This is a walk-around of the restored 1987 Panasonic Mountain Cat 3500 that I found for free at the dump back in the fall of 2022. Obviously had been indoor kept. It had a missing front hub spacer, and an incorrectly sized modern cartridge bottom bracket that was allowing the small chainring to cut into the drive side chain stay. I added a spacer and installed the correct BB with a 127.5mm spindle width.
This is not a perfect restoration, but a thorough refresh and update. Everything has been gone through. Hubs, and headset have been rebuilt with Phil Wood grease. It had a good KMC Z chain that I cleaned and reinstalled with a new quick link. I wanted to keep the yellow cable housings, so I installed new stainless Jagwire cables inside them. Brake pads have been replaced with new Kool Stop black pads in the Deer Head-style holders. Cable ends are terminated with Forager Cycles incredible Cable Cherries.
