lord... been reading all sorts of threads... asking questions of mach3/warp9 folks... none of which suggested this to me. this is all I needed and I'm very thankful you posted it! thanks
Excellent explanation. Have been using Mach 3 for a couple of years and never really understood offsets. Thanks for doing a simple, well described, training session of offsets.
thanks so much. I just broke my bit and have to wait until after the weekend to get a new bit and I was concerned with losing my position after I turn my machine off. This work awesome and it saved my g55 even after machine was turned off. Very Helpful... GuruBrew for the win.
You seriously explained it so good! I've seen other videos trying to set up my offsets and they talk like experts, but they don't explain good! And you did it so simple and so understandable!!! 🙏🙏 Thank you!
All this time has passed and I never knew what "Go To Zero" did. Thanks for the informative video. I hope you are doing well. It's been a long time since you have posted.
Awesome video, thank you. Always enjoy your vids, so helpful ! : ) I havent got my machine up a running yet. Decided to go with a Masso instead, so hopefully I'll figure that stuff out soon.
GREAT VIDEO.. THANKS A LOT.. I WATCHED A LOT BUT DID NOT CAPTURE HERE IS GOOD EXPLANATION.. just quck question.. how my g code runs if i put ziro in G56 my code start to mill in that g56 in corner as works zero ? any chance to make video for edge finder and center find for stock please?like same here with examples ????? really i will be appreciated... a lot of video i watched to much cnofused about it.. here you explain very easy my finger up.. any chance to contact with you .. i have what's app aplication i have some help.. ??
A big help thank you. One thing im struggling with tho..... xy datum position is always centre on my jobs, i cant understand how to set that when using an offset. i click in the middle of the circle it shows but the machine acts like xy datum is at a corner
Totally new to cnc and mach 3 and been having a hell of a time just getting the machine back to home after running a programme , if i go to machine co ordinates after the programme has run and click on go to zero only the z axis moves . So if i make a part and use G55 as my tool offset can i put G54 at the end of that code to tell the machine to go to home or machine reference zero ?
Thanks. I have been trying to figure this out. Now very clear. How does the Ref All Home button work? I click on it and knowing happens. Any help would be appreciated.
I saw one of your videos where you had I think a felt tip marker mounted on the router head where it was offset from the bit. And you went into mach3 and configured a button that would shift the XY zero to that position, then press another button to return to the XY of the bit. I can’t find it again. This method is similar but I would like to have the other one where it would be permanent on my machine. Thanks
I have 4 offset values in my gcode program. I selected a corner of my work piece and then 0,0 for G54 offset. I then referenced 3 other locations from G54 on the work piece and then zeroed each one as G55, 56 & 57 offsets. The program runs perfectly. When I exit the code I hit fixture save. When I reload the code the 3 offsets are in the correct location to each other but not the G54 0,0 position. How do I save the offset locations correctly when exiting the program? Thanks, I really loved your demonstration.
Hi, I am new to the Mach 3 world, I understand how to create, and use offsets, but how do I save them permanently? When I power off/on, they are always gone. I even hit "save" when I'm done. Great videos, thanks for all the effort you put in!
When setting up different starting points and running a program; can you have Mock3 switch to a different starting point to start on another program on the opposite side of the machine without having to stop?
Dear sir, I am facing big problem with my Mach3 cnc machine. Here, we face frequent electricity cut off problem. Sometime when electricity cut off, all the X, Y, and Z value in mac3 are changing when restart the machine again. Can not start from the same point where it stopped to work. It wast my expensive wood. I want to start from the same point where it stopped. Is there any solution to solve the problem? Please could you help me to solve the problem?
Did you set all your offsets from home G54 ? It looks like the way you did it won't get you to any offsets from home. Just wondering if its better to set all your offsets from home and not from another offset point. Very simple explanation though. Thank you
Have been using My DIY CNC for 18 years and never used or understood offsets, I understand now, but I just do one at a time using a jig so didn’t have a need for offsets. But if I were using multiple jigs I know how to now. VERY good explanation. Could you do a YT on MACHINE COORDINATES? Thanks
Love the video : I am a daily mach3 user . I know some but it is not my friend. I have a pretty cool screen set the big tex screen might want to check it out. Pretty nice running ATC but in manual tool changing so basically all tools on one file. It would make a pretty good video there is also laser x y position. Big fan thanks for the video and your time.
Hi, great video as I wrote earlier. I haven't got my machine yet so I am just trying to learn Mach3 while I am waiting. I have tried to do exactly the same as you but it goes to the same "0" points all the time??? Can that be because I have no machine connected or...? I would not think so and everything else seems to be working, so what can it be?
Hi, do you know what the VB code is to select a particular desired offset? I tried copying the code from the mach3 offset screen but that just gives an error.
Hi Guru, I noticed you do not make many video's anymore? When you were zeroing each offset I noticed that Z axis was the last to run. I think if you were to zero all then return to that point you may have an issue if you already placed the part on the table. Any way to change that?
Any thoughts of moving to mach4? I have a emco f1 running in demo mode (a gift). I am building programs that exceed the demo g code line limits. I am trying to decide if I should purchase mach3 or mach4.
May i ask something? If i shutdown the pc, home my machine(i have home limit switches and it auto zeroes when they are triggered) will the offsets still there or they reset it all?
Yah I've always wondered if there was a way for mach to tile a toolpath too rather than me making a different gcode for each length of wood I get, to just kick out like 8 signs in a row up a board.
lord... been reading all sorts of threads... asking questions of mach3/warp9 folks... none of which suggested this to me. this is all I needed and I'm very thankful you posted it! thanks
I read the manual several times trying to make sense of this but was still confused. You explained it so well, it all makes sense now. THANK YOU.

You are the best source for info on Mach3. They should pay you for your clear explanations.
Thanks for all the help you happen to be the best for fixing problems with Mach 3. Hope you are well
Excellent explanation. Have been using Mach 3 for a couple of years and never really understood offsets. Thanks for doing a simple, well described, training session of offsets.
you really explained it perfectly. now I'm begining to understand the whole offset thingy.
thanks so much. I just broke my bit and have to wait until after the weekend to get a new bit and I was concerned with losing my position after I turn my machine off. This work awesome and it saved my g55 even after machine was turned off. Very Helpful... GuruBrew for the win.

I have been watching Gurubrew for 5 years now, always come back for his tutorials. Clear precise and appreciated.
Thank you for showing you can Home over the material you are cutting and not just the lower left corner.
ive had mach3 for 1 week, your video helped out alot, its helped me understand the offset section and how to set up fixtures, cheers mate!!
This was very helpful, best description of the multiple G54-G55 etc I've seen yet.
This is exactly what i was looking for! Very concise and to the point and simple to understand. Thanks
Very neat video. Thank you Guru Brew for sharing your experience with the rest of the world.

Very simple & Clearly Explained. Thank you so much...
Thank You! This helped a lot for doing Repetitive cutting positions. Thumbs Up!
Very clear lesson on a very muddy subject, at least for me! Thanks.
Really good explanation of offset in Mach3

Thank you for this tutorial. After choose fixtures, can I start a program and automatically repeat that program for all fixtures?

Thank you, does this work the same way as NK 105?

Go to config, fixtures. and save your settings.
thanks again

Great...! Tks
Do we need to save position of every g offset or not

Awesome video, thank you., BUT, CAN YOU TELL ME HOW TO SET THE X, Y, AND Z ZERO? FOR THE FIRST TIME
May i ask something? If i shutdown the pc, home my machine(i have home limit switches and it auto zeroes when they are triggered) will the offsets still there or they reset it all?
Now if you have to change tools and need to "Auto Tool Zero" how do you manage z offset for the rest of fixtures?
Thanks! I didn't see how I would go beyond the G58. I want to run the same subroutine every 16" x 16" on a 4x8 sheet. Any help?
You might want to use a cad software to create a pattern then use sheetcam to write the g code for mach3.
Yah I've always wondered if there was a way for mach to tile a toolpath too rather than me making a different gcode for each length of wood I get, to just kick out like 8 signs in a row up a board.
