@14:22 I believe that physical collectibles are highly valued and sought after, and I personally share this sentiment. I have a particular affinity for physical music formats such as vinyls, CDs, ripped music files on my personal external hard drives , and tapes. However, I am hesitant to rely solely on digital servers to access and store my personal collection, as I value having a tangible and accountable ownership of my possessions

To me, eye appeal for modern cards are things like parallels with a color match. And yes those cards should be valued slightly higher than parallels that dont look good, even if the rarity doesn't support that.
I'll tell you easily the best thing to do look for a joe burrow prizm silver closely examine the centering and quality and buy one, sells for 500 and goes for 2500 in a psa 10

I kind of feel that with eye appeal with the 2003 Lebron Topps vs the 2003 Bowman Lebron. I have both in PSA 9.s but I'd rather sell the bowman one because I think the eye appeal on the Topps card is really cool.
Relics are where eye appeal matters to me on ultra modern cards. An RPA /99 for example could in theory have 99 different levels of eye appeal when it comes to the patches. I would pay more for a version with a nicer patch even if the serial numbering is the same. Same can go for autos, a prayers signature can vary card to card so eye appeal can apply there as well.

I’d say football is hotter than usual rn bc of the late releases of Prizm football. Optic contenders and a few others have dropped recently. That definitely helps the market. Great video as usual!

Reminds me of the 1992 draft. A few QBs that got drafted high (Willis and Pickett) because of lack of depth in the position. Reminds me of Tommy Maddox and Klingler drafted because the 1993 draft had all of the QBS.

@@bosoxnjazz you can find Jordans for 150 that will be worth 500 in about 2 years. So if you both 10 of them that is 1500 turned into 5000 dollars. That is WAYYYY better than the Stockmarket or Gold.
Good way to burn 500$. Sports cards are crashing like the early 90s....
True they are crashing but this new crash is a beast unto itself. When the market crashed in the early 1990’s these “investors” were buying cases of 36 wax boxes for $100. Granted prices have changed but in the 90’s these guys bought 10 cases and sat in them and there were only 4 products a year. Now these products come out every week and they are forgotten the second they come out with people dropping thousands of dollars a week on breaks or a box or two.
I'd probably put $ into Kobe and Shaq. Cheap cards and they're both top 10. Also Gretzky is a GREAT buy right now. If you're going modern I'd only buy Ohtani and Mahomes. I'd also be willing to risk a bit on Wemby when his cards come out. This really depends on what kind of collector you are or want to be. Are you in it to make $ or because you love a certain team or player. There is no REAL answer. I would suggest that you collect who you like or what team you like. The important part is to have FUN collecting. If you are in it to only make $ I would suggest just put your money in the stock market honestly. If you want to be safe you should buy vintage and try to stick to GOAT players with established careers. There are so many ways to collect and that what makes the hobby so much fun. Just remember to have fun and collect what you like.... but seriously.. buy Gretzky you nerds!

High end Gretzky cards are already past their hype and people are starting to grade his 90’s junk era cards and they are selling for ridiculous amounts of money. Just watch Junk Wax investor each month and you’ll see what I mean. People taking a 1995-96 Upper Deck 5th anniversary base card, getting a PSA 10 and selling $1 card for $200. Even his 1989-90 OPC PSA 10’s are selling for ridiculous amounts of money.
I just started to get into the hobby. I have bought a few hobby boxes for the thrill and maybe il get some good breaks. But after that, I will only spend on individual cards that I can get more bang for My buck and spoil myself with one or two PSAs. Spending 300 Plus every year on hobby boxes is definitely not my plan and this video confirms why it's not a good idea if you want a decent return.
I'm going to spend 500 on grading some cards through sgc. Got the cards ready. My first time sending in. A bit nervous. But hopefully I can profit and upgrade my investments

how did he compare movies and music going digital to cards going digital. The point of music and movies is to see and hear them for entertainment. Digital only makes that easier. The cards value is literally only found in physically acquiring the cards. apples and oranges
Do a video on sniping ungraded cards off TH-cam or Craigslist. Where they took good care of them and you think the card could be a 9 or a 10 and you think that card can be picked up for 1/5th the value.

I wanna know retail wise what you would recommend to buy I love collecting don't matter about the money but it would be nice to win big and I wish and hope that to everyone for everyone that can't afford flawless and national treasures. I tried select draft picks 22 . 2 blaster boxes with nothing mosaic which I love haven't got anything. Tried donruss have a patch from isiah spiller got a optic red n green kenneth walker and I have a bunch of kenneth walker rookie cards but yet to get anyone that is big. Tried contenders and have a brian Robinson patch but I'm waiting for my big hit. I wanna know 500 for retail wise
Nothing because retail is junk, it’s why it’s sitting on the shelves for months at a time. Unless you hit the one in a billion hit all you can hope for is that your base rookies turn into Tom Brady in 10 years. Otherwise you just have a pile of the same cards that a million other people own due to overproduction.

@@jonathanbanks4427 I've been telling myself that for years lol. If anything in the big three sports would go on clearance I would be a buyer. It's how I got all of my Mahomes rookie cards because in 2018 they couldn't give away the 2017 packs. I could pick up tons of 2017 Score and Donruss and pull lots of Mahomes and parallels of him and with blasters that cost $12.99. Now all I'm buying is last year's hockey blasters that are on clearance at Target and sitting on a bunch of Young Guns rookie cards that usually have 5-6 great players that pay off in a few years like Makar and Robertson did the past few years

Ouch, with $500, just be sure that 1) you like the card, because you'll be wearing it, and 2) be sure the person will be (or is) an HOF'er. I'd go with a Mike Trout card, either 2010 Bowman Platinum or 2011 Bowman Draft Chrome, love them both.

Ming didn't have a very good career. As for Nowitzki some of his cards might be good but around that time is when cards started looking bad with all the silver and no in game background or action scene. The best looking cards ever were the 92-93 Fleer NBA, 91-92 Upper Deck NBA 92-93 Upper Deck, 92-93 Topps NBA, 92-93 Stadium club.
but the sports cards companies got sued for Millions of dollars for using the image of fans in the background.
Even NBA and NFL games never show the fans now on the games.

most cards over 2018 will be most likely worthless anyone spending $500+ on the newer cards are going to lose all of their money. most of these garbage cards are down 90% in just this past year.
The new cards look awful. They are never action shots, Also there is no background. The In Game Background is what made Cards good and why there are cards even today. Also it's ilke 100 dollars for one pack of 5 cards. Or 4 cards cause one will be a checklist.
Also there is only 1 company that has the rights to make cards. That is an monopoly and that is never good.
Klay thompson was just a product of his environment. lowered and loosened rims, playing alongside Curry and His dad is best friends with Mychael Thompson, so he had 30 minutes a game as a rookie and a green light. Anyone will do ok in that environment. Any other coach and he probably doesn't even make the NBA.

Everyone wants to know what is happening at PWCC
If Fanatics wants to 5-10x the hobby, they need to start focusing on bringing kids into the hobby. Maybe start offering exclusive packs of cards to kids through their youth sport teams. Introduce Sports Cards to these kids and have rare or chase cards that they can trade. Or offer each kid some type of redemption or discount to purchase something directly from Fanatics or a local card shop for participating in youth sports.
It’s not going to happen the hobby is not going to 10x it’s actually receding most cards are down 70 percent across the board
All Fanatics is going to do is make the pack and box prices 5-10 times the cost once they have a monopoly like they do in the licensed sports apparel market.
Exactly, Fanatics bought in at the hype and the peak of the market and they are going to completely destroy the hobby because either pack price SRPs are going to go through roof and price even more people out or people won’t buy their overpriced junk and Fanatics will jump ship.

You are comparing movies and music to sports cards. 1 Movies in music you get what you want out of it through the digital version. Literally everything you could possibly want from it you get. You can't display a digital movie in a case in your house. Nor would you want to. Collectibles will never be a digital market

$500?? Id buy 2 pokemon 25th anniversary Ultra premium collection boxes or, if i couldn't get 2 for that(which i probably couldn't rn).. I'd get 1 of them and 1 or 2 of the zard UPC boxes with it. Put em in the closet and watch my investment value double and triple in the next year.

shame on you if you take these guys seriously....I listen for entertainment -- they clearly don't know much about sports. Find people in your area who have ACTUALLY done well in sports cards and pick their brains.....you'll be lucky to find any.
