The editing and storytelling just keep getting better and better. The dioramas are also amazing, and the frames give them a more unique feel, they are a joy to watch.
An idea for you: If the picture were so deep that you could set your hero and favorite character with a magnet and then use it again to play. Would be a business idea.
I love these so much. It's where an artist can flex their 2D and 3D painting skills in one piece (not to mention sculpting, kit bashing and composition) . They remind me of of pedimental sculptures. Just so fantastic! It'd be great to see framed dioramas as their own category at competitions.
Your work I've seen over different art media has been a huge inspiration. I'm starting my own dioramas off this video looking up how to do it. Thanks for showing your work. Forgive if you already have them, this is the first I've seen of your YT material but I'd love to see a step by step on your process
Thank you for your kind words. I am happy if you enjoy my creations. Ypu can see my step by step processes here: www.etsy.com/de/shop/RomanLappat/ Or actual processes via my Patreon. Please find it in here in my descritbtions. Enjoy and thank you for your support!
Wow, that was really stunning! After watching this video, I feel inspired to create my own take on your framed diorama. As a fan of the Alien franchise, I'm thinking of taking elements from that in my creation.
So this is the man behind the INSANITY that is the Black Templars 3d painting! First time I saw I thought "cool painting. Then somebody said it wasn't only paint, but miniatures. o_O!
It's funny how I came across this I was always thinking of having a nice idea of making a 3-D picture. I saw another you tuber do something similar , came out nice, but yours are exceptional.
Many thanks for your kind words! Yes, a lot of TH-camrs and Miniature Painters are inspired and this is so beautiful to see. I really enjoyed pushing this setup to new heights some years ago and inspiring many with my creations. Arigato for your compliment!
Your chanel just poped up on my sugestions and i was intrigued by the theme...Framed Warhammer dioramas? These are just beautiful pieces, and now i have to add another project to my list.
Not really a Golden Demon in the works. As soon as I would do such for a competition I woulf lose fun in the creation. I am not a competiton painter. I create to tell stories, not to win medals. A very personal view of course.
0:07 that smile, that damned smile! First time I saw one of your frame dioramas (the Rain of Vengance) it just really hit me differently, inspiration-wise. Been looking at all my figures in a "setting" now, not just a color scheme. Thank you for that, it feels much more "right" :)
I'm not usually a fan of dioramas, since it feels like you could be having pretty much the same thing but playable in the majority of cases. But making these into "pictures" is SO cool. Bravo on the creative concept and execution.
As much as I'd love to start painting, I think my hobby will consist of admiring your fantastic creations. Your talent is awe-inspiring and intimidating.
Just simply amazing work. When ever I get in a slump or a painting block, I go and look at your work. It’s so inspirational to see. It helps me get back up.
Chris, thank you for your kind words. They are really appreciate it and whenever I feel down or question what I do or why I do it I will go back to your comment here. Arrigato!
What surprised me, when I first saw a WIP picture, was that the objects are not put together after painting and even the backdrop being in place. I would've guess at least the backdrop would be put in last to make the painting easier reachable
Great Video Roman. I've done two framed items now, a box diorama for a journeyman bust and a framed bust from Alexandros Models and both have been a ton of fun and I feel like really help giving it a finished touch. Look forward to seeing more of yours and also doing more!
As always super inspiring! It's incredible to me that you got all these done in 2022 that's just amazing. Now off to the etsy store because I had no idea you had tutorials for these!!!!
@@ROMANLAPPATMINIATUREART I totally agree, you are such a wealth of talent and inspiration and I can’t wait to start one of these for myself. You’re a legend my friend, space wolves are by far my favorite and you’ve definitely managed to do them justice!
I really have to admit that after watching your progression from concept to implementation of the frame idea it is safe to say that you are well on the way to mastering this process. I was already impressed when I saw some of your work on putty and paint and now all I can say is wow! Well well done my friend!
OMG! Yes, yes, YES! I love this idea! Ok…. I’m gonna binge your content over the next few days while I finish my current build! So glad TH-cam pushed your content to me 👌

You've inspired me to work on my own one of these. I've had minis sitting around that I want to put in a dio on the shelf but I never thought of putting them in a frame.
Amazing looking framed dioramas! Very inspiring idea! I'm building dioramas and vignettes for 35 years by now and this is a (for me, that is) new way of looking at the hobby. I'm definitely going to give this a closer look and give it ago in the nearby future! Thanks for the video! Subscribed to the channel! :)
Rain of Vengeance was an eye opener and the Death Dealers Tribute was the ignition to try a framed diorama on my own. Your story telling is awesome! Keep going!
How do you paint in crevices? Seems like here would be a lot of things your brush just couldn't reach? Do you do sub assemblies? Same question about the background
I only paint what I can see. What I can see I can reach with a brush. What I can not see, I can not reach with a brush and no one else can see. No sub-assembly, painting in full picture mode like canvas painting ... it is a lovely experience!
What a legend. And in my humble view, the GOAT.
Arrigato! I feel very humbled.
My eyes……they will never see another diorama the same. Those look like 3 dimensional renaissance paintings. Truly stunning and inspiring.
