Amazing tour, Kavalan is definitely my favorite distillery these days, so awesome to see what they do and how it’s different from others. Pro-tip: get a body mic or directional mic instead of using your cameras mic. Otherwise your content is AWESOME

Nice tour. I went to Yilan a few month ago and it was a great experience with even greater Whisky. Thanks a lot for your video!
As a suggestion I would recommend to either record the VO seperate or on the spot via mic and without adding music. 4:50 - for example is rather hard to listening to with the echo and music on top.

yeah I no longer ad music and when this was filmed I had no mic! just a camera mic. but thanks for watching!!
      great tour, great distillery!
      which Kavalan was your fav?

@@eatsmokedrink oh, tough question. I think the 'Vinho Barrique' is my favourite if I had to choose one. I was so impressed when I first tried it a while back. But honestly, everything with higher proof/Solist range is a very solid pick.
Did you try 'Omar Whisky' from 'Nantou' while being in Taiwan? They got a few very serious pours as well. Their "Black Queen Wine Finish" at cast strength is fantastic. I highly recommend.

      @@simcoe- No not while there.
I had a warehouse tour here as a client is the distributor of kavalan in nz.
      Was pretty cool.
      DIdn't try nantou there.
      Manzanilla was my fav

Really keen to know if the prices for bottlings are better from the distillery or shops in Taiwan vs back here in NZ?

    • @eatsmokedrink
      @eatsmokedrink  2 ปีที่แล้ว

They seemed similar to nz, not that much cheaper, the entry level bottles were defeinitely cheaper but the top ones very similar.

Amazing video bro! thanks..I live in Tainan, and I am eagerly planning to visit the Kavalan distillery but unfortunately due to pandemic, the distillery tour is stopped for now but hopefully it will open soon. I have few questions if you can answer:
    1) Are kids allowed to visit the distillery (I want to take my kids along with me..if possible) ?
    2) How much distillery tour costs ?
    3) DIY blending and 8 different whiskies sampling: How much it costed you ?
    4) can we buy those Kavalan printed nosing glasses ?
Looking forward to your valuable reply, thanks in advance.

      hey man,
thanks for watching and the support!
Yes, i saw kids at the tour
Cost unsure as my client is the distributor of Kavalan in NZ so i got in as a favour to the warehouses too but I did pay for the DIY blending but that was cheap, From memory was like $25 bux pp usd or something, or less even. not expensie.
And yes you can get those glasses I saw for sale.
I recommend not to do the blending, it is novelty but just novelty, I would suggest doing the 'tasting flights' which is super good value.
      but yeah, fun either way!
