Bro, You just saved my life. I was sick and I had to stay at home. In my band class we were practicing assembling and disassembling the clarinet. While I was practicing, the bell got stuck and I was freaking out. This video helped me so much. Respect 👍🏼
this just helped me, i got my mouthpiece stuck in my bottom barrel doing something stupid i saw on tiktok, it was a precessional, i should have known it wouldn’t work out for me, but thank you, i got it unstuck and it’s working perfect 😭
Been a professional musician over 50 years. This issue just came up with a new student and it worked perfectly. It took about a half an hour to finally work it out but
Didn’t think this would work cuz it was so suck not even a piece of paper could fit in but after a couple hours of rocking I could fit it in and this worked like a charm
I'll have to try this next time. Usually what I do is stick the barrel and upper joint in the fridge for a few minutes. I take it out, and the barrel will come off. My clarinet doesn't have cork problems. It just happens to get stuck because of the moisture. My clarinet is also made out of wood. So, it could be because my clarinet expanded from the warm air from practicing. That's why I usually stuck it in the fridge.
Any suggestions where we are talking a metal clarinet and the barrel has been in place for decades, perhaps. (And no, I have not tried your method, yet. But my recollect is that there is no wiggle in any direction.
Shoot, The clarinet is not budging and I don't see a single gap to put paper between ;-; what do I do??? I even tried asking my dad for help and it not budging either- I even tried getting knife between the gaps (Spoiler alert-I broke the knife) WhAt dO I Do
• Mika • keep trying to rock the barrel in the opposite direction so it opens up enough to get paper in there. You may need to rock it back and forth a bit.
Sorry for the late reply, if this doesn't work then next best option is to leave it in the fridge overnight and try again. This will dry out and shrink the wood.
jade Lopez if you can get the paper in then you should be all set. Just tilt the barre towards the side with the paper then put multiple pieces in the other side and repeat. Use as much paper as you can fit. It can take awhile but it will work.
If you got it in there you’re halfway there, just put more paper in the other side and keep rocking back and forth. It takes a lot of patience sometimes but it will come off.
My barrel was super stuck and this technique completely saved my life .
My sister's clarinet barrel was stuck. And I just tried this method. It worked perfectly thank you so much!

Oh my goodness....... I wasn't expecting that to work. But boy did it!
Thank you so much for posting this video! It helped me get a barrel off that I had been pulling at for a while. Thank you so much!
Another thing thats quite helpful is wearing a rubber glove, it creates friction and helps your hands not slip.
This is fantastic thank you! It was the middle two sections that got stuck, and I was struggling...
you're great, I've just unstuck the bell of Buffet E13 in A key with your method! thank you so much!

Sorry for the late reply, penetrating oil works best for this purpose, just soak it and let it sit.

@@Jared_De_Leon Is this safe for wooden clarinets?
My new wooden clarinet is stuck and theres NO gap
Im so done
I don't see a gap where I can stick a paper in it, I can only stick in back no where else, What do I do?
So can you stick it in on the back side of the instrument?
@@Jared_De_LeonA bit edit: nvm I can't anymore
• Mika • keep trying to rock the barrel in the opposite direction so it opens up enough to get paper in there. You may need to rock it back and forth a bit.
@@Jared_De_Leon it won't open up
• Mika • you can try leaving it in the refrigerator for a few hours in that case.
THANK YOU!!!!!!
I have the opposite problem. The bell won’t go on. Any ideas/tips on what to do?
Like it won’t stay on or it won’t fit?
@@Jared_De_Leon it won’t fit
M. Baker probably not the right bell for the instrument. Either take it to a tech to have the socket enlarged or get a new bell.
@@Jared_De_Leon okay. Thank you for your help
HELP PLEASE THIS ISNT WORKING AND IM CRYING SO HARD, MY BAND TEACHER IS ACTUSLLY GONNA KILL ME AND IM STRUGGLING TO BREATHE, I NEED HELP
big brain
So what do u do if there is absolutely no crack
Keep rocking it until a gap appears. It doesn’t need to be much. If there is still no gap leave it in the fridge for a few hours and try again.
I need more help pls, its stuck and this didn't work

@@Jared_De_Leon okay, nice video😌
@@111-n4b9y Did it work for you?
I tried this and it’s not working , and it’s really stuck and I have band today , any other tips ?
Were you able to get the paper in?
@@Jared_De_Leon yes, but only on the sides and in the front, it looks like the back is completely closed where I can’t fit it in.

@@Jared_De_Leon wait omg- IT WORKEDDD!!! YAYY THANK YOU SOOO MUCHH!!! :))
my barrel doesn’t rock 😃⁉️
(it won’t twist, rock, move, anything)
try hitting the barrel on your hand not too hard but hard enough to get it to rock a little. if that doesn’t work idk
How about the mouthpiece- I need help it’s not getting off
Do the same thing, check all sides for a gap. It doesn’t need to be a very big gap, just enough to fit a piece of paper.
it’s not working help
Got the paper stuck in there too 😡🤬😰😥😓😫😭
If you got it in there you’re halfway there, just put more paper in the other side and keep rocking back and forth. It takes a lot of patience sometimes but it will come off.
👏🏽🎅🏼
My fucking bell is stuck and it WONT COME OFF WHAT THE FUCK
I cant even get my barrel on-
Oh boy, better get it to a tech...
This didn't work for me because my barrel does not rock in the slightest. Thanks anyway.
is your clarinet still stuck?
I'm really sure you can build it yourself. I did this 2 weeks ago thanks to the Woodglut plans.
