On one of the French banknotes from the 1970 (I think it’s the 50 franc one) the queen is leading the French Revolution NAKED. I was shocked when I saw that banknote
I think you are referring to the 100 franc that depicts Eugene Delacroix. I had to laugh at your comment though when I was a child I too was shocked...Nudity on banknotes is somewhat less common now than it was previously. Yet when it is featured on a note it is in a classic artistry manner and not intended for the purpose of being naughty. In addition to France, Argentina, The United States among others have had naked beings on their banknotes.
You may enjoy the coin and banknote site numista.com. it is where many collectors track and explore the world and keeping records of their collections.
@@NumismaticNoteswithBenjamin yes that had me chuckling too, you can also see the queen of the seas naked, riding a shark on the cook island 3 dollar commemorative banknote, that one is really amazing, i wish to have it in my collection.
It might amuse you to know that the people if the Cook Islands were so surprised by the world's response to the naked lady on a shark, that for the next version if their 3 dollar, they showed people leaving church. That is the story told. Have you seen that note?
Very nice banknote..
A town I lived in was named after him.
