This was a very good result for us considering it came less than 24 hours after that memorable First Division title decider at Anfield (Postponed deep into May by the Hillsborough tragedy) and players of the calibre of John Barnes, Peter Beardsley, Steve McMahon, Tony Adams, Alan Smith, David Rocastle, Lee Dixon and Paul Merson were all unavailable for selection. Steve Bull had enjoyed a cracking season as Wolves won the Third Division, though, and was thrilled to see him stick one in the back of the net against the Auld Enemy.

Was there, my only Scotland/England match, so far.. Unfortunately, the England fans decided to beat the crap out of each other in the away end at HT. Scotland fans revelled in that by singing "whaaat the f***ing hell is that?!"
Regrettably, the highlight of the match for us.

Shiltons original shirt colour clashed with the Scotland kit - England did not have any other goalkeeper shirt available so he had to wear a Scotland top . I attended this game - three things I remember were the heat , England fans fighting amongst themselves at HT and Steve Bulls strike

Jimmy Hill loved the big games... especially at Wembley... he would have loved the L1 PO final yesterday... last kick of the game!
