    Nice video, thank you. I have an oil change to do tomorrow on this mower. I figured it'd go this way once I noticed the hose attached to the base of the engine and guessed what it was for. Not a bad set up and certainly better than what I've seen on other mowers.

      Thank you for watching and your comment! I'd recommend going with what the oil type that the owners manual calls for but I just chose to use something different due to the usage with the mower and a the climate I live in. I'm no professional but this is a simple job and thank you once again! If you haven't already please consider subscribing......soon I will be uploading a video on how to remove and clean the carburetor.

      @@ATrainETV You are welcome. I don't have the owner's manual but I suspect there is a sticker somewhere that may tell what to use. I suspect SAE 30 is recommended but I'll look into it further before going through with the oil change. I could go over to the local mower shop and ask as well (useless to call, their lines are always tied up).
      I've decided to start doing a mower maintenance service so I hope to be doing a lot of these oil changes. I MIGHT start a channel on the subject....maybe.

    I got this mower specifically to be able to drive it through a 36 inch door th-cam.com/users/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend or gate It is a little tight with the grass deflector installed but has more clearance with the deflector replaced by the recycler/mulcher. This model appears to be popular and a little harder to find for that reason. I can't judge the dependability as I have only mowed the yard twice but everything else on the mower is very nice and working fine so far. I added options for the run hour timer, arm backrests, recycler/mulcher, towing bracket, deck lift assist and cover.

    I’d like to suggest in future videos that you include that the spark plug needs to be disconnected. Not necessarily removed, but disconnected to ensure there is no accidental start of the engine while you’re doing this.

    My timecutter's drain is on the opposite side of the filter and has a threaded plug in it. You may need some tools if your mower is the same.

I work at golf car dealer ship all gold cars manufactures say 10w30 we run 15w40 10w30 will break down and does for a will burn off . If you live in the cold your gonna use a 5w30

      Changing the oil on this cutter is actually pretty easy and dosnt require much of anything. I have received tons of comments about the type of oil I used and weight, as far as that goes I'd say just stick with what the owner Manuel says. Overall this process is very easy. Old oil comes out and new oil goes in. Check levels......and your good

    I have a question. I recently changed the oil on my Toro timecutter and broke the attachment at the top of the oil drain tube as i was removing it. What do I do now? Does oil actually flow through this drain tube or is the drain tube only for draining oil?

    • @ATrainETV
      @ATrainETV  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's just for draining the oil, however it does have a suction to it when the motor is running so if you broke the plastic part off you'll either A: need to buy a new housing seeing how it's made, or B: you could make you own plug for the tube, and keep the tube in the same upward position, just as long as it fits in snug, you don't wan any oil loss. Hope this helps

    Why 20W-50? The manual says 5W-20, 5W-30, or 10W-30 synthetic. Did you read the manual?

    • @ATrainETV
      @ATrainETV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I read the manual. I also talked to a lawn crew that cuts large acreage and they told me that's what they run in theirs and they have same kind of zero turns. Something about engine heat with mowing for long periods of time and temperature. So I went with their recommendations. Cause it's mostly used to mow large acreage. It's been operating perfectly. Do you recommend something different? Maybe I'll switch back to what the manual calls for depending on which month of year it is in texas.

    • @NorthlanderMN
      @NorthlanderMN 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d go by what the manual says. A synthetic Is always gonna be better than a mineral oil. 5W-30 or 10W-30. The lawn crew is probably going what someone thinks perhaps for a thicker film is my guess to their logic. They’re not engineers and didn’t design the engine. The engine is already built with very good tolerances if a 5W-20 is recommended too. Perhaps you trade yours in every few years. I keep my stuff for the long haul. I’d use what the manual says and use a synthetic. Forget about what some lawn crew says.

    • @ATrainETV
      @ATrainETV  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      4 cycle oil is what you would wanna use in most gas powered engines such as a lawn mower. 10w30 is a very common grade of oil. Another words the engine uses the oil and oil only to lubricate the moving parts, as where 2 stroke engines are mixed with a certain oil and gas together.

    • @ATrainETV
      @ATrainETV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the tube is pushed into a little plastic fitting pretty snug. Mine was the same way, just fyi make sure you put it back cause the engine creates like a vacuum through that tube, and to run properly it has to be pushed back onto that plastic fitting. If you break the fitting you'll have to craft a plug to cap the end of that tube. You might not run into this problem until the parts wear down

    • @ATrainETV
      @ATrainETV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, that kind of depends on how long you've had it. If it's brand new doing that, I'd return. If it's months old up to a year, it could be dirt in the carburetor. Maybe you need a new inline fuel filter? Have you replaced that before? Possibly could be the throttle cable has gotten worn and has stretched Possibly about to break, or maybe under the housing, it has kinda started coming loose from vibration. I have not had this same issue yet, and it's been over a year. I have cute several acreas of grass with it. Make sure you always start it on choke and turn off the engine while on full throttle. You may need to have a carburetor serviced. Thank you for your comment, and if you haven't already, PLEASE SUBSCRIBE.
