Hey Will! Thanks so much! I remember buying my BMMCC and witching your videos about the OG and what cards to use lol, I bought a Kingston off your recommendation. :))
thx! been these these older blackmagic cameras used on sale every now and then and was wondering if there still good, does seem like its still pretty good! always love how blackmagics footage looks
Yes! These cameras are still great! Though unless you just want one for experimental reasons I would actually recommend getting a pocket 4k or 6k, they can actually be found around $900-$1000 at times (on Ebay). Lowest i've seen was $800 for a BMPCC4k.
@@kurencee yes the pockets are real good, used a 4k before. Although im personally not the biggest fan of the the form factor of the camera. Thank you for the suggestion tho!
Thanks! I have a Nikkor 17-35 2.8 that lives on this camera, That's what most of the footage in this video was shot with . Sometimes you can find them cheap due to having broken autofocus.
to a certain point, yes, you can get nice results of it. Sold mine in the end, after several years of sticking to it, got tired of fighting the ubiquitous moire/aliasing. It's main strengths are RAW (even more moire/aliasing though) and the color science, particularly skin tones. But nowadays most of the latest Panasonic/Sony cams render skin tones just fine, with great stabilization, no above mentioned issues, low noise and decent cinematic DOF
Hey! I noticed there aren't many products available anymore, mine wasn't branded but it was just a simple NPF to LP-E6 adapter. Here's a quick link. www.ebay.com/itm/202398362571?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Bp-z_5qhSIG&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=qLwGfsD2S3i&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Nope, when I was looking for the OG prices were creeping up due to their popularity coming back, but I was able to grab the Micro which ended up being better for my needs.
@@KurruptedDataYouT yeah i got two peeps wyth each for 600 the micro with care and. monitor the 4k just body i love the fairchild look but can come close in post to it with the 4k At some point i would love to collect all of the black magics.
Nice! I was considering buying a used S5 or Z6-7 Nikon but I also want to buy my first big boy camera - the Blackmagic Ursa Pro 4.6k. Let me know which camera you end up getting!
Never owned a real cinema camera but I own the Panasonic Lumic GH2 and GH4 and I have a G7. I have the Olympus OMD E-M1ii also. The GH4 and E-M1ii have Log recording so I guess they are kind of cinema cameras but not 100% pro cinema.
Did I hear you say the BMMCC records in Braw? Or is it RAW DNG that you meant?
Yes, I meant CDNG (Braw is amazing too)
Bro, I love this video. I have an s5iix and I think I made my mind in getting my b and c cams
Thanks man! What cameras are you going to get?
TRUTH! keep it coming.
Great video man! The micro is a killer :)

My first cinema camera was Pocket original, it gave me great confidence to believe blackmagic as a camera company.
Nice I see the tokina 28-70 there too
Yes - I have a love / hate relationship with that lens lol.

Thank You!

Thank you I try :))
Would love to see your rig breakdown with your BMMCC..
I already broke it down to put it on my z cam 🥹
Great video! The content and delivery is great. If you do choose to make more similar videos, I would watch.
Glad you enjoyed it! More vids to come.
What lens do you like on the micro ? Great style of youtube video, chill and helpful

my first cam is the bmpcc og and i love it
These little cameras are amazing, I'm never selling my micro. I'd love for blackmagic to get with the times and release a box camera already.
where could I buy one of those LPE6 to NPF adapters?
ebay
I can’t seem to find any info on the battery adapter you mentioned, do you have any links ?

The new Micro Studio Camera just came out, I would love to see your impressions.
I'll consider making a video!
Have you used the black magic pocket og?

yes, 1080P
John Brawley still uses this camera but avoid using any of the current Pocket cameras. That is saying something.
