I felt the final episode the kids had agency and it stuck the landing. I suspect every minute cost a lot of money: from limited time kids can be on set, to CGI, to practical effects. Adults liked to post all these theories and speculations of how the wider Star Wars galaxy could come into play, but it was really: instead of WYSIWYG, it's what you _heard_ is what you got.
