The best thing they ever released imo. I love this EP. I really enjoyed neighborhoods, but this EP was the next step and the direction I HOPE they take with the new album.
i come from the future. sorry to break the news but......their new album doesnt have the certified-blink sound that we know and love. anthem part 3 and one more time are the only good songs from the album. but a deluxe version will be coming out August 2024 with several new songs being added. fingers crossed.
What an interesting time for the band. They had just recorded a solid EP and were filled with optimism and motivation for the band, and then almost immediately afterwards Tom left. I remember reading some interview or something right after Dogs Eating Dogs and they said they couldn't wait to get into the studio because they were just so pumped to start a new album, and then the Tom thing just came out of nowhere. I almost cried the day he left, and again when they announced he was back, lol.
@@Martin2k17 I think at that point Tom had fallen out of love with music because he didn't do much with Angels & Airwaves either, he somehow found his passion for it again with the divorce and with the last album of AVA
@@fersan92 I think you just answered the big question. He went through a divorce and possibly lost half his assets and needs more capital for his space company. He made himself find passion. 😅
I felt like dog eating dogs was the second calling of the self titled album. You could of easily put it after it and then say that neighborhoods was after all that. I find it funny that were like this is the best we ever have been and then Tom left lol.
Lmao it is kinda funny he left right after 💀. But I think I'd say neighborhoods is the untitled part 2. Like half of the neighborhoods songs were actually started back in 2003. Then I'd say DED is the progression of neighborhoods.
Truly a weird time for the band. I remember Tom saying in an interview something along the lines of "blink might be done making full-length albums" and Mark a couple of days later being like "Yeah, no."
dogs eating dogs still my working playlist I put this whole album to fit my 8hrs work & still not get bored. disaster is my fave. itd be lovely to see em live. please consider Jakarta for a stop. before I die :)
Aside from the title track - which I think sounds a bit run of the mill, uninspired - I think this is a great EP. It sounds more cohesive, which I think is a result of them actually being together in the studio. When I was young is a GREAT opener!
@@12Daniel34 I love the title track too. But I actually really like pretty little girl. Yelawolf verse included. In my opinion it's not as bad as everyone says but to each their own
Whole hardly disagree. It was like they pulled all their music from their prior projects and put it together in this one album. This was part of Travis
I didn’t feel any emotions from Edging. I want badass DeLong riffs. Like the Enema days. I’m a drummer, and Travis is one of the best. But the power of Blink is Tom’s riffs. Edging has nothing. Maybe they just finished a Skiba song? I hope Tom does his thing in the next album. That must be a lot of pressure.
@@yesnickcarter it's not supposed to be something super special. It's kinda like all the small things of new blink. It's been on the top #1 of alt rock for like 10 weeks now. It's a great song imo but I will agree it is lacking. But aren't (most) enema - take off blink singles kinda lacking?
@@Jaxon_69 No, most enema - take off blink singles aren't kinda lacking. They're classic blink. Edging just sounds like a band tried to emulate blink-182, but ended up making a very generic song without the magic the real blink-182 used to have.
Mark can write some amazing lyrics... Listen to go, Stockholm syndrome, apple shampoo, Adams song, hearts all gone, fighting the gravity, dogs eating dogs etc....

Tom was hooked on pain pills and he lost it... he's never been the same. Especially live. Still love the man

I could watch every second of them recording every song they've ever pressed in the studio.
best album or EP, the mosttt perfect!!!

Holy Shite! Travis has two techniques I've never even seen before. He's like a mad chemist w/a built in odd metronome behind the kit.
We need another Transplants album also. Sic Travis🤘🎸🤘
LOVE Dogs Eating Dogs. I think at this point Tom was spread too thin with all the projects he took on and Mark and Travis wanted his sole attention.
Truly a weird time for the band. I remember Tom saying in an interview something along the lines of "blink might be done making full-length albums" and Mark a couple of days later being like "Yeah, no."

Same, I haven't listened much since 2001, but I was pleasantly surprised to hear the new EP. It's well polished.
I couldn't agree more. My favorite work of theirs
Wow, I really disagree, I love the title track and its Hoppus-style angst. The one with Yelawolf or whatever he was called, on the other hand...

Dogs Eating Dogs and the debut Box Car Racer album was the best music Blink has ever done _ and yeah Mark recorded on Box Car.
They ruined Pretty Little Girl by have Yelawolf on it. (IMO).
Imo Yelawolf verse is good. I don't think it makes the song better but it doesn't make it worse. It doesn't really change anything for me.
I like rap, rock, hip hop and all but this feat is so unnecessary
Travis idea but I don't mind is actually one of my favourite song from post break blink period

Good at all, i dont see any problems
Top !!
I really hope the new album is gonna be as interesting and creative as this EP, but I doubt it after hearing Edging...
Edging is good. It’s a single, which means it needs to be catchy and get attention from normies. It achieved that.

Edging is insane
OK really cool but I want to see where they thought the part of Yelawolf was a good idea
You made that
Why are they trying so hard to convince us things are like they used to be?
I dont believe any of the hype, what i believe its very difficult keeping a band together
A lot better than neighborhoods
