    Love your videos! Hoping you are still working in the area in a couple of years when we are ready to make the move! I was born and raised in San Francisco - and never thought I'd leave, but I'm ready for a change (and an early retirement from San Franciso public schools in the spring of 2026). Thank you so much for your thorough, engaging overviews. :)

    Me and my partner what to move to Oregon next year, We will be coming from New Orleans Louisiana! we did a lot of research and decided on either bend or eugene and we are leaning towards eugene mainly because there more things to do city wise and job wise but is still surrounded with beautiful nature spots. We are about to start renovating a camper to live in to avoid high cost of rent plus we think it would be a fun experience and a great way to save. Do you know if there are any nice rv/ trailer parks in the eugene area?

    • @EugeneLivingwithBrynCook
      @EugeneLivingwithBrynCook  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oooooh, that's a good question. It's not really my area of expertise, but I know people who have stayed at the park just east of I-5 in Coburg (just north of Eugene), the Armitage Park RV park is close to town but near the river (which could be nice), OR if you want to go a little west of town, there are a couple of options near Fern Ridge Reservoir that would be a little more scenic. Those would be my suggestions. I hope that helps. Let me know if you need anything else. 😊

    Eugene has the greatest amount of homelessness per capita than any other city in the United States

    • @moa3008

      I’m surprised about that; I would have thought that Portland; and Seattle; and the Miami area would have a greater amount of homeless per person capita than the Eugene area.

    Santa Clara is the best neighborhood in Eugene and has not been fully absorbed into the filth and disgust that Eugene has become. Santa Clara should have become their own city but they always let Eugene bully them into being taken over.

    Is it nasty like Portland where it costs over a million for a two bedroom house? A lot of drugs and homeless encampments? Dangerous for retired folk... saw the kids screaming and yelling at the old people trying to cross the road. Saw gangs of crazy young people stopping traffic and yelling at drivers.. banging on their cars.

      I was born and raised in Eugene and still live there now. I won't sugar-coat anything here, the housing market has definitely exploded recently but with that being said some members of my family recently found a nice 4 bedroom house in a good neighborhood for only 500k. On the issues of drugs and the homeless, both crime and homelessness have only gotten worse during the pandemic and neither were in a good place before. With that being said though, both are quite easy to avoid if you stay out of two neighborhoods, "The Whitaker" and downtown. Lastly I would strongly recommend that anyone considering a move to Eugene should take a serious look at Springfield. Our sister city has recently become the antithesis of it's old reputation. Great food, much more strict policies regarding the homeless, and the housing prices aren't as inflated. Hope this helps!
