I Want Your Love by Transvision Vamp! 😎🔥🤘🎸
Yeah...That's a banger of a tune
@@terra274 Absolute banger! 😎🔥🤘🎸
"Tell That Girl To Shut Up" and "Bad Valentine"
The one that put them on the map, it's for sure a good one. I'd also recommend Trash City, almost a kind of cyberpunk anthem.
@@MelodicRockAnthem It definitely put them on the map! 😎🔥🤘🎸
I was a child in the 80's and I can confirm that Wendy James is one of the biggest reasons why 90% of young lads in the 80's didn't grow up questioning their sexuality.
Yeah but 90% of girls did 😊
@@lilywhitefiI used her smash hit posters to cover my school books 😅
I Agree 💯💥💥
Never thought of that. But very true 😂👍
Wendy James, Debbie Harry and Kate Bush (so my husband tells me 😅).
The riff is very similar to 'Wild Thing" by the Troggs.
@Jay and Amber: You would not only enjoy "Wild Thing", you would love their other hits "With a Girl Like You", "Love is All Around" (famously covered by Wet Wet Wet for the movie FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL), "I Can't Control Myself" and "Anyway You Want Me". The Troggs were another British Invasion band in the US in the mid 1960s 🎉
@@ChristopherNorris_CopyGhosting I tried suggesting them over and over.
I've always thought that Wendy James is the female equivalent of Billy Idol 🎉
Except she can't sing, and that was the opinion of most music interrested people in the 80 ies😅
Not even Patty Smith can sing or Bob Dylan, or to stay in the pop sphere Kylie or Madonna, but they were successful anyway.
@@StGeorge67did you ask them all like? must've took a bloody while
Don’t forget to watch " I want your love ; Tell that girl to shut up ; The only one ; Sister moon ; Revolution baby ; Landslide of love "
Calling Wendy James spunky cracks me up, it means something totally different in the UK 😂😂
Yeah it's been cracking me up haha
i think spunky means the same thing in the UK. spunk on the other hand....
Too many jokes. Lots of positive attitude 😊
Saw Transvision Vamp in concert in 1989. They were amazing live, you have to listen to the album that this track comes from - Velveteen. It’s a Tour De Force from start to finish
And just like that I’m 13 again screaming along to this in my bedroom to my mothers utter dismay 🤣🤣🤣 thanks guys 🙏
Me 2 😅
know what albums will be in the car for the next month!
One photographer took a picture of her wearing a t-shirt and ripped jeans and she replied I look good in anything 🤣😁🤣.
"I Want You're Love" was their other huge hit here in Australia. Great band ❤
Great reaction by you, Jay and Amber. Some other songs by them are:
"I Want Your Love",
"Revolution Baby",
"Tell That Girl to Shut Up",
"Sex Kick",
"Hanging Out with Halo Jones",
"The Only One",
"Falling for a Goldmine",
"Trash City".
There are many more but these are good ones to continue with.
Finaly Transvision Vamp. I love this group.
They have so many great songs: i want your love, tell that girl to shut up, trash city, andy warhol's dead ... and many more
I’ve been waiting ages for you to react to Transvision Vamp!
Real iconic Uk band of the late 80’s and Wendy James, every teenage boy had a poster of her
Finally !!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. You don’t know how much I have waited. But you missed Hit number 1 " I WANT YOUR LOVE". 🎸
“I want your Love next PLEASE!! This band rocks regardless of the track you choose!
One of my favorite bands. Wendy James is stunning but has a killer voice. "I want your love"
That song and their whole "Velveteen" album still rocks! Wendy James was born to front a rock band!!!
Never thought I'd see someone react to Transvision Vamp. A real blast from the past
Also sample 'The Primitives ' and their song CRASH. Another fab British group 👌
That was in the charts when my best friend from primary school died in a motor cycle crash. It's a good way to remember him.
Tranvision vamp - "I want your love" is the one to beat it's wild awesome.
This is the most pop song on the album.
I got stuck on this album for a long time, every song is different and shows her and the band’s talent.
'I want your Love' is another must watch and listen banger. DO IT! Please.
I remember this in the UK. Was massive at the time.
Finally - a reaction to Transvision Vamp. They only had 3 albums but they were awesome - it doesn't matter that they used riffs from other songs, they were just so great in the late 80's/early 90's. Always a party vibe. Wendy James is currently solo.
Wendy James single handedly kept Kleenex in business in the eighties.
90s 2000s 2010s 2020s ...
Didn't she just, I think the sock industry flourished too😂
“I want your love” was huge in South Africa when I was around 11yrs old! ❤
Oh my gosh- this is literally one of my fav songs!! I was blasting it in my car the other day and was like “I should recommend this to Rob Squad.” And someone beat me to it! XD
Guys, another VERY underrated singer from the 80s is Annabelle Lwin from a band called Bow Wow Wow. Pleeeease check out one of their songs called 'Cowboy' from 1982. When you listen to it remember she was only 15 years old when she sang that. It's such a powerful song, the bass guitar and electric guitar right from the first moment just seem to build up and up and up through the whole song. It's catchy but dramatic sounding. It's one of those songs that you'll remember for the right reasons.
Their song ”I Want your love” is to die for!! This is ok! Please react to “I want your love” next!
I absolutely adored this band back in the day, still do! Thanks for this one!
Transvision Vamp is a blast from the past, Wendy James was every teenage boy's fantasy.
I remember this band and the song that sticks out for me is "I Want Your Love". I'd love you guys to react to another British band with an awesome female lead singer: Skunk Anansie (lead singer's name is Skin). My favorite songs of theirs include "I can Dream" and "Charlie Big Potato." ❣
My mate went to see transvision vamp at rock city, and swears she wasnt wearing any knickers on stage.... Good girl
I think it would be far more accurate to replace "swears" with "dreams"
She did a live performance on Going Live back in the day, in the interview afterwards with Sarah Green she mentioned she didn't usually wear knickers. Some sadsack wrote in to Points Of View to complain someone talked about not wearing underwear on a kids show th-cam.com/video/7Rd-w2-m2ro/w-d-xo.html
One of my favourite sounds back in the day oooh they are so British ! she was like so many girls at that time CO’s I was one of them 😊
Transvision vamp was so great, I wished that Wendy James and Billy Idol would have made a song together, it would have been a real banger, their music was very similar.
Keep the 80's coming! You should check out a new wave band named Missing Persons. Lead singer, Dale Bozzio, was a major influence on the likes of Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani, and Pink. Check out their 1982 hit, "Words." You can't go wrong with this incredible decade of music! 💯🔥🌟
"Mental Hopscotch"
Dale Bozzio is the 'original Lady Gaga'
YES YES YES Missing Persons was an amazing group!!!
She did some work with Frank Zappa, too.
"Destination Unknown"❤🎉
@@gdoggatl Walking in L.A is another great song as well!!!
Wow!!! Stoked to see you guys listen to a really cool lesser-known group! TV was totally badass, and Wendy James is still releasing killer albums to this day! Another female-led band that always deserved more attention was The Muffs, fronted by Kim Shattuck. She had the best scream next to Joan Jett!
This song uses one of the most classic chord progressions in rock ‘n’ roll. You could probably create a medley of 30 to 40 popular songs that use this progression.
Saw them live back in 1991 in a Soccer/Football Stadium as Opening Act for the Simple Minds with Billy Idol as Special Guest.. It was quite good.
The briliant Wendy James is about to release her 10th solo album. Please do more TVV - Landslide of Love, I Want Your Love, Tell That Girl to Shut Up, Sister Moon - all fantastic songs
Wendy James was THE poster girl of the 80's I'd forgotten how great this song is that scream she does and the guitar riff that kicks in has you hooked straight away one of the coolest intros to a song for sure. that. Wendy made the cover of Tatler magazine wearing only a viynl record covering her modesty and winking at the camera and it became a iconic photo instantly. But Transvision vamp were also so good as a live band. This is still such a great song. (matt) their debut album "Velveteen" is a fantastic album from start to finish
Finally Transvision Vamp 😃 I think you're one of the first reactors to do them you should check out their other big hit "I want your love"
I still follow Wendy James her music very different now but yeah she was big part of this band, P.S her natural mother was Norwegian.
Another fantastic female led band from the UK that I always think of when I hear or see Transvision Vamp are The Primitives, maybe just because they have been around at quite the same time. You really should check out their song "Crash", that was a huge hit and a great song.
The Riff is taken from Louis Louis written by Richard Berry in 1955. Made famous byThe Kingsmen in 1963
It sounds a little like Louis Louis but it also sounds like Wild Thing.
I think it's Wild Thing, too. And the melody of the verse is similar to The Bangles "Manic Monday"
Also the song Wild Thing
To be fair, they both have the same chord progression (A-D-Em-D). Also used in the songs "Hang On Sloopy", "Get Off My Cloud" by the Stones, and the bridge in "You've Lost That Loving Feeling", and many others, I'm sure.
Actually closer to Hang On Sloopy and Wild Thing. Louis Louis uses a minor chord for the the fifth (the third chord in the intro), A-D-Em-D. This song's sheet music shows a F5-B flat5-C5-B flat5. I've been playing guitar for over sixty years and they actually sound like major chords to me, F-B flat-C-B flat. It also looks like he's playing the major forms. Either way, he's definitely not playing a minor for the the third chord in the progression. Wild Thing and Hang on Sloopy both use the same I-IV-V-IV progression, Wild Thing is A-D-E-D and Hang on Sloopy is G-C-D-C. The I-IV-V-IV has been used in dozens of popular rock songs, La Bamba and Twist and Shout are a couple more.
Transvision Vanp ... Isn't that the big clue to what lyrically you're about to receive 😊
Another song of theirs to check out is "Tell That Girl To Shut Up".
Haven't heard this song in years but just noticed how much it sounds like Smells Like Teen Spirit which came out a couple of years after this 😸
Pair this with Bow Wow Wow - WILD in the Country for another female Friday
Also Weak by Skunk Anansie
Also Sisters by Annie Lennox & Aretha
Anni Lennox & Aretha Franklin, Sisters are doing it for themselves, brilliant song.
Especially Weak, Skin has the most amazing voice and stage presence ❤
In the late 80's in a local club I worked at the DJ would often play either "Baby I Don't Care" or "Crash" by The Primitives to get the people bouncing before shifting to slow sets for more intimate dancing. Worked well.
Fantastic band. They had many great songs. You should also check out: I want your love, revolution baby, landslide of love, the only one, born to be sold, if looks could kill.
Hi guys. I am a 74 year old man who discovered this first time hearing on TH-cam a few weeks ago. I've seen quite a bit in the last weeks. I started out listening to some Pink Floyd's Comfortably numb and Great gig about ten times each. I'm re listening like I never did before. I found you guys to be the most interesting because you are learning to enjoy at the same time. I love your reactions to the music I grew up with. I was a big Beatles and Stones fans from day 1. The 60s and 70s were my music. I enjoy the way J takes it in and you, Amber, the way you analyze and feel the music. As a hard core Lennon fan, I was a bit jealous that Yoko contacted you. I wrote her when John died. It was a very sad day in my life. I loved the Stones, Beatles, Animals, Who, Beach Boys and Pink Floyd as the top 6. There is one song I would love a reaction and haven't found anywhere. It's ''As the years go passing by'' by Eric Burdon and the Animals. There have been many versions but none like this one. Very psychedelic and a long blues. You will like it. looking forward to more oldies from you. Thank you for helping me rediscover how to listen to good music, some of which I had taken for granted. I am enjoying listening more thanks to you guys. Robert.
I got the Transvision Vamp ''Velveteen' album for my 10th bday back in 1989. I love this song😂
Saw these live in 1988 , loved Wendy James!
Oh man, Transvision Vamps wendy james ❤ what a blast from the past, menories of the 80's in senior school,
Really made up that you got around to this one. Have recommended it several times, as I thought you would like it! It is a perfect song to start the day with, as the energy is just so high, (Imagine this as your alarm call, that scream will get you out of bed). Their first two albums are full of great songs all very different. Had to laugh when J said no British accent though.
Lol...Amber that's exactly the vibes I was getting...I was a teenager in the 80s and I never heard of this band but loved it!!!
Really famous in England and also Europe mostly
This brings back my childhood, my dad had such a crush on the lead singer. ❤❤❤
The riff is the same one used in "Wild Thing", "More Than a Feeling", and "Smells Like Teen Spirit". One of the great Rock riffs!
Man! Their song "I want your love" came through on my play list just two days ago & I thought "Jay & Amber would love Wendy James & her voice".....and here you are listening to Transvision Vamp!
Every boy had a crush on Wendy back then. Definitely should do I Want Your Love
They were huge in the UK for a couple of years. Check out their version of Holly & The Italians 'Tell That Girl To Shut Up'.
Being a teenage boy in the late 80s...I must admit..I had a big crush on her
I get that,But the Music is Ewwwffff......
Same
Same
every teenage boys crush back in the day
Agree.
She was epic live as well....and so so hot ;) My flatmate was helping her back stage and she ate a full family block of chocolate to get the energy to get through her performance!
T-VAMP🥰🥰🤩🤩Oh to be 13 again in the 80s😁😁😁😁
When I heard that intro it made the hairs on the back of my neck go up. Great memories thanks for that. 😊👍.
That took me back to 80s disco's. Wow, thanks.
Still hoping you will revisit Divinyls. You did their most commercial, risque song 'I Touch Myself', but they are so much more than that.
Start with Boys in Town, Only Lonely, Elsie, Science Fiction, Sleeping Beauty, Guillotine Day.
Chrissie Amphlett is Australia's Queen of Rock (RIP) and has the most unique, instantly identifiable rock voice.
If you like female rockers, you won't be disappointed.
Please, please, please.
Finally, somebody reacts to them! I have been requesting this a million times.
I saw the thumbnail with Jay looking sceptical and thought,'What? I would've thought Jay would love that!'. I watched it and saw that he did love it! All is well with the world 😆 Great reaction!
Wendy James ! Every one of my friends and I spoke about Wendy James. So beautiful !
Love this band! So punk and subversive. Love the lead singer especially on song "I want your love" where shes like "sing nicely like a pop star? I don't think so! I'm gonna talk and shout and scream and just basically do whatever I like!"
Saw these live back in the late 80s/ early 90s was a brilliant concert. Wendy James came on stage wearing a inxs t-shirt lol.
This whole band was great, fun, spunky & energetic. I loved it all - incl. the lead singer's SASS.
As to her outfits, I would have loved to have worn some of those myself - except that I obviously couldn't find those great items & I wouldn't have had anywhere to wear them as an 80s teen. She wore them well though & I bet males were going crazy for her.
Landslide of love is an anthem
Wow, it's GREAT to see TVV getting some attention. Velveteen is one of the best albums that most people don't even know exists. While this song is an out and out banger, I'd suggest checking out "Falling for a Goldmine" from the same album. It's a much different sound, but still a GREAT song.
Oh wow I remember this group. When I first heard them they gave me a "Gogo" cross with "Joan Jett" feel. Thanks for the wake up this morning. Fun. Canadian Grandma Lori. C.
Wendy James is still making cracking solo albums
As a teenager during this time - she was a poster on many a boys wall
Do you have any idea how many guys only watched Transvision vamp and she don't care because of one reason and one reason only WENDY JAMES ❤.
Wendy James. Elvis Costello and his then wife sat down for some days and wrote a great bunch of songs for her. Became her first solo album. Best song, highly recommended, "Basement Kiss".
Ahh, Velveteen was the first album I ever bought. And yes, I got it cos I fancied Wendy James. Turns out, the songs were good too. Bonus.
Great album
Thank you, I almost forget this song and the singer. Oh my, I was very young and this beauty with that sexy voice and that energy was wow 🙂
Oooooh I love this! I’ve always loved it. I have never believed anyone more than Wendy when she declares that she doesn’t care🤩I can listent to/watch this for a whole day straight.
I can't believe this song is 35 years old 😳
trying not to think about that!
She was many a teenage fantasy!!!!!
thanks for this. I thought about recommending Transvision Vamp ( I want your love), but great to see someone else did. One of the best Pop-punk bands.
🇬🇧 "I Want Your Love" next please, their first "hit"
OMG, I can't believe someone suggested them, I wanted to ! Love them. You could also check out Landslide of Love , Tell that girl to shut up, Sister Moon, If looks could kill, I want your love. I really really am surprised
Such an energetic and vibrant performance!
I think it has a bit of "Wild Thing' in it as well.
Transvision Vamp - I Want Your Love and The Only One.
Saw her in Melbourne brilliant concert fantastic band...❤❤❤❤
I'm an 80's kid and thought I new most artists and songs from back then but came across this one about a year ago and I was surprised it wasn't more popular then. Great song and great reaction you 2🙂
I Was An 80's Teen And I Didn't Know About This Group Until Dec Of Last Year. I Fell In Love With This Group The First Time I Heard Them.
Yes Transvison Vamp fantastic, great voice Jay the rift reminds of a song called Wild Thing(you make my heart sing)😊❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
As a teenage boy in the late 80s, I had a poster of Transvision Vamp on my bedroom wall. Wendy James was hot, and their music rocked!
There is some video footage of Kirt Cobain wearing a Transvision Vamp t-shirt
LOL, I grew up hearing this! Glad to see you guys rock out to it.
I have been hangin' for this group, they were very popular in the late 80's.
What I love about this channel is the introduction to new music!!
new/old music ;)
