A seductive, animal-themed villainess in a fanservice outfit wants Batman to chase her? Do we not already have Catwoman for that?
At the time she wasn't a villianess anymore instead she played some anti hero role and had sex with Batman on roofs. New 52 Catwoman book not great either.

I swear at this point. I'm expecting them to turn the White Rabbit into a love interest and partner in crime for the Mad Hatter. Making them what Joker and Harley were. While leaving out the part where the two end up in an abusive relationship. Heck maybe Mr. Hatter could laugh at the idea. By taking a direct potshot at the Fifty Shades trilogy. Have him say something like oh I don't know "What do you think my real first name is. Christian"

You would think that White Rabbit would be a Harley to Mad Hatter's Joker. It wouldn't even be that hard to make a story.
Mad Hatter mind controls a bunch of randos and puts them in Wonderland costumes, discovers the girl in the White Rabbit outfit has powers of her own to multiply or freeze time (making her harder to catch) and she eventually breaks free of his control but ends up with a split personality.
If the had the "makes copies of herself" her ability they could even have her true self help Batman and try to catch the White Rabbit while Batman fights Hatter's goons in the climax, and eventually catching her bad self gives her full control of her power and makes her a hero. It could serve as an introduction to a new Enchantress type character, one that fights on the side of the good guys but has a darker side that literally comes out some times.

Hatter's always been underrated. He's got a great premise and backstory, and what does he get? little to nothing.

I don't watch every At4W sobI thought it was a bit he invented. In fact I'm only here because I just found out it happened.
Y'know when hearing the name "One-Face", I was _expecting_ Harvey's face to be completely scarred over, with absolutely no sign of his original personality left.
...this was _so_ much worse.
I've been watching episodes out of order and bouncing around and until now I just assumed the "One Face" running gag was a reference to a silly joke Linkara made and not a real thing that happened in a real comic book.
Arkham Asylum rioting with beefed up criminals, a beefed up Joker, a reveal that Joker was actually Clayface...

Also, why would Clayface need the serum? I understand with the other villains since they don't have any superpowers to begin with. But Clayface doesn't need a power boost, he's Clayface! He's already a hulking monster to begin with!

I know, right? When you read about the abilities he already has without the serum, he sounds like he's already powerful enough to be a Superman villain if he lived in Metropolis.

I actually found out about this when working at a middle school. A parent dropped it off for her son's presentation or some such; after flipping through it before the kid picked it up, I handed it to him and told him "there's much better Batman out there" This is what the kids are reading these days.

Ok... you can't make an "Alice in Wonderland" themed villain and not link them to the Mad Hatter. Also: This was probably the dumbest premise for a story ever imagined. I mean.. what could the endgame of WR possibly be? All she does is slightly buff a villain for a little while and leave. Scarecrow at least took notes when he released fear gas.
You want a motivation? The writers wanted some T&A and didn't really think this through. Though maybe she can control them afterwards through addiction like Ragtag from Static Shock or that one mutant from the 90's x-men cartoon (I had to look the first one up and I couldn't find the second for the life of me but he could boost or take away mutant powers temporarily). But that's mostly conjecture on my part.
Edit: Fabian Cortez in "Sanctuary Part 1" from the 90's X-Men. Man that was a pain in the butt to find.
You want a White Rabbit-based villain? Then how about a sad sap that was so concerned with being on time that she took it upon herself to slow down the time stream just enough to complete her tasks and please her queen for completing said task given to her, all the while dressing like said character to conceal her identity.
Sounds like the Clock King. Not that I don't like it mind you...

White Rabbit is clearly a blatant ripoff of Marvel's Black Cat, who in turn is ironically a ripoff of DC's Catwoman.

After Two-Face becomes doused in even more acid, he goes from One-Face to No Face. And then he inexplicably goes to Japan and becomes friends with a little girl in the Spirit World.
I remember the 75th anniversary, where Bruce Wanye Batman was in SEVEN books as a main or supporting character. All Batman was missing back then was the adamantium claws.

@@justinnelson5960 Well, there was that one time Superman shot rainbows from his fingers that was actually a smaller version of himself...the Silver Age was WEIRD! Also, the Ten Eyed Man just sees through his fingers so that's pretty lame.
I hate what the venom drug has become over the years. Back when Bane kicked his addiction to it immediately after Knightfall, the drug's effects on users weren't nearly as overthetop as they're so often depicted nowadays, and an un-venomed Bane and Batman were both able to take on a whole gang of venom-using thugs without breaking a sweat. Bane was already a mountain of muscle and fighting skill, and he didn't actually need the (very minor) upgrade in strength to beat Batman originally. LITERALLY the only purpose venom served was for Bane's addiction to be an achilles heal to exploit at the conclusion and cause him to go into a withdrawal freakout. That was a weakness that he saw in himself afterwards and purged... until more and more artists and writers over time just kind of forgot about that character development, and eventually him using venom just became the norm again without an in-universe explanation and Gail Simone finally had to address it in Secret Six and give him a whole new different motivation to quit the drug.
And as a result of all of that, we had adaptations of Bane and venom in other media that went bananas with the degree to which it enhances users (I suppose hearing the phrase "strength enhancing drug," the natural instinct might be to assume it has effects that are more extreme than venom's original depiction), creating the impression over the years for a much wider audience that it has a Hulk effect, which in turn bled right back into the comics where we would then get stories like this and Bane's wonderful appearance in the upcoming issues. :/
Writers can give out some BS and say the formula has been upgraded as much as they want; when venom starts being depicted as a drug that turns people from Bruce Banner into the grotesquely muscled Hulk towering over opponents at superhuman size, it's something entirely different. But I guess for a lot of readers and fans, that's simply what venom is now, regardless of how it started out..
Spikex1 Say what you want about The Dark Knight Rises, at least that movie made Bane a competent threat on his own without mentioning venom once. I appreciated that about that film.

At least in the Arkham games they make a version that is based on the venom formula and call it "Titan." But I definitely understand what you mean by writers forgetting the point behind venom and how Bane was to eventually drop it and not pick it up again.

Honestly, makes TOO much sense.
As a fan of Damian Wayne along with the fact that he is my favorite Robin, that little portrayal of him in this story really angers me. As Linkara pointed out, Damian is very boastful, brash, and arrogant, so much so that he makes his own father who is also pretty brash and arrogant look calm and collected in comparison. Damian would never have that look of fear in his eyes and suggest that they should get help, he is so confident in his skills that he believes that he could take them all on by himself. While most of the time Damian can back up his arrogance because he is really that talented of a fighter, he usually gets into trouble because he believes he can do everything on his own and asking for help would be seen as a weakness. While Damian has indeed calmed down a lot when it comes to his arrogance, it is still there and it will probably never fully go away.

a joke between goons in Batman arkham city is that cat woman clawed off the pretty half of his face and is calling himself one face. The sad part is that the joke is less stupid than the comic as two face would have a fully scared face making him one face.

The sad thing is, I feel like this storyline had potential. Call me crazy, but I like the idea of a villain who can create a duplicate of herself with different features is pretty cool and COULD have been a nifty trick to keep her identity a secret. Additionally, the idea that she's an adrenaline junky with a fetish for being chased is pretty unique character motivation. It's kind a rip-off of Catwoman, but without the anti-heroism Selina's developed (or had developed) over the years. I could've dug it.

White Rabbit however sounds similar to Roxy Rocket (another character introduced in Btas) as she was an adrenaline junkie who got off on death defying stunts (and I mean got off on it as there was one scene of her essentially having an orgasm as she engages in a suicidal stunt)!

You have a White Rabbit villain...and you don't pair them up with Mad Hatter? It would've been so easy to make her Mad Hatter's version of Harley Quinn or something, but no, the author couldn't put two and two together in his own writing.
...Come to think of it, why haven't they done a "Batman in Wonderland" story? Think about it! They've got basically all the villains for it: The Mad Hatter, The White Rabbit Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dum, and Cheshire (Yeah, I know, Green Arrow character, but she was still inspired by the Cheshire Cat (At least in Young Justice), so she counts). All we need is Scarecrow's Fear Toxin, and the rest practically writes itself.

Unpopular opinion, I really adore Damian, and all his snarky, over confident, "I will be the next Alexander the Great"ness, and honestly as head tilting as it is to see Dami ask for help, I'm just happy to see him at all. I miss Grant Morrisons run on the book with Dami and Dick being the dynamic duo, it was awesome

Honestly couldn't care less about how badly written Damian is because he is one of those characters I wish was dropped with a reboot.
He is made to be a mini-Batman that is some how already close to if not on par with the other older Robins and villains that could match his father, is unlikable in every aspect of his character and not in the "He is so bad its fun" kinda way yet people in universe seem to like him for no reason and the fact that they call him the "Son of Batman" pisses me off because it implies NONE of Bruces adopted sons were really his 'sons'.
Damian is a Robin I could see fitting in with Frank Millers Batman with zero change to his character because he is already a huge smug ass hole that is played up to be better and more important then everyone else.

Okay, so well it might be a stretch but the white rabbit motif combined with the notion of the chase is really calling up Alice in wonderland, so could the idea be that the white rabbit leads people to a world without fear, but also without reason. Or am I trying too hard to find a justification for what is clearly a playboy bunny being cast as a villain?

Yes. Cleary the fear removing properties is clearly the most dangerous aspect of the drug. Not the 'side-effect' of turning people into Hulks...
Fear can also appear as a clown and trap you inside of stasis tubes, only for Captain Janeway to come in and beat it.

This is probably one of the dumber Batman stories we've seen on this show in a long time. White Rabbit not being linked to Mad Hatter, One-face, dialogue about past events we were never told about and plot points that go no where. Hopefully you come back to this in the future!!!

The Batman over-saturation continues in the new films, given several upcoming movies are about him or characters close to him.

I love Batman but DAG-NAB-IT!!! he's not the only guy D.C. has, Lord knows how many characters (hero or villain,) that could hold thier own and be great in thier own right if they were just given a little push.

I always said, one thing Marvel does better than DC is that they are able to get heroes on somewhat equal popularity these days. Now yes there was a time Wolverine was in every team and had a solo series and was in every X-Men book but even that turned down and Linkara mentioned like 4 Spider-Man

I think one of the reasons why I started to prefer manga over comic books is because of the latter's lack of continuity. Dragonball aside, choices have consequences in non-comedic manga, and storylines are often set up over many years which makes the pay off all the more sweeter when you realise all of the delicate pieces that the author had put in place for you to find. With comic books on the other hand most storylines are usually done and dusted in six issues or less, actions are forgotten in short order except for some particularly rare occasions, and characters almost never stay dead which means that it is impossible to build any emotional connection to snuffed characters because you know that give it a few years and they'll be back.
That is not to say that I don't love comics because I do. In fact just ten minutes ago I finished re-reading ''Hush'' for the tenth time. I just think that manga is the only product of the two that is worth the increasingly extortionate asking price.
The retirement line regarding Joker was referencing the events of Detective Comics #1 (though in a rather clumsy way). Joker had his face cut off and disappeared untill his return in Scott Snyder's Death of the Family (which I love, personally). Batman knew Joker had purposefully gotten Dollmaker to cut his face before disappearing and knew Joker had chosen to disappear, so he'd be surprised to see him around so soon.
This was legitimately the first book of The New 52 I ever bought. That was years ago and I still want my money back.

So like...ya'll get this White Rabbit charatcer is a drug reference right? Ever here "chasing the dragon"? "chasing the white rabbit" is another take on that phrase.
So this character? It's just a reference to that, The White Rabbit injecting people with mind altering drugs and telling Batman to chase her.
(I mention it because I didn't see anyone mentioning. Though the complaint about not having her connected to Mad Hatter is fiar, since she makes refereces to Alice in Wonderland.)

Well, Lewis, the entire logistics thing -- you forget that every time Batman lost Gordon's support, it took less than a day for Batman to get wrecked by Gotham PD.
you really got to question how incompetent the GCPD really are if they can take down Batman, but they're also completely useless against even Gotham's weakest Z-Listers.

Jeffrey Combs as Scarecrow is sheer weapons-grade nightmare fuel. His design is terrifying. He looks like an Old West preacher who's returned as an undead.
And that voice! Combs dials the calm but menacing up to eleven. It is really creepy.
Ugh what the new 52 did to Freeze...was just horrible. It seams like both Marvel and DC have done stupid things recently.

Yyyyeah, as much as I love Batman and see Rebirth as an improvement over the New 52, there's a similar issue going on: Over-saturation of Batman. He has his own solo book, Detective Comics, All-Star Batman, is in Justice League, JLA, and Trinity, frequently cameos in books starring other Gotham-related characters, and is a recurring character in the Superman solo because of his team-ups with Supes and Superboy's team-up with Robin.
