Are the codes standard per injector like a part number? Or is it just random generated codes. Why would the codes not match if it's the correct injector for the #8?
Every injector is an individual part and not specific to a certain position in the motor. The injector is tested after manufacturing for its specific performance parameters. You're telling the PCM that the performance information for the injector that has been replaced has changed. As an example, if you swapped injectors 2 and 4, you'd have to change the programming for 2 to 4, and 4 to 2.
Liked, subscribed (idk why I wasn’t already subbed!), THANK YOU so much. Your channel is so informative, and this information in particular is going to be a life saver with my new (to me) 2011 6.7. Changing injector # 7 hopefully tomorrow
I'm doing #3 this weekend. About 8 months ago I had a small shop do #1. I'm friends with the owner and he said he didn't program my #1 injector & I didn't need to program #3. Even though my truck has run great with no CEL, I trust your video and want to program both. I didn't get the sticker from him for #1. Is the IQ# stamped on the injector where I can get it for #1 or will I have to leave it be? Thanks! Great informative video!
Thank you for making this video, along with the seal leak one. Just got my injector replaced, and this is my next step with FORScan. You are making this job too easy for me, to do myself. Saved me some $! :)
Another great video.. Question Master ARod, I have a 2020 F350 SD that every time I start my truck and backup I get all these warnings on my dash that my Hill Start Assist, PreCollision, Hill descent is disabled. I’ve been reading that its been a problem for awhile with the ford trucks. It’s something with the electrical module. Have you heard about this? Thank you, friend in AZ..
Check for codes and look for communication issues. That is one of common problem with flooded or Ford trucks that have had water inside passenger side, check for corrosion inside BCM box.
Hello Arod. Hope you are doing well. You helped me out with a ccv question a few years ago and I'm hoping you (or someone else with experience) will be able to answer a quick question. I have a 2015 powerstroke and the number 6 injector gave up on me. I have my replacement and was putting it back in. I got to the part where I was installing the hold-down bolt. After a few threads, it started getting hard to turn and am concerned about the threads (I stopped at that point). The original bolt did come out without issue other than it squeaked most of way when I removed it. I'm just wondering if the tight threading is typical or whether I should try and run a long tap down there to clean up the threads. Any help from you or someone else with experience would be extremely appreciated. FYI - I'm writing you via this video since I'm going to use this video and forscan to program the ECU. This video enabled me to have the confidence to take on this project, so much appreciated for that too.
Great as always!! I have replaced all 8 fuel injectors on my customer 2017 f450 truck and tried to programm it with IDS but at the end of coding IDS shows "procedure unsuccessful". What you think could be wrong or any special sequence for coding? Thanks.
Good morning Sir, I replaced 2 injectors on 2014 F550 XL (RV) and installed the SSD cp4 disaster prevention kit. Using Forscan I updated IQA's. But there is not an option in Forscan to reset Fuel mass observer adaptations for my 6.7. Is it possibly named something else? It runs and no code, but has a 3 second delay when starting (cranks longer than previously) vr.
It is important in order to save the manufacturer money, and the customer too. Years back gasoline and diesel injectors had high manufacturing scrap rate when the fuel delivery test said they were out of acceptable volume range. Then they started sorting them into matched sets with similar flow rates but you had to replace them in full sets. BOING!!! How about having a system in PCM/ECM that would zero the injector open timing to the flow rate measured for that injector? Almost zero scrap and no warranty claims for a full set of flow rate matched injectors when only one fails.
Do you need IDS or can you do this with just forscan? I have P0269 and ford did say the #3 injector is bad. I wanna change it myself due to no loaner car and being 4-5 day wait with my appointment. Love your vids man!
How do I make my 2020 turbo louder? Will removing the silencer ring do anything? Went from an 07 with an 03 KC turbo upgrade to this. I don't want to hear traffic, my radio, my wife, the neighbors dog, I'm desperate, I need my turbo whistle back :(
What hardware and software do you use?? I really hope you can reply back as ive spent 600 dollars on a innova 7111 scan tool. For it to just tell me it does not support ford injector coding.. if you can please let me know what device i should buy and software i can download that would help me out a lot
What’s up with FORScan not being able to program the IQA codes on 2020 models. Is there an issue using the OBDLink EX vs a pass through device? There seems to be a lot of compatibility issues on the 20 and newer stuff. What changed from 19’s back?
They went to a completely new ECU in 2020, so until forscan gets it figured out for the newer ECU's it's not going to work. Just like how it took a good while for SCT to figure out how to program (break into) those ECU's.
My 12 doesn't have adaptive reset either. How long did it take for them to balance out after replacing injectors and programming them? I'm still getting smoke and shaking like the injectors are bad. But they have been replaced. Each time I drive it to get air put of the lines I keep getting codes with other injectors as will.
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod from my understanding, forscan reads the vin and will reach out to ford servers. There is a "as-build" as it came programed from the factory. Would we need to additional go back in and reprogram the new injector b/c of the change.
