Ah Nilou my queen, I pulled her when she came out and she has been a staple for me ever since then. My favorite thing to do is actually testing whacky Nilou comps that not many others use (and don't need to be meta or anything, it's just for fun) which includes putting Childe in the Nilou team OR another meme favorite of mine is using Mona. When you have Nilou's water ring and then use Mona's special dash it looks like an angry puddle attacking the enemy. I recommend it for the fun factor alone. Now that I have Sigewinne my next project will be building her up and putting her with Nilou, Nahida and Yaoyao for a team that I call "Nilou's daycare" 😊

I love building Nilou for both bloom and then going against her kit and building her as a main DPS for vape teams lol. She does great damaged even if “that’s not her role”. Love to beat all the bosses with her lol.
@@ZeFrenchRatones for vape teams I usually have two piece heart of depth and two piece tenacity of the millelith. HP, Hydro dmg, crit dmg. I give her jade cutter as weapon. Thinking 2 piece golden troupe might be better than HoD but haven’t farmed good pieces for her. For team I put her with Xiangling, Bennett, and Kazuha.

Nilou is the only character that makes me realize how much I miss Sumeru and love it in general. She's so nostalgic to me. Thankfully I got her and 3 copies of her weapon in just 25k primos. I really want to buy her skin but I have no money. Maybe someday 💙

Anyone saying nilou is mid is just kinda dumb respectfully,nilou is an amazing unit and has so much value if you're a f2p player,her only issue is massive reliance on nahida but nahida is arguebly the best unit in the game,you'll wanna pull her regardless. She has such a high floor of damage and MASSIVE AOE which really helps if you dont have nuevillette or kazuha If your nilou preforms badly its your own knowledge issue for not knowing how to play her,she's not that hard either
Especially with the "niche reaction enablers" like Chevreusse (not as good as Nilou, but overload is a better reaction than bloom from the start), Navia (I'd argue as good as Nilou) & now Emilie who early impressions indicate will be quite good
@@DINGOlord imo none of these characters can be compared to nilou. nilou buffs a reaction meaning u just need to build em on your bloom trigger and stack hp on nilou while chevy, navia and emilie give a buff to themselfs/a party member if a correct elemental reaction is triggered. the former dont enable reactions, just further buff characters with good numbers.
@@dot2604 as the video already mentioned, bloom ownership in Nilou's team is pretty hard to pinpoint on one character due to the nature of the reaction itself (unless you use the specific team comp with only 1 dendro or 1 hydro), so you cannot just "build EM on your bloom trigger", you'll have to build EM on your bloom triggerS, meaning your whole team. People comparing Nilou with Chevreuse or Navia or Emilie is due to the fact they utilize reaction that is not inherently strong. The difference is just that for Nilou's team, only EM and HP is needed, which could be seen as easier to invest in than crit values for the other niche reaction teams. But in the end, every team needs characters with good numbers to truly shine. And just a piece of my personal thought here, Chevreuse can definitely be compared to Nilou. She utilizes a pretty trashy reaction for an immense buff for pyro/electro dps that suffers from the ICD (Yoimiya, Arlecchino and Raiden come to mind) It's refreshing to see new variants around "standard" dps, instead of just slaves to the Vaporize and Aggravate teams. I know Arlec or Raiden doesn't need Chevreuse to be broken af, but a buff is still a buff, especially if it's a good buff.

Unlike hyperbloom team where you only need one dedicated full EM character, in Nilou's team you need all 4 to have considerable EM (unless you have Key of Khaj-Nisut) Farming for crits and farming for EM to me are just equally painful. Yes Chevvy may favours characters with already good numbers, but not really in a typical way. Pyro often relies on vaporize (or more uncommonly, melt) to get good numbers, and those who cannot fully utilize reaction due to ICD suffer a lot (except Arlecchino, she has good numbers on her own, though still partly thanks to Bennett) A similar situation is with Electro and Aggravate (the only true exception so far is Raiden, though she still needs C6 Sara and possibly C2 as well to be really broken) Chevvy opens up a whole new team archetype for Pyro and Electro where EM is completely not needed, lessening the hassle for investment a lot. Nilou makes bloom useful without hyperbloom or burgeon, Chevvy makes overload useful. That's why I say the comparison is still reasonable here.

This is such a great guide! I accidentally got Nilou at 36 pity so its a waste for not building her . Plus, I have a lot of hydro characters so its great. Overall shes a great unit with the little green onions ❤️

anyone who said Nilou fell off literally doesn't play this game. she got the opposite of Venti treatment where every abyss after her release made her more and more viable
For 3H1D archetype, you can also use Baizhu as a driver, in fact he's better than Alhaitham since he heals/shields and opens up the 4th slot into a non-healer unit that can buff the whole team like Yelan with elegy bow. Otherwise great vid.
This is true! Baizhu is very tanky as well with his healer build so there's a lot less pressure of dying. My only complaint with Baizhu is that he lacks any sort of meaningful AoE, with really just a 3 target attack on a 10 second cooldown on his skill. Definitely some upsides and downsides 😄
Dockhand Assistant is a limited 4 star weapon but so is Xiphos Moonlight, so it's also as difficult to obtain. And up till now, Xiphos has constantly been featured on the same banner as Key of Khaj Nisut.
Yup! I don't expect many people to have Xiphos' either, but at least its a lot older as a Sumeru weapon instead of a Fontaine Weapon and it also has F2P replacements that give the same amount of EM for the main stat. We really need another HP% sword outside of Dockhand and Nilou's signature 😭
@@Meowreii I agree so much we need more HP% weapons. I don't suppose the Natlan craftables will come with those but it's a missed opportunity the Fontaine ones are mostly Atk% except for the HP% Polearm. Edit: Xiphos Moonlight is once again confirmed coming in the weapon banner with Key.
Small note, to get the max 400% bonus damage from her A4 passive, you need to push to 75,000 hp. While maths says 74,444 is all you need, the last 9% wont be calculated unless you break the 1,000 hp requirement. Hence, 75,000 needed for maximum benefits. Tho 391% boost is already massive enough...
Use furina as the healer in full hp gear, use nilou, nahida, and use mona as the bloom trigger in full em gear. This solves the reaction ownership issue and gives plenty of denro and hyro.

When Nilou reran in 3.6, I skipped her and got her weapon (huge crime, i'm sorry) instead for a certain green catgirl, basing my decision on certain "sources". I ended up getting two Nilou swords out of that, which I've determined was a sign to rectify that wrong on her return and unite a masterless weapon with its owner.
It makes sense in lore why Nahida would work best when you want a Dendro character on your Nilou team. She was one of if not THE only playable character that still believed in her in the Archon quest.
I got her a long time ago when she was on a banner with Albedo (later I got him too, on 8 pity lol) but since then I haven't given her much love. Hopefully this changes now!
I always loved Nilou's design, but never had the need to pull for her. Maybe I can main her in my alternate account (all f2p) but really looking forward to see her in the Summer Event!

I have been running a team with Nilou C2, Yelan, XQ and Kaveh C6. Almost all Bloom ownership goes to Kaveh thanks to his C6 and slowish dendro app. C2 Nilou makes the damage from Blooms and the other Hydros skyrocket and, since every1 but Kaveh is barely on the field I dont need a healer. It is one of my strongest teams, bar some scenarios like enemies with annoying shields or enemies weak only to some other element.
Lovely guide! Off I am to finally build this team. Only thing that was triggering to my ocd is that you did not recommend 5 sub stats, because the main stat eats one of the 4 recommended. I know it does not matter, i'm just splitting hairs here
I’m building my Nilou as a DPS because I love her and I have no Dendro or Hydro DPS that are easy to build other than Nilou. My team is Sub DPS Nahida, DPS Nilou, Healer YaoYao, and Sub DPS Xingqiu. Xingqiu is C2 and YaoYao is C1 while Nilou and Nahida are both C0. Everyone is fully built except for YaoYao who is just missing an hp goblet.
in tripple hydro hydro is still the trigger especially with nahida with baizhu/alhaitem it becomes more mixed if your using xq or yelan and reverts back to mostly being from the hydros when you use furina
One Nilou team that I think also worth mentioning is healerless Nilou team consisting of Nilou, Kaveh, Nahida on prototype amber and either Xingqiu or Furina. This is by far strongest Kaveh+Nilou team and it's surprisingly tanky due to Kaveh's self-sustain combined with p amber additional healing. I also like it for how well rotation of this team flows.
It looks stupid but trust me it works. You can pair Nilou with Arlechino, Nilou ring can apply enough hydro for Arlechino to vape her normal attack (since Arlechono NA follows normal ICD) But you need to hug the enemy for Nilou's skill to "hit" the enemy It is a trick from the Genshin tournament when all the hydro applicators get banned or picked already
@@feyandhisstuff9888 I guess it is I don't know how fast Barbara can apply hydro since it got -nerfed- fixed by hoyo last time But Barbara apply wet on the active character, sometimes will be annoying when facing cryo enemy, her skill radius is pretty much non existent you gotta maintain skinship with the enemy, and also her heal doesn't work on Arlecchino

Another special case team: Nilou nahida kaveh xingqiu Where prototype amber is on nahida, kaveh full EM instructor forest regalia and xingqiu dmg reduction small heals are enough to survive.
call me a madman, but I use Hydro MC with Nilou (+ Yaoyao and Nahi). I use them interchangeably: apply the dendro, Nilou NA3, HMC Skill. I don't have any guidelines when it comes to bursts, so I just use them whenever I deem it necessary, like in abyss or boss fight.
Nilou and Kokomi has always been great on release, it's just the vast majority of players are just too short sighted to see it. Week one of Nilou release a CN TC showed that her team can clear the Ruin Serpent abyss 3* without even leveling and equipping her, she's the least investment highest return character in the game.
Huge piece of incorrect info. There is a way to make sure one person is the bloom trigger 90% of the time. The stronger AOE setup with 2hydro 2dendro. If you have Nahida as an off field dendro means your onfielder being either Koko or Barbara/Ayato or any onfield hydro with good application should not build Healing Bonus /HP or Crit Attack but EM/EM/EM. Nahida applies enough off field dendro with the assistance of another off field dendro character that most of the bloom is done by Koko since her jelly fish is faster than Nilou’s ring in conjunction with her Normal attacks she will have ownership of almost all the blooms with Nilou yoinking a minority of them.
I got Nilou on my 50/50 although I didn’t want her but now I am building her f2p team with C1 Barbara and I hope it do damage than my Furina team as I don’t have a good healer for her. Sadly no Nahida for me and I think it will be the case until next year
Im one of the oldest Nilou fans. Wanted her since the very first blurry 2 second leak of her skill about 3 months before her release. I remember everyone saying she will be bad because she is too niche. She clears enemies faster than my Ayaka team and that is a lot considering she is C2S1 triple crowned and 54/266 crit.
Im so devastated that i got my 80 pity 5050 lost 3 times in a row and all on Deluc. Thankfully I got Nilou on 30 pulls. After building her my Nilou team is dealing 30k damage wich is insane for me.

@@Rockfello His constellations only enables AFK playstyle (aka never swap to him). You just need to poke enemies with his normal attacks for him to work here. Build full EM if you want,
Super tanky which puts a lot of pressure off survivability compared to Nahida/Alhaitham, and frees up your hydro healer! Solid pick, but my only gripe with on-field Baizhu is his lack of AoE.
since most blooms are triggered by hydro, its better to keep a full EM kokomi (or barbara) onfield for more bloom damage, and Baizhu can stay offield and give buffs to these drivers for bit more bloom damage. Nilou Kokomi Baizhu Nahida is comfy and strong. 🥳
Thanks! I made sure the blubberbeast wasn't taking damage from the grass so I think it's actually ok and the pyro aura wasn't reapplied because the pyro aura was flashing to signify the aura weakened after the cryo consumed some of it. Could be wrong tho!
Nilou is ❤ for me. Got her in early pity out of nowhere when she was released and from that time she is my one of the best characters, cleared my first abyss 36 stars with her bloom team ❤ nothing can replace her in bloom team 😇😇
I've benched my 2nd account, where I already have Nilou, and am considering using my guarantee on my main (and now only) to get her again. I saw the recent Natlan trailer and really want Mavuika (and maybe Kinich and Chasca) but... Nilou doesn't come around often and judging by history, Natlan will rerun its own characters multiple times before Nilou returns again. So I'll be getting my girl for my main account. I already know she runs well with Nahida and Kokomi - with either Yaoyao or Karira filling the final spot. I can't wait... though I am still sad that I may miss Mavuika if she's in the 5.0 patch. We'll see. :)

also if you have a second dendro on your team such as yaoyao/collei you can give her the instructor set that gives whole team 120 EM

This is such a great guide! I accidentally got Nilou at 36 pity so its a waste for not building her . Plus, I have a lot of hydro characters so its great. Overall shes a great unit with the little green onions ❤️
You forgot the one team us diehard Nilou lovers use. The on field crit Nilou. Crit Nilou, Furina, Yelan/Xingqiu, and Jean/Xianyun.

For 3H1D archetype, you can also use Baizhu as a driver, in fact he's better than Alhaitham since he heals/shields and opens up the 4th slot into a non-healer unit that can buff the whole team like Yelan with elegy bow. Otherwise great vid.
This is true! Baizhu is very tanky as well with his healer build so there's a lot less pressure of dying. My only complaint with Baizhu is that he lacks any sort of meaningful AoE, with really just a 3 target attack on a 10 second cooldown on his skill. Definitely some upsides and downsides 😄

Dockhand Assistant is a limited 4 star weapon but so is Xiphos Moonlight, so it's also as difficult to obtain. And up till now, Xiphos has constantly been featured on the same banner as Key of Khaj Nisut.
Yup! I don't expect many people to have Xiphos' either, but at least its a lot older as a Sumeru weapon instead of a Fontaine Weapon and it also has F2P replacements that give the same amount of EM for the main stat.
We really need another HP% sword outside of Dockhand and Nilou's signature 😭
@@Meowreii I agree so much we need more HP% weapons. I don't suppose the Natlan craftables will come with those but it's a missed opportunity the Fontaine ones are mostly Atk% except for the HP% Polearm.

Small note, to get the max 400% bonus damage from her A4 passive, you need to push to 75,000 hp.
While maths says 74,444 is all you need, the last 9% wont be calculated unless you break the 1,000 hp requirement. Hence, 75,000 needed for maximum benefits.
Tho 391% boost is already massive enough...

Use furina as the healer in full hp gear, use nilou, nahida, and use mona as the bloom trigger in full em gear. This solves the reaction ownership issue and gives plenty of denro and hyro.

Triple crowned, C1 Nilou with her weapon. I adore this girl so much
When Nilou reran in 3.6, I skipped her and got her weapon (huge crime, i'm sorry) instead for a certain green catgirl, basing my decision on certain "sources". I ended up getting two Nilou swords out of that, which I've determined was a sign to rectify that wrong on her return and unite a masterless weapon with its owner.
It makes sense in lore why Nahida would work best when you want a Dendro character on your Nilou team. She was one of if not THE only playable character that still believed in her in the Archon quest.

I got her a long time ago when she was on a banner with Albedo (later I got him too, on 8 pity lol) but since then I haven't given her much love. Hopefully this changes now!
I always loved Nilou's design, but never had the need to pull for her. Maybe I can main her in my alternate account (all f2p) but really looking forward to see her in the Summer Event!

I have been running a team with Nilou C2, Yelan, XQ and Kaveh C6.
Almost all Bloom ownership goes to Kaveh thanks to his C6 and slowish dendro app. C2 Nilou makes the damage from Blooms and the other Hydros skyrocket and, since every1 but Kaveh is barely on the field I dont need a healer.
It is one of my strongest teams, bar some scenarios like enemies with annoying shields or enemies weak only to some other element.
Lovely guide! Off I am to finally build this team. Only thing that was triggering to my ocd is that you did not recommend 5 sub stats, because the main stat eats one of the 4 recommended. I know it does not matter, i'm just splitting hairs here
I’m building my Nilou as a DPS because I love her and I have no Dendro or Hydro DPS that are easy to build other than Nilou. My team is Sub DPS Nahida, DPS Nilou, Healer YaoYao, and Sub DPS Xingqiu. Xingqiu is C2 and YaoYao is C1 while Nilou and Nahida are both C0. Everyone is fully built except for YaoYao who is just missing an hp goblet.
in tripple hydro hydro is still the trigger especially with nahida with baizhu/alhaitem it becomes more mixed if your using xq or yelan and reverts back to mostly being from the hydros when you use furina
I have a dockhands assistant and used to use it in Furina before getting the fishing weapon
One Nilou team that I think also worth mentioning is healerless Nilou team consisting of Nilou, Kaveh, Nahida on prototype amber and either Xingqiu or Furina.
This is by far strongest Kaveh+Nilou team and it's surprisingly tanky due to Kaveh's self-sustain combined with p amber additional healing. I also like it for how well rotation of this team flows.
The only problem is that kaveh's bloom and nilou's blooms arent the same so you're losing dmg by activating them with kaveh

It looks stupid but trust me it works.
You can pair Nilou with Arlechino, Nilou ring can apply enough hydro for Arlechino to vape her normal attack (since Arlechono NA follows normal ICD)
But you need to hug the enemy for Nilou's skill to "hit" the enemy
It is a trick from the Genshin tournament when all the hydro applicators get banned or picked already
You know in this way you can also use barbara. Will be pretty much the same tho

I don't know how fast Barbara can apply hydro since it got -nerfed- fixed by hoyo last time
But Barbara apply wet on the active character, sometimes will be annoying when facing cryo enemy, her skill radius is pretty much non existent you gotta maintain skinship with the enemy, and also her heal doesn't work on Arlecchino

Nilou nahida kaveh xingqiu
Where prototype amber is on nahida, kaveh full EM instructor forest regalia and xingqiu dmg reduction small heals are enough to survive.
call me a madman, but I use Hydro MC with Nilou (+ Yaoyao and Nahi). I use them interchangeably: apply the dendro, Nilou NA3, HMC Skill. I don't have any guidelines when it comes to bursts, so I just use them whenever I deem it necessary, like in abyss or boss fight.
Nilou and Kokomi has always been great on release, it's just the vast majority of players are just too short sighted to see it.
Week one of Nilou release a CN TC showed that her team can clear the Ruin Serpent abyss 3* without even leveling and equipping her, she's the least investment highest return character in the game.

Huge piece of incorrect info. There is a way to make sure one person is the bloom trigger 90% of the time. The stronger AOE setup with 2hydro 2dendro. If you have Nahida as an off field dendro means your onfielder being either Koko or Barbara/Ayato or any onfield hydro with good application should not build Healing Bonus /HP or Crit Attack but EM/EM/EM. Nahida applies enough off field dendro with the assistance of another off field dendro character that most of the bloom is done by Koko since her jelly fish is faster than Nilou’s ring in conjunction with her Normal attacks she will have ownership of almost all the blooms with Nilou yoinking a minority of them.

I got Nilou on my 50/50 although I didn’t want her but now I am building her f2p team with C1 Barbara and I hope it do damage than my Furina team as I don’t have a good healer for her. Sadly no Nahida for me and I think it will be the case until next year

Im one of the oldest Nilou fans. Wanted her since the very first blurry 2 second leak of her skill about 3 months before her release. I remember everyone saying she will be bad because she is too niche. She clears enemies faster than my Ayaka team and that is a lot considering she is C2S1 triple crowned and 54/266 crit.

Im so devastated that i got my 80 pity 5050 lost 3 times in a row and all on Deluc. Thankfully I got Nilou on 30 pulls. After building her my Nilou team is dealing 30k damage wich is insane for me.

@@Rockfello His constellations only enables AFK playstyle (aka never swap to him). You just need to poke enemies with his normal attacks for him to work here. Build full EM if you want,

Super tanky which puts a lot of pressure off survivability compared to Nahida/Alhaitham, and frees up your hydro healer! Solid pick, but my only gripe with on-field Baizhu is his lack of AoE.
since most blooms are triggered by hydro, its better to keep a full EM kokomi (or barbara) onfield for more bloom damage, and Baizhu can stay offield and give buffs to these drivers for bit more bloom damage.
Nilou Kokomi Baizhu Nahida is comfy and strong. 🥳
5:19 me who didn't get a single HP% substat for all of my HP% artifacts, even after levelling: 🤷♀️ I guess 63K HP is fine.
you cant get a substat on an artifact if its already a mainstat. Like you cant get double crit on a crit rate/dmg circlet

Thanks! I made sure the blubberbeast wasn't taking damage from the grass so I think it's actually ok and the pyro aura wasn't reapplied because the pyro aura was flashing to signify the aura weakened after the cryo consumed some of it. Could be wrong tho!
Nilou is ❤ for me. Got her in early pity out of nowhere when she was released and from that time she is my one of the best characters, cleared my first abyss 36 stars with her bloom team ❤ nothing can replace her in bloom team 😇😇

I've benched my 2nd account, where I already have Nilou, and am considering using my guarantee on my main (and now only) to get her again. I saw the recent Natlan trailer and really want Mavuika (and maybe Kinich and Chasca) but... Nilou doesn't come around often and judging by history, Natlan will rerun its own characters multiple times before Nilou returns again.
So I'll be getting my girl for my main account.
I already know she runs well with Nahida and Kokomi - with either Yaoyao or Karira filling the final spot. I can't wait... though I am still sad that I may miss Mavuika if she's in the 5.0 patch. We'll see. :)
