Hi Mike, they’ve just dug one out last year, it’s about 25 meters long and about 10 meters wide maybe? I’d say it was more suited to those just starting out 👍

Great session and a nice way to finish with one on the dry. I love the takes you get on a nice quick retrieve, no messing about just bang, they're on!

I’ve fly fished and tied my own flies for nearly 30 years. I love it. It’s a great feeling catching on your own creations.

Thanks Tim, the Apps Bloodworm was origionaly tied by Peter Appelby. It's a cracking winter/early season fly. I like mine in Amber or shocking pink but they work in all sorts of colours. It's a must have if you fish stillwaters in my opinion. You can find a pattern for it here th-cam.com/video/_WCq6PMbqgU/w-d-xo.html

What line and fly you use mate? I stood in that exact spot on Friday at Thrunton and caught 1 but i am useless 😂😂

Hi Dean, I was using a medium intermediate with an Amber Apps Bloodworm on the point and a Hot Pink Apps on the dropper. They like it pretty fast in that corner but that corner also sees a lot of pressure as it’s close to the lodge. At this time of year I would suggest a floater with suspender buzzers around #14 It’s dry flies all the way through the summer at Thrunton. Tight lines.
