Your videos are so polished it’s blinding (even with the occasional amusing framing issues!)
You keep all the homey feel of a vintage radio show, somehow with all the glamour and shine of a Hollywood warehouse, all from your basement sewing room. Simply an epically beautiful channel, your artistry is evident in all of it💙

Morgan Donner just made a great Pressing Station from a piece of old furniture. Noelle P of costuming drama mostly uses her big table, with a wool mat. Both worth looking in to, or combining.

It looks incredible . They said it would never happen but I love the resurgence of tie dye and also the crazy crochet pieces that are appearing. This dress is a cut above.

Hi Bianca. The dress turned out beautifully. I’m not normally a lover of tie dye, but the colours you chose were lovely. You, of course looked amazing in the dress. X

Love your hair and the hand dyed fabric! Always amazed at your sewing ability using an antique sewing machine. Makes sewing so approachable. You don’t need to wait to buy all the expensive computerized bling.

For a new ironing board I recommend looking into a DIY quilting ironing board. It's a piece of wood with a few layers of cotton batting and a top cover. It's my favorite way to go. 🥰

I never mastered tightly woven or high thread count fabrics but I can tell you the secret for thick sheets or thickly stacked jersey knit : 1) wedge your fabric tightly inside a barrier so the melt water has nowhere to go but through the material. 2) pile your ice at least as deep as the thickness of the material to be dyed then add a layer for good measure.

    • @hailtothefire_

@@AntelJM It's possible, but I watch wood working channels too, so I'm not quite sure. Maybe it's just getting a lot of attention and youtube is pushing it or something.

I have started buying neutral coloured fabric as well as white just so I can dye my own colours, it’s nice to work with my own choices in colours , but it’s nice knowing that it’s the only one out there.
I have a Overlocker which I do use so the fabric does not fray while working with it, but I have started felling all of my seams as I love the finished look on the inside of the garment, I have found that when it comes to pressing the garment after washing is so much easier.

I love these geode tie dyes so much... and the dress is just delicious on you.
I found a source of summer ice.... the skating arena goes all year because hockey, and the zamboni dumps a heap of shaved ice outside the community centre. Might be worth looking into if you live near a year-round skating rink? You'd think in summer the pile would melt immediately but it lasts longer than you'd expect.

Awesome fabric!! The dress looks fabulous. Noted the comment about using the fabric in quilting ( I m an avid quilter). Can see this type of fabric used to create a ladder around a solid or a narrow border to add a unique finish. I’m sure you could turn the fabric scraps into something gorgeous whether a quilt or a handbag. Keep those creative videos going!!!
