Nice to hear employees speak so highly of a company they work for. Hope it is rebuilt. If these chips were available in my area I would be eating them for nostalgia about the covered bridge. My sympathy to the New Brunswickers out of work.
It hurts my heart to see such a successful Canadian business lost like this. I'm hoping they have insurance and cann rebuild. Want to find out more about this in the next few days.

What are you talking about? Cover bridge makes up a very small fraction of potato chips Canadians eat and without and potato chips at all there would still be plenty of food to eat.
I find it very difficult to believe that the first firefighters would have been able to spend 10 to 15 minutes inside the company for an offensive attack. When they arrived at the factory the fire must have already been very violent and must have spread everywhere. The main thing is that all the employees present were able to come out safe and sound.
Wonder if it was the same folks who went around burning down churches...? Or maybe it was climate change. . Hopefully this factory will be rebuilt and come back bigger and better than ever.
Many, many years ago I worked at the Hostess Potato Chip Factory in Cambridge, On. I am surprised this doesn’t happen more often. When I worked at Hostess as a teenager one of the jobs I did was skim the burnt chips out of an open vat of bubbling grease. The vat must have been 10 feet in diameter. It was an awful job. I am so glad no one was hurt in this fire.
@@knessing7681 Nope just the ceiling as I recall. I worked there a very short period of time. Lots of my friends worked there but I had lived through a cottage fire and never, ever wanted to experience another. There was never a fire there that I am aware of. It was a long, long time ago. Way back in my ‘salad days’ in the 70’s.
Where was the fire arrest system above all the fryer areas? Fast food places, at least updated ones, have systems in place. I guess it could’ve been a spill that caught on fire, and spread past the reach of the system, but would be interesting to know for sure.
I wonder how big the fryer was that caught on fire .... could had covered it with a (huge) metal sheet /tray to snuff out the oxygen (I did that for a triple fryer when the oil caught on fire at a kitchen) or popped the dome back on if it's one of those industrial dome fryers.
What do you mean? Covered bridge hardly makes up any of the potato chips Canadians eat and without potato chips at all we would still have lots of food.

@@leek988 Excellent comparison, yes!

did your vat had a crank or electronic raising cover/dome ? I saw one of those, it was designed to snuff out fire if ever the oil catches on fire.
