I love Eugene, the city I grew up in, you showed my favorite areas to be in Eugene. I wish Eugene was so clean and beautiful today as you show it. There are people sleeping on the streets in downtown and broken down campers and tents all over.

I think it’s because of the mild weather year round that attracts people who like to sleep on the streets; and any vacant buildings; and in city parks.

Born here, left for Alaska, moved back many years later. Eugene is a great place, if you can take the goofy politics.

Everyone loves Eugene, beautiful city, well funded academics and public services that are established and functional, as most places we struggle with homelessness and poverty , to a less extensive degree than Portland I think. We have access to fresh foods, job markets are strong and housing is starting to shift into a better place finally, again, not a eugene specific issue, prices across America are undoubtedly higher. Eugene is a city rich in community and activity, we have an extreme sense of pride in our city and state of Oregon in general. We are the home of the U of O, a prestigious university with close ties to Eurasia , bringing highly educated people to fall in love with this city. The willamette valley produces extremely high value crops such as the nation’s hazelnuts, blackberries, and various other crops. Tons of access to fresh water, high quality soil and modest seasons. Our government isn’t all that bad when we look at the greater America and how everyone else is doing . We’re not doing too bad. Again, everyone who lives here loves the city and always has good things to say

Off the Waffle is a great place to eat and so was Rose and Thistle before the owner retired and closed it. Fisherman's Market is great also. Don't forget VooDoo Donuts. There are plenty of great places to eat.

It takes about to get to Florence Oregon from Eugene. Florence has a good downtown and beach areas. Other favorite places of mine are: Yachats, Lincoln City, Pacific City, Cannon Beach, and Seaside!

If you drive sane, about an hour.
If you drive fast, about 40min., but that how people get killed on Hwy 126.

@@ralphowen3367 my grandparents owned an organic bakery and wholesale grain place here in the 70s and 80s. They also co - owned a couple other similar bakeries in eugene at the time. It was a much smaller place, but as we see today there are tons of people living here, eugene and Springfield are twin/sister cities that are connected, we share emergency services between the 2, school districts are intertwined, when people say eugene we also pretty much mean the eugene/Springfield metropolitan (city limits of the 2 cities combined). If we really wanna get nit picky with metro areas I would also include the town of coburg, not much but just shows how dense it it’s becoming

@@Carmen4ever Yes, I remember one bakery that was on a street that went toward the University. It was not 1/4 mile from the downtown area where was the Odyssey Coffee shop. They had music and poetry readings on weekends. Neil Young's Harvest album had just come out. To make rent money, I made granola and wood stove bread and sold it for a couple weeks to that particular bakery. To get out of the rain, I would go to the University t.v. room and watch Star Trek episodes. So much has changed in the town since I was there. The White Bird clinic looked so drab compared to 1970. I visited there in about 2022 and I could barely get my bearings. Is the creamery still there in Springfield?

      Good comeback.
      1) I hope that I win something substantial with the Lotto...
      2) so I can contact your business about anything available in Franklin, Alvadore, Crow or Loraine...
      3) so I can get the hell away from people. I've had it with HDPs (Highly Defective People) here in California.
Great job on the picturesque video of Eugene btw. 🌿🌎🌲🚲
And no it's not as bad as some other comments suggests because I visit my mother twice a year (in Veneta).
