Having heard Liebestraum so many times with an orchestra and piano, I didn't quite know what to expect. I kind of thought I might be a little disappointed. I wasn't. This was beautiful.
Cannot stop listening to this very touching performance. Somehow this combination of Cello and piano makes this music the sound of longing for love and being loved, Beautiful piece and beautiful performance.

Dad played the violin (but only simple tunes) and the musical saw - and sang Mom played the piano and the clarinet - and sang I played the violin - and sang Ruth played the violin and the piano - and sang Ed played the cello - and sang Deloris played the violin, the piano and the flute - and sang.

I had the sheet music for a transcription of 'Liebestraum', and I used to badger every pianist who came into the house into accompanying me in the piece.... Well, nostalgic reminiscences aside, the Toivios play it BEAUTIFULLY!... (P..S. Someone out there has just asked me whether I still have the sheet music. Heavens, no! That was a long time ago.)
Still hope about one day, when I modulate this melody and someone just say "Oh, liebestraum". I guess I will live with this man for the rest of my life.

I knew he was an incredible composer when I was a kid in the 1950's. I went every Saturday to see a serialized version of the Flash Gordon movie made in the late 30's. The background music was from Liszt's "Les Preludes".

And I bet most of them do it just in case T.T In the last concert I've been to, something extraordinary happened: there wasn't a cough to be heard during the entire performance!! :D

If we want people to go out and enjoy classical music we all have to lighten up and accept that humans makes sounds
