I been looking all over TH-cam and google for 2 weeks now trying to find where this turbo sits and here yall are posting this yesterday, thank yall so much! This is very helpful
I used this video to replace my turbo that had the same wastegate issue. I removed the wiper shroud but not the wipers themselves. From there, I moved the coolant expansion tank and loosened the upper motor mount to push the motor forward. I drained the oil but didn't drain the coolant. Removed all lines and pulled the turbo from the top with plenty of clearance.
For those reading this, use all new gaskets. Add your coolant and oil before pushing the motor back in place so you can see if any fluids are leaking. I had to do it twice because the coolant feed wasn't tight and I ended up taking a bath in it lol If everything goes right the first time, this will take 3-5 hours.
Informative, especially mentioning the wastegate issue. Looking forward to replacing my OEM with the PowerMax to keep that OEM+ feel. I'll be coming back to this when I do the install, thank you!
How long did it take to remove and install?
I am looking at doing the power max turbo this weekend. Very good video. Only question is when do you drain and add coolant in?
Drain first, make sure the engine is cold before working on it, and add last. Don’t forget to bleed the coolant system.
