- A semi improvised piece inspired by a translation made by Dr Armand D'Angour of the "Frog Chorus" from Aristophanes´ play "The Frogs". The recurring aulos riff represents the Frogs chanting "Brekekekek koax koax", and the interjecting episodes, represent the God Dionyus complaining that they are upsetting his rowing rhythm.

The funniest thing about "The Frogs" is that the title creatures only appear in a single scene. He named the whole play after a thing that appears in a single scene, and it's basically a throwaway gag. That alone makes Aristophanes a legend.
Brekekekex koax koax, ever heard frogs in greece sing? Astonishingly it sounds right like that. And the rythm of the whole play seems to be dedicated to them.
I'm actually writing a choral setting of Aristophanes' "The Frogs" for TBB choir and Louvre Aulos! This is great inspiration!
Circular breathing goes hard
It really does sound like frogs marching. Thank for recording this, I love it.
It really sounds like frogs hopping in the underworld
me and my sister started breakdancing to this
that must look so cool!!
WOW! Circular breathing while playing two instruments at the same time! That must take SO MUCH practice! Good job, and keep it up! I love this.
This is one of the best sounding instruments out there. I would love to own a pair myself one day. 🙏🏻
This is great!! I like it a lot!
fabulous! cheeky and virtuosic
So cool! You can definitely hear the frogs' chant come through on your playing.
It looks like the tone holes that aren't used for a song get plugged with wax; do the written songs indicate how to set up the aulos for it, or do you have to look at what notes are being played and figure it out from that? (Or some other option I haven't considered?) Have you found through experimentation some modes(?) that you like? I play the oboe and I'm teaching myself Scottish piping on a chanter right now, but I really love the sound of the aulos, too.
I saw your playing on the "Rediscovering Ancient Greek Music" video, so I'm really glad that the recommendations threw your video my way. Thank you for sharing this performance of "The Frogs"! It's a fun, bouncy song and the translation is humorous. I like it. =)
