    Nothing gets a Narcissist more excited than controlling people. Getting them to do things they don’t want to, excites them the most.

    00:43 🤯 Excuses and blame often stem from ego protection, avoiding the admission of personal failure.
    01:58 🍩 Blaming inanimate objects for personal shortcomings is comical and counterproductive.
    03:41 🗣 Blaming others is a lie; you can't control people's actions or decisions.
    05:00 🧠 "Free your mind" means opening your mind to new ideas and perspectives.
    06:11 🤔 Changing your life involves making small decisions, taking control, and focusing on personal improvement.
    10:31 🛠 The analogy of prisoners making a rock hammer to escape emphasizes the power of small, consistent actions over time.
    11:09 📅 Daily action, self-control, and strategic vision are essential for discipline and personal growth.

    I have narcolepsy so when I say I can't get out of bed...it's a physical truth...but then I learned to wiggle...I wiggle to the edge of my bed and fall off of it. If I fall asleep on the floor okay but at least I finished the job of getting out of bed. I refuse to be narcolepsy 's bitch!

    Easily the most common one I hear, and the one where people will die on this Hill; I’m 33 BMI, but I’m not obese, because bmi doesn’t apply to me, because I’ve got these special things, called ‘muscles’”.

    • @thomasenderson893
      @thomasenderson893 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      BMI was not developed as a measure of healthy weight and it cannot be used for that task. BMI was developed for the purposes of rationing and to the extent that it has any use, that is it. Ask youself: how can a measure be used to determine healthy weight when it cannot distinguish between sources of weight? If you want a good measure, bro, you want to track BF% and water retention.

    • @MrDanielvass
      @MrDanielvass 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@thomasenderson893 what you’ve said isn’t completely invalid, but I always counter the argument that “bmi isn’t useful” by pointing out that if you get your body fat down and get your waist to 32” or less, 99% of people will fall within the “healthy” bmi range. It’s the guys with 44” waists saying “bmi is bs because I’ve got muscles” that I tire of.

    • @thomasenderson893
      @thomasenderson893 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MrDanielvass Sure. You're not healthy just because you can jack heavy weight. Too much fat is too much fat regardless of how many plates you're stacking. Conversely, you can have a "healthy" BMI and still be an incredibly unhealthy person. That's my bone of contention with Body Mass Index. It is misapplied and misunderstood as a health tool when it isn't and never was intended to be. Especially in an age where you can easily track BF% and other granular details, we don't need it. All that to say, we're pretty much on the same page. You gotta keep things in balance and not make excuses for being out of whack in A because you're ahead of the curve in B.
      Keep getting after it!

    Hey now, in all fairness, I set a series of alarms to make sure that I don’t oversleep and shirk my responsibilities, and over the past two months I have noticed that my phone has indeed been deactivating my alarms for some unknown reason on occasion. I would set the alarms, look at the alarms, verify that I had the correct time of day (a.m. or p.m.), and then I would do the exact same thing on my tablet and verify both were set identically.
    Next morning my tablet is going off and rouses me from my bunk in the truck. I look to the phone and it has turned off my first alarm. Five minutes later I check again, and the second alarm has turned off.
    So, that shit really happens. Sometimes it’s a valid explanation.
    Carry-on.

    • @timangar9771
      @timangar9771 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah sure it happens, but I think the point is to say "I should have been prepared for that", in a way that moves the responsibility to something that you can control.

    • @fredmalito9869
      @fredmalito9869 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh I certainly understand that, I just felt like lightning the mood a bit.
      I’ll tell you though, after two decades in my field and never being late for any reason that could be attributed to anything other than mechanical failure or inclement weather, it was very disheartening to suddenly think that I was aging to the point that I couldn’t remember to set an alarm in the morning. I was feeling pretty bad about it until I caught it in the act.

    I’m going to be honest, when you always expect others to do what YOU do… you’re going to get a ton of the blame and responsibility involved with that person. Just because YOU never chill out and relax from time to time doesn’t mean others shouldn’t. If everybody ran around trying to conquer and control everything, you’d have chaos. So relax… tired of hearing about all this ‘you should be this way and that way’. How about let people just be present sometimes…
