Western Samoa 2 Tala
Before there was a Samoa, there was a Western Samoa, and before that Samoa. This older well loved note is from the time of Western Samoa. I like the tropical vibes of this note. You might as well. Enjoy this and all of my other Samoan banknotes @NumismaticNoteswithBenjamin

Tractors On Banknotes
มุมมอง 8714 วันที่ผ่านมา
I grew up around tractors. Many of my childhood friends were driving them years before they could even reach the pedals on a truck or car. I have found memories of the improvements on tractors. I remember old style with no compartment, you were as hot as the weather outside. Thank Goodness for straw hats. Then came the compartments with a radio and an oscillating fan! Even better were the ones ...

Fantastic Beasts and on What Banknotes They Can Be Found
I am a fan of notes with train on them. There are quite a few steam engines on notes from China.
@@Rock51ie I think trains are a very collectible theme.
Love the old school note and great information on "Western" Samoa. Two sunsets! Didn't notice until you pointed it out. Better to have something than nothing! Happy New Year!
It’s a great note for sure! Happy New Year to you too.
Yes, but what’s the story? Where were they discovered? Pawn shop? Coin store? Bank? What state? Just curious.
All of this happened in Oklahoma. They were brought into the coin shop where I shot the video. They were graded and sold on. It was a neat experience. I am not sure that any bank in OKC still keeps notes like this in their vaults. But I am sure there are surprises once you get to banks in smaller towns...
What’s the story behind these?
These notes all came in as a mini hoard. It is not common to have this quantity and condition in hand. This video was shot, and follow ups were made after authentication and grading.
nice
I have quite a number of lower grade notes, mostly older scarce notes. I only upgrade to higher quality if one is not too expensive. Many fine or very fine notes are very acceptable, in my opinion.
@@Rock51ie I agree. I did not always feel that way...
I just looked at my list and I have this note in Unc. It is really stunning looking at the scan on my tablet. The color and the spiral engraving really stands out.
on many notes like this I love the grading of the colour on the suns. Just the grading in general, it gives the note some energy.
It does make the note look much more dynamic.
The advice that I took from Stuplubak with regards to circulated notes is this: get the first note in any condition you can get, and in the future, if you find a better quality one, upgrade it :0) Thanks for sharing!
I like that idea!
Beautiful notes! So full of life and color. And the 60 denomination!!! FANTASTIC! Good effort on the pronunciation.
I agree! It's a great set of notes!
I recently acquired one even though I hate snakes!! Still a beautiful bill
I font like snakes either, but this is a cool banknote...

Interesting 😊
Glad you think so!
Where could I get the same set? I am new to banknote collecting and love the set.
You can check polymernotes.org. that is where I got the notes.
Also yuri111 on ebay has a lot of notes if you are just starting out...
Planning to get this note after Christmas, very cool double commemorative note which i havent seen before, plus the obvious printage number
I think in 20 years I will be glad I have this note..
it upsets me to see the chains on the elephants. I found another chain bill for you. I remember one with workers on a rig but the one I found in my collection is P18 north Korea. the reverse is scenes from an opera and the women on the right is holding a chain.
@@davidwordsworth5584 I have that note! The notes from Africa sometimes actually show people sold into slavery and chained together...its very sobering indeed.
Another beautiful set. you are lucky to get it. you are unique, 1 in 2000 at maximum.
The 60 tala commemorative is 1000.
👍👍👍
This may be an expensive note.
It's still reasonable on ebay...but that is about $130. You can buy it cheaper from polymernotes.org it takes a couple of weeks to get it from Slovenia. It's cheaper from them. Only 1000 of the 60 and 2000 of the 5,10,20 tala.
I was watching Half Asleep Chris and there is a zero Euro from Finland with Santa Claus on it.
@@davidwordsworth5584 I would love to get half asleep chris to watch my channel . And then promote it!
@davidwordsworth5584 I have seen some very pretty 0 euros ...I didn't know there was a Santa one...
Mao is a bit of a cuddly bear does he count?
Lol
Canada has a coin with a Panda on it.
Ben I would nominate you to be on a Christmas banknote.
Ho ho not sure about that!
Mao is clearly a much more adorable and cute pooh bear
Liang Jun maybe the first women trained after the revolution to drive a tractor. After being on this banknote she made a career in agriculture and politics. She died at 90 in 2020. Tractors are as common as bovines. The list is long.
It's another favorite theme of mine.

@@NumismaticNoteswithBenjamin sorry, years of doing dad jokes.
The tractor is a mainstay on many notes when countries want to celebrate their agricultural sector. Love them!
I find them nostalgic.
My Assumption would be because commemorative banknotes are quite often rare, and putting religious iconography might be seen as an endorsement of a particular religion and violation of secularism like in france where they have a different concept of religious liberty, plus a lot of western countries use the Euro, as well as not all Christians may be in favour of that, as I know a few catholics who are opposed to Christmas turning into a holiday about buying presents so literally making Christmas into money might also be distasteful to them
@frogger1674 a fair assumption. The Muslim world has mosques all over their banknotes. Buddhist nations have iconography all over their banknotes. Every nation has notes with a religious bent. There is even Noah's ark on a banknote.nlots of western nations have religious aspects to their notes: legends, churches, religious figures. This was really more of a prod, since several Asian nations and Fiji are releasing yearly Asian zodiac notes at affordable prices. I think that a Christmas theme note would be unique and extremely popular. And a lot of countries are now doing Christmas coins as well. I hope you will visit my yourube channel and see if any of my 250+ bank note videos would tickle your fancy.
@NumismaticNoteswithBenjamin I definitely agree with you. Of the countries brought up I can probably see Armenia maybe making a Christmas banknote, though I dont think itd be anytime too soon. Noah's Arc is much more wrapped up in Armenian Nationalism than Christmas, though the very fact theyd make a religious banknote makes it more likely, plus theres the precedent of them actually making commemorative banknotes. And also I already watch your channel, love your videos, I just dont comment too often
Nice note. I'm liking the microprint too.
I love the purple back of that Brazilian note!
@@EmanuelsWorkbench Purple is a great color on a banknote
Great job, I really like collecting African banknotes. Thanks for brightening my day. Do you think the Krause books will ever be published again? The banknote museum has been assigning type numbers with a W prefix rather than P.
Sadly, I do not think there is a will to publish. However, it may be slow, but the Pick# are still geing generated and published thru numismaster. The Banknote Museum is improper and are at risk for breaking the law. People on Numista.com are using numista numbers or other catalog numbers. I update real numbers when I can. I remove the fake W numbers as I come across them. I get a lot of pleasure from my African notes. I am scheduled to teach at the ANA Summer Seminar both weeks. World coins one week and world notes another week...I hope someday to be able to do a whole week on Africa.
Great note!

Very nice video mate 🎉
These politicians need to be held accountable for some of these decisions. Between the corrupt police( who by the way make $180k a year to be a detective. Which blows my mind. ) and the corrupt state politicians this state is definitely one of the worst to live in. I feel so bad for all these young couples that can't even afford to purchase a 800sqft home anywhere within 90 minutes of Boston
A bit beyond the scope of this video maybe. Maybe true perhaps...
โจรขโมยของทุกคน
There's indeed an automobile assembly line featured in the 100 ringgit banknote of the same series. You can check it out
Maybe not that exciting of a theme for banknotes - but they were really cool! Thanks for sharing!
Although it might not seem exciting...some notes in this category show planes under fire...getting shot down, flown upside down to indicate the death of a the pilot...or like my favorite plane note..one showing the construction of a plane. This theme has depth in places...I do prefer natural themes tho. Someone expressed surprise about the US note with a plane. I don't think that plane was impressive...I might be thinking of another note tho...or plane...
The Chinese fen is a DC-3. The 500 kip with the Plain of Jars is on my Ben list I love it.

Benjamin, hello! I am your subscriber and I am glad that you made a video about my favorite topic, airplanes on banknotes. I do detailed research on each such banknote myself, during which I try to figure out which airplane is depicted on each banknote and why. If you are interested, you can find more than 30 videos on this topic on my channel. I run my channel in Russian, since this is my native language, but I try to make English subtitles for each video. It is a little strange for me, that in your video you did not show a single American banknote, although, for example, the 20 Dollars of 1914 was the first banknote in the world (!) with an image of an airplane. On the 5 Rubles of 1938 - not a pilot, but a parachutist. The plane on the 200 Escudos of Cape Verde first appeared in 1989, long before this plane crashed. But why they continued to produce it in 2005, after the crash, is a question. Thanks for the video!
@AlexeySalykin I only include banknotes I own. So no mention of the US note. I will definately look at your channel. Thanks for the subtitles. My Belarussian friend can help as well.
hello, good banknote , can you make a video about the Guatemala 20 Quetzales 2021 200 Year Independence banknote?
