There's no particular order. I explained this to another person in the comments, just make sure the stats are right for each slot and you have a total of 4 Polar Metal pieces + 2 Woodpecker Electro pieces in the total 6 slots available.

Wondering if placement of the different disk drives matter? Like during the end or/ beginning of the disk drive segment you had puff electro in slots 1 n 3 while having polar in slot 2, 4, 5 and 6 respectively, does this do something or does it not matter where i put my discs as long as their stats are what i need?
You can run Corin if you want, but she's not exactly synergistic with Ellen even though they are both from Victoria Housekeeping. This is because both are characters that want to have field time while the enemy is stunned, but stun windows are short.
Nothing wrong with that. You lose a little bit of daze buildup that you get from a character like Lycaon, but both Rina and Soukaka provide offensive buffs to Ellen
Under the training tab in your proxy handbook, there's a portion called "routine cleanup" where the stages for farming disk drives will be. You won't unlock this until you progress quite a bit through the story and increase your inter-knot level.

damn i shouldve really tried to get her W rank engine. im running on starlight and it's pretty weak compared to her engine :'(

If I’m using Ellen, Rina, Soukaku should I use Sharkboo or butler?
I usually like to use Butler if you have two Victoria Housekeeping characters (Ellen + Lycaon/Rina).

It doesn't matter. Just make sure the stats are right for each slot and you have a 4-set effect and a 2-set effect.

How much DPS % difference between the 5 star weapon and the BP weapon ? Does anyone know ?
About 20% when comparing R1 Deep Sea Visitor (signature) vs R5 Cannon Rotor (BP). Her signature is pretty good.
