved..and she had to leave the Supremes, in order to do that. So, that tag "the Original Queen of Pop' may sound cheesy and contrived. But its actually true. The Original Pop Queen, wasnt Della Reese or Aretha Franklin or Ella Fitzgerald or Lena Horne. It was Dionne Warwick.
Two great black legends, one a great actress and the other a great singer. Sadly, both have passed away after battling cancer. Diahann looked way below her age here at 66 years. Dionne was 61 year and she too look young for her age. I am sure the audience would have love to hear a duet from these 2 icons.. RIP great ladies.
I just don't get it! Dionne is much younger than Dihahann? I just turned 48 and my brain is exploding. How is that even possible. Diahann looks same age. So much beauty and class on one stage
A little off topic... But, why does this video look like it's from 1978? Even though it was recorded the year I graduated- 2001? Am I.... am I getting old!?!? 😢
These fabulous women represent pure elegance and class. I wish other celebrities would take notes.
Diahaan Carroll was a class act and Mentor to Dionne Warwick.
She does pop with cleanliness and restraint yet gives it soul and intensity too. Dionne is the epitome of musical eloquence!
People don't understand that she was THE pioneer for Pop. The Queen of pop!
The Original Queen Of Pop.
Yep! Dionne was really THAT chick back in the day. Truly the best vocalist and pop star of her era
She was amazing. I love her.
But there is only one Queen.
her title is the queen of Smooth Pop
❤ DEAR Ms. Dionne, my entire family, Mother Father and 13 children 8 boys 5 girls! We all love you and your Family!
Both beautiful classy Ladies. Rest in Peace Diahann Carroll 🕊️
Diahann and Dionne!!!!! Baaaaaaaaabay!!! Two talented beautiful ICONS! How I love these two. Rest well Diahann. We need to bubble wrap Dionne while she is alive. She needs all of her flowers so she can enjoy them!
Amen to that!!!💯
Dionne is one of THE CLASSIEST singers that we will ever see. Her poise and grace and POWERFUL vocals are what makes her the complete package. I love her music it's timeless in my humble opinion. And she is not only a legend in this business but a true gem of a human being.
Dionne was and still is the TRUTH!!! I can see some of the mannerisms that Whitney H. borrowed.... Love ya Ms. Warwick .....
Agreed. Also Luther Vandross Loved And Incorporated Many of Her Mannerisms in2 his Performances. She Inspired Him.
I agree Miss Joan. She is real, honest and has such integrity. She is sexy yet a very respectful lady.
Two wonderful Black Women who accomplished so much in their time when it wasn’t so easy. I like how Dionne describes herself as “a strong black woman” on pass interviews.
These ladies are ICONS! I love the dignity, poise they possess. It’s unmatched.
Rest In Power Diahnn Carroll 🙏🏼🕊
One thing that my mom taught me from a kid , was to always keep my head held high. When I watch these wonderful interviews , I see it in these legends . It’s to know who you are , your worth and your importance to self and those outside of you.
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL, Dionne! Thank you for EVERYTHING!
Miss Dionne Warwick was such a talented singer
She certainly is! (She's still active)
Two extraordinary sophisticated women, Diahann Carroll (1935-2019) and Dionne Warwick (1940 to present), from two separated backgrounds, coming together in conversation is amazing.
What a great interview! Pure class from both of these legendary artists. RIP Diane Carroll.
I never knew Ms Carroll went home to the Lord. Condolences to Ms. Carroll's, family!😢
She reminds me so much of Whitney. Just pure and classy and a sweet angel. God bless her! 💖👌
They are/were cousins...as is Leontyne Price
She was Whitney's model. You can tell she looked up to her older cousin.
She's ALWAYS been classy. It's just her style.
So glad that Dionne did not use drugs so she would be alive and healthy, unlike her cousin Whitney.
@@andrealingenfelter576Agreed. No Big Ego, No Scandals. Just Classy@Humble, Yet Very Straightforward With A Positive Mindset.
Oh wow. This is an amazing interview. I'm glad it is available on TH-cam

Demonstration Record/ Tape never heard it called that before. I'm so used to "DEMO"
I Like Diahann Carroll's Laugh❤😊

Did you hear?
Dianne Warwick is STILL alive, still beautiful, fun-loving and STILL a great singer!!
Thank God!!🙏🏾💯
Dionne is still alive and signing
Where you been? Lol Dionne is alive right now July 4, 2022 lol
Yes she is still alive. Saw her on TV performing with Dolky Parton, and there is a TH-cam video of her singing with her granddaughter
Dominique deveareaux and dionne
Some of the best legs in the business . I hold my own ! Ms. Carroll was saucy in her old age .
We are thrilled that you enjoyed the program! We hope you'll subscribe & share our channel with others :)
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I just don't get it!
Dionne is much younger than Dihahann?
I just turned 48 and my brain is exploding.
How is that even possible.
Diahann looks same age. So much beauty and class on one stage
There was only 5 years difference in age between Diane and Dionne so I'm not quite sure what you mean
Wait. They spelled her name wrong?! I didn’t know that.
Does anyone know when this wonderful interview aired originally?
I could have done without Dianne pushing for shade when discussing Burt and Hal’s lackluster success without Dionne.
Black pop is so underrated
Dionne sure still have pretty legs. And that walk, she know she can strut and enter a room.
Your TH-cam Channel should do a Aroha-Love @TinaTurner
People just enjoy talking about other people too much now lol 😂 she got the real voice Orin’s songs she be singing so well good too
SIP Ms. Carroll
No offense..just curious but did Dionne have something wrong with one eye that causes it to close. I was just curious. I noticed this at certain times
lol light hearted humor mid point around @30:00 mark...
A little off topic... But, why does this video look like it's from 1978? Even though it was recorded the year I graduated- 2001? Am I.... am I getting old!?!? 😢
😬
Two great white legends!
Two great legends period (l loved them both as a child, my mother played Dionne records, she was the first black woman we saw on tv after Dianna)
Why do you say, "white legends"?
She was tough to work with
Really? Explain please.
Not one word about Whitney?!!!!!
Whitney was a kid then (born in 1963), for crying out loud!!
Hahaha, not her time Mark.
