Stay away from NW Eugene. Drug addicts/thieves, use the St. Vinnies on 99 as a hub. They will steal everything, within a 1-2 mile radius. You'll enjoy people living in their vehicles, leaving trash, and where they do "their business"? The numerous sawdust processing plants... stink 24/7. Not to mention their proximity to the gasoline depot and rail road is a disaster, waiting to happen! 99 is a racetrack at night time. The rail road switching yard gets active between midnight and 5am. Any home within a 1/2 a mile of it, means sleepless night if you enjoy a window open. Google map these problems before buying.

Fun to see my hometown when I was just starting grade school! In 1959...The centennial year for the State of Oregon! I started school in Mrs. Lansing's class and we moved in the summer of 1963. Very fond memories of those days :-)

Here is a tip, if there is a compost bin or pile of yard waste on the property or even in the neighborhood, then there are rats. You don't even have to dump food waste into it, just yard waste is enough to attract them. The compost pile heats up as the organic material rotts making it a perfect insulator for rats to create their tunnel homes under. Grubs and worms inhabit the space, feeding on the rotting organic material and providing a ready food source for the rats. Sooner or later they will find their way into crawl spaces, attics, and anyplace else as the room in the pile becomes too cramped for the population of rats. If you want to compost and don't want the rodents, invest in a raised composter that keeps the material from being in contact with the ground.
